[APP][2.2+]Tasks for Android

Hey guys,
We have just released our task app for Android called "Tasks", which features a beautiful ICS interface. We adapted it to all screen sizes and backported it to Android 2.2+ using the same visual design.
Features
Features include sync with Google Tasks and the use of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich design language.
Powerful
The application matches all the features found on Google Inc.’s online client for Google Task. This includes the support for several task lists, notes, due dates, rearranging by dragging and task grouping. Furthermore, Tasks is tied into the Android account manager and supports the parallel usage of multiple Google accounts. Also, users will receive notifications about due dates and can display task lists on their home screen via widgets.
Design
Tasks makes strong usage of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich design language, also referred to as Holo. From the beginning, Tasks was designed to run well across devices, be it a phone, a tablet or anything in between. Even though Tasks employs Android latest features, it runs on Android 2.2+ with the same set of functionality and the same design.
Launch video
A good overview of the features and design is given by our launch video:
Availability and Promotion
Tasks is available immediately on Google Play in two versions: paid and free. As a launch promotion, the paid version is available at a significant lower price during April. The exact price can be found on Google Play as it is subject to your local currency.
The free version is ad-supported and matches the paid version in features.
Tasks is currently localized to American English and German.

Looks nice, will try it later.
Why no screenshots or video of the widgets?
Just added a screenshot of the widget
Thank you for the feedback!
Just saw the video. This app looks top notch.
I like how it looks. Works good so far. But before I would use it, i miss two options:
- links in tasks should be clickable.
- it doesn't integrate into the android sharing system. E.g. I'd like to save a website. With gtasks I just press the share option in the browser and share it with gtasks. It's then added as a task.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I really appreciate the account setup right when you first open the app. Some apps neglect that.
This task app has most major features a task app needs. The clearing of tasks animation is the cherry on top.
Suggestions/feature requests:
Add an All list that contains all or user-selected lists, like gTasks.

I would like those features aswell.
I actually just uninstalled gTasks and will stick with this app
Really love the simple ICS style.
Are there more differences than the ads between free and pro?
On a side note, the widget only showed up after a reboot, but that might just be a fluke (using cm9 on gnexus).

The widget appearing only after reboot isn't a app bug. Happens with lot's of apps. It's random, at least with me.

I want this as well, to add support to Smooth Calendar. If you want to be THE tasks solution you really need a content provider.
calender integration
hi,
will there be a google calendar integration in the future?
where do I find this moderator page in your google+ page?
does anyone has problem after the daylight saving time? (I'm in Italy)
with or without checking automatic timezone\date & time I always have notifications before its due time.
Reboot or force close of the app doesn't solve the problem. I tried with other tasks app and this problem isn't there
for example:
It's 21:00. Due time 21:00: A notification appears and it says 20:00 as due time
It's 21:00. Due time 21:30: A notification appears and it says 20:30 as due time
It's 21:00. Due time 22:00: A notification appears and it says 21:00 as due time
It's 21:00. Due time 22:01: No notifications but after 1 minute I'll have one
Basically it's like he doesn't consider the new time zone.
The strange thing is that Google Calendar(on the web) has the same timezone\time of the phone so it shouldn’t be a problem
Also, not only I have this problem with my HTC One S ICS 4.0.4 but even with my father Galaxy Ace 2.3.6

Named on of the "Top 10 Apps for Android Phones" by the New Your Times .... Runs on Android 2.1 or higher ... No need for Root (runs on UnRooted devices)
FROM PC WORLD REVIEW:
" Speaktoit Assistant is a virtual buddy for your Android device that uses natural language technology to answer questions, find information, and connect you with various web services, such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and many others. .....The Assistant works with your smartphone to get maps, search for news and images, look up weather reports, convert currency and measurements, send email, and much more. .....No need to memorize special commands or complex interfaces - simply speak or type in everyday language and the Assistant will understand and respond with what you need. ... If you want a Siri-like app on your 'droid, this is one of your better options. " PC WORLD

I downloaded S-Voice over a week ago. I was somewhat impressed, but kept running into a number of problems.
So I continued researching. I tried Vlingo, and number of other voice assist apps.
After all this, I've come to the conclusion the Speaktoit Assistant App is the best.
Give it a try, I think you will like it. Especially, if you have been frustrated witht he crippled functionality of S-Voice so far.
So for now, I say "Forget about S-Voice, the Speaktoit Assistant App, is Prettier, Faster, Better and Easier to Score"
(( I like the Pretty Girl Avatar. If you don't like pretty girl avatars, you can change it to a Dude, or even a Microphone ))

Neither is Speaktoit.. it's a work in progress and it does fantastic. It's in the market for free, try it if you want to see for yourself. IMO, works way better than Siri, and my friends who have the iPhone agree..

1) That's the problem with applications being grabbed from a phone that hasn't hit the market yet and run on phones that aren't "officially" supported - somehow people still blame the developers.
2) Tell me if you understand these questions....
What is David Wright's career batting average?
What time is Grimm on tv?
Once a Voice Assistant can understand questions like that I will call it "useful". To me, all these programs are still in development stage. I've tried all of them (except S Voice) and they are all limited to pre-programmed commands and hit-or-miss some very simple everyday questions.

Yeah, but where does Speaktoit get its information from? Both S-Voice and Siri get their info from Wolfram Alpha.
I'm waiting for Google's Assistant, aka Project Majel, to hit. I'm sure the Nexus devices will be among the first to get a taste. Instead of using Wolfram Alpha, Assistant will use Google's own search engine and their new Knowledge Graph.

Wow, I just discovered that you can go into Settings and Customize your avatar.
I managed to enhance my already pretty avatar by changing her hair, eyes, lips, nose, etc.
Now when she speaks to me, I understand her in a more personal way.
You can also Build you own avatar,
Change You Avatat's Body, Hair, Brows, Eyes, Glasses, Nose, Mouth, Clothes
Change your avatar's Voice, FemaleUSA, MaleUSA, FemaleUK, MaleUK
Change your avatar's background.
You can also change your Te3xtToSpeech Engine - Google or Pico or Samsung (if installed)
I'm having fun with this SpeakToIt voice assistant app.
To be honest, im looking forward to utter since it seems to have the best functionality overall

App design is like a cartoon! Maybe if it was made more professional looking, I could use it. Now it is just a toy trying to ride on Siri's popularity. I would rather use Galaxy S voice. Even though it sucks. These days looks go hand in hand with performance.

[REQ]I need a more powerful calculator app! Help plz

I'm using HandyCalc now, it's excellent and free.
But unfortunately, it do not support hyperbolic function (sinh, cosh, tanh, etc.), and it do not support complex operation (e^(i*π)+1=0, etc.), neither do matrix.
Arity is simply, powerful, but not as user-friendly as HandyCalc, it supports hyperbolic functions and complex operations, but lack many features that HandyCalc has.
Is there any calculator that combines them or even more powerful (matrix support)?
A perfect calculator I expect: (Basic and Extend features should be the minimize requirement, Bonus will be good it have)
Basic What HandyCalc do
Extend Hyperbolic Function support
Extend Complex Operation support
Bonus Matrix operation support
Bonus Free

Hi, Lesicnik1, thank you for your reply.
Yes I've tried, Realcalc is good and handy but not enough. Are you sure it support complex operation? It cannot even store values into variables.
Personally I'm not interested in real-calculator-simulator things, I want a mobile version of Mathematica or matlab.

[Q] MyScript Notes Mobile - is it worth it?

Is someone using "MyScript Notes Mobile" (by VisionObjects) on the GNote 10.1?
It's available on SamsungApps only and after having seen some video about it, I think it is very similar to S-Note. Maybe it's intended as an advanced version of S-Note (probably VisionObject is behind the S-Note default app too).
But does it really offer some advanced functionality (with respect to S-Note)? If so, which ones? Is it worth the price (€ 8 in Europe)?

Got this few days ago and pretty impressed with it so far. Handwriting recognition is excellent, way better than snote and seems to handle things like capital letters, spacing and punctuation much better. Fairly limited options in terms of pen types, colors, templates, backgrounds etc, but if the main thing you want is handwriting recognition then this is definitely the app for you.

Q) Why can’t I find MyScript Notes Mobile for my Android device on Google Play?
Though the OEM version of MyScript Notes Mobile can run on a very wide range of devices, we have decided to launch the Android public version first on the “Samsung Apps” store (a list of supported devices can be found at the end of this FAQ) and will be expanding to Google Play shortly. Due to the great variety of Android devices available, it’s very important for Vision Objects to choose carefully which ones we decide to support to ensure that the user experience is optimal. Indeed a poor screen sensitivity associated with a slow processor would not be recommended for this type of application. We are currently evaluating devices and will be making MyScript Notes Mobile more widely available as this process takes place.

I ve been using it on my note for a while and it's been the only note taking application I've found at all useful.
The interface and functionality are relatively primitive but the hwr function is excellent, easily as good as a messagepad (yes, twenty years ago but still the gold standard and benchmark). If it added pattern recognition (like addresses etc), incorporated my script calc and exposed itself to the search interface it would be the phenomenal app.
I would say it's definitely worth €8, that's just the price of a drink eh?
How does this compare with LectureNotes?
Lecture notes doesn't have writing recognition so they have completely different purposes. 7 notes might be what you're looking for it's a keyboard of sorts which uses hwr so you could use to input material for lecture notes I guess
Samsung's stock input method has handwriting recognition. So as long as the app can accept Textual input, it can, thru Samsung's IME, have writing recognition...
I've tried it yesterday and it's not bad. I especially like the possibility to handwrite and later to convert the handwritten text in regular text input. However, the software is VERY limited in customization options, and I cannot see myself using it for anything else than quick list-making.
It's quite frustrating to see that everything necessary to make the ultimate notetaking app exists, but in different apps... Imagine a notetaking app with the customization and versatility of Lecturenotes, the vectorial input + OCR capabilities of Myscript Notes, and the shape + formula recognition of S-Notes... THAT would be awesome and I would gladly pay north of 20$ for it.

I perfectly agree.
There should be a joint venture between acadoid (developer of Lecture Notes) and VisionObjects (developer of My Script Notes Mobile, but I think this is also the actual (ghost) developer behind S Note in collaboration with Samsung) to create the "perfect" and ultimate note taking app.

I think that the apk posted (or better hinted to) in the link above is not the same thing as the one presently commercialized.
If I remember well the apk was extracted from some other tablet (Lenovo ThinkPad?) where it was a system app.
Probably the one sold now in SamsungApps (designed for Samsung devices and with recent updates - last one is v.1.2.10.454, size 10.97MB, dated Jan-11-2013) is a different thing.
In any case I agree that SamsungApps is a real headache.
Some apps are sold in some national stores and not in others and there's no understandable reason for that. I can access this app in Italy and the price is €8.
Anyway here's some explanatory lines taken from VisionObject site (this faq)
