Generally you can be on any firmware, it doesn't even have to be ICS. Just remember when we had the XXLQ7 leak, we didn't have new baseband yet. ICS modems are more optimized for ICS blobs and that gives some improvement. The latest official (ICS) rom is XWLP8 Indian ICS. It has DDLP3 modem and since it's the latest, it must be the best. Even if there are no changes in modems, we can't be sure, so it's the best to be use that baseband.

Rom is not rooted.

Yes.

BUG: Dash clock is force closing. Can not get logcat as the rom has no root privileges.
No settings for launcher, Lockscreen and quick setting panel.

@Adam77Root: It just a change in widget clock with dimensions.. I got the patches from google.. will post the link...
Where can i find the device source? I am stuck in AOSP, so now downloading SlimKat source.. Hope this will work

You can take logcat with adb without root. For root you have to install latest (!) SuperSU.
You can find some lockscreen settings in security settings, the others are not yet implemented.

Thanks! I'm using Epsy's device tree with a few modifications, like removing missing overlays and adding few config options. Will post the raw patch.

I would need someone as maintainer. This build will remain unofficial till then. But Omni doesn't really have unofficial builds.

As far as I know ( I could be wrong so please correct me if I am ), V5 has numbering such as 4.x.x and stopped at 4.12.5 whereas V6's numbering starts at 5.x.x.

Hello guys . Just to clarify. Latest miui release for note 3 is v4.12.5 ( means year 201 4 of 12( december) and 5 means day)
The version 5.4.27 ( means year 201 5 of 4(april) and 27 the day)
It means this is not for sure miui v5 released for note 3 , by the date and looks of screenshot i would say it is miui v6.
I will further investigate and give feedback.

Visit the link that goes to the originating forum for this ROM. You will see that it is indeed MIUI V6. And, correct MIUI nomenclature has always follow year:month:day from it's very beginning. If you have used MIUI ever you would know this. AND, Thanks OP for finding this!! :victory:

Update to others who would like to flash the rom, here's how I did it;
1. Flash the rom then the fix immediately after that. At this point, also flash keyboard of your choice as rom didn't come with one.
2. Reboot to android and set system up
3. Reboot to recovery flash gapps, supersu and optionally a kernel compatible with miui and your phone.
4. Boot up to android and you're good to go

Sorry, just downloaded from the op's link and don't know of any other link at this point.

How to install

1. Download this ROM (link end of post)
2. Install this ROM via CWM (PhilZ Touch)*
3. You can use my tools to install CWM,select number 2
NOTED: *. DON'T TRY TO INSTALL THIS ROM VIA TWRP(2.8.1.0) OR LATEST CWM (6.0.5.1) OR YOU WILL GET BLANK SYSTEM!

note: after installing new app, you should apply Icon pack again from Xposed Installer
recommendation: first install all needed apps and then apply Icon Pack
HOW TO GET PULSING TOUCH KEY LIGHT DURING NOTIFICATION
Go to BLN control-FREEapp>mark Activate BLN (you also can set timeout of LEDs for better battery life)
NOTE: Do not try to install PRO Version otherwise, your TOUCH KEY LIGHT stops working

Do you have the root permission on your phone? I think not.
Follow this discussion and you will find the way: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663834
For the recovery use TWRP, so write on Google "twrp s2 plus" and download TWRP for s2vep with .tar extension (because you must use Odin)
