[Completed] [Q] cm-11 os x build issue - XDA Assist

Hello xda-assist,
I've been trying to build cm-11 for a while following their build instructions. I'm building on a mac os x 10.9.5 with Xcode
I've pulled the repo from official cm-11 and followed all the setup steps for building on mac. But I keep getting stuck with errors as follow:
Code:

After some debugging it turns out it's running prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/host/i686-apple-darwin-4.2.1, which does not support the -arch and the -Wno-nested-anon-types flags.
I've googled and search the forum for keywords but I have no been able to find any help.
I've checked my path and verifies that /opt/local/bin (using macport) is in the front of the default /usr/bin:
Code:
$ echo $PATH | sed 's/:/\'$'\n/g'
/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home/bin
/Volumes/android/build_output/system/host/darwin-x86/bin
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/arm/arm-linux-androideabi-4.7/bin
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/arm/arm-eabi-4.7/bin
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/mips/mipsel-linux-android-4.7/bin
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/development/emulator/qtools
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/arm/arm-linux-androideabi-4.7/bin
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/arm/arm-eabi-4.7/bin
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/development/scripts
/Volumes/android/cm-11/system/prebuilts/devtools/tools
/Users/pobetiger/bin

/opt/local/sbin
/usr/local/bin
/Applications/eclipse
~/android-sdks/platform-tools
~/android-sdks/tools
/usr/bin
/bin
/usr/sbin
/sbin
/usr/local/bin
/opt/X11/bin
/usr/local/git/bin
/Applications/MacVim.app/Contents/MacOS
But this does not seem to be important...my build/core/combo/HOST_darwin-x86.mk contains this line (line 80):
Code:
HOST_TOOLCHAIN_ROOT := prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/host/i686-apple-darwin-4.2.1
HOST_TOOLCHAIN_PREFIX := $(HOST_TOOLCHAIN_ROOT)/bin/i686-apple-darwin$(gcc_darwin_version)
# Don't do anything if the toolchain is not there
ifneq (,$(strip $(wildcard $(HOST_TOOLCHAIN_PREFIX)-gcc)))
HOST_CC := $(HOST_TOOLCHAIN_PREFIX)-gcc
HOST_CXX := $(HOST_TOOLCHAIN_PREFIX)-g++
ifeq ($(mac_sdk_version),10.9)
HOST_GLOBAL_CFLAGS += -I$(mac_sdk_root)/usr/include/c++/4.2.1 -arch i386 -Wno-nested-anon-types -Wno-unused-parameter
HOST_GLOBAL_LDFLAGS += -Wl,-arch,i386,-lstdc++
Which says it will always use the prebuilts/gcc/darwin-x86/host compiler.
So this is not a path setup issue. Not sure how to get around this. Any pointers to threads or right place to post the issue would be very helpful.

Hi,

Thanks Darth, anyway to move this question over? Or do I just open another thread there?
Also, how do I mark this one closed?
Thanks,
pobetiger

Really, I'd do some reading before posting. Maybe you won't need to. But expectations in that section will be higher than other areas of xda. They expect posters there to be well informed and well read.
If you feel you have, then yes... Start a new thread there. ?

Thank you. Thread closed.

[Q] N1(Passion) building CM7 Invalid or corrupt jarfile

Hi,
I'm building CM7 for N1 and I am following: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775505
My OS is Ubuntu 11.04 VB.
when I run the following command . build/envsetup.sh && brunch passion, I get the following error:

DumpPublicKey: out/target/product/passion/obj/PACKAGING/ota_keys_intermediates/keys <= build/target/product/security/testkey.x509.pem

make: *** [out/target/product/passion/obj/PACKAGING/ota_keys_intermediates/keys] Error 1
make: *** Deleting file `out/target/product/passion/obj/PACKAGING/ota_keys_intermediates/keys'
Help please...
Thank you.
I resolved the error. I deleted the /out file, repo sync, and recompiled. I now have a CM7 build for my N1. I haven't tried it on the phone yet but hopefully it works.

[Q]Error building kernel

I`m trying to compile my own kernel but i`m stuck here:

Ideeas?
Ask hillbeast or Moikop. They knows pretty well about kernels.
Yeah i kinda offtopic to ask this on theyr topics. I think i will use pm.

I incorporated your changes and it seems that error is gone while using

However, I encountered an new error

EDIT:
So I tried deleting line 199 and 202 from the config.xml at the build went through.
But, I encountered the previous error
Code:
target thumb C: libhardware_legacy <= hardware/libhardware_legacy/power/power.c
/bin/bash: -c: line 0: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `"'
/bin/bash: -c: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file
make: *** [out/target/product/a9plus/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/libhardware_legacy_intermediates/power/power.o] Error 1
I don't know if they are connected with each other. I conclude that building with make -j1 doesn't solve the EOF error.

U need to copy proprietary files of your device to vendor/qcom/s100 by either running command from your device folder or just download the files and put it to vendor/qcom/s100 .
Edit : I think this is the files u need . confirm that is it the one and if that is the one CD to vendor/qcom dir and issue following command
Code:
git clone https://github.com/liquid-moto/android_vendor_qcom_proprietary s100
It will clone those files to vendor/qcom/
Than go to vendor/qcom/s100 and rename system to proprietary and than start the build....
Hope u got it fixed

I'll post my device tree after I try x10forevers' suggestion.
UPDATE:
So I tried x10forevers' suggestion. I modified proprietary-files.txt and extracted the files. However, some files were not found, namely:
Code:
libmm-color-convertor.so
libmmparser_divxdrmlib.so
a225_pfp.fw
a225_pm4.fw
a225p5_pm4.fw
a300_pfp.fw
a300_pm4.fw
leia_pfp_470.fw
leia_pm4_470.fw
libC2D2.so
UPDATE1:
what should be the value for TARGET_ARCH_VARIANT?
UPDATE 2:
arunmcops, you might want to edit out the '6' from your device.mk
See this line:
Code:
frameworks/base/data/etc/android.soft6ware.sip.voip.xml:system/etc/permissions/android.software.sip.voip.xml \

Hi,
You can browse through this section for other guides and tutorials that may help, there are many,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android
Or, you can ask for help in the tutorial thread you already linked here. Failing all that, you can start your own thread in the section above and ask for help.

You'll need the SELinux patch on gerrit. It's still a WIP. http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/118765/
