Unfortunately it seems that location reporting is not supported by Google in China. From what I understand China very highly regulates what data is allowed in and out of their country on the internet. I would assume that most likely has to do with why it is not supported in China. The list of supported countries for Google location reporting can be found if you click right here.
Also a senior member of XDA has posted some very helpful information on your situation you might want to read, just click right here to read it. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I have already find a way to enable Google Now:
1. open VPN.
2. change the language to English
3. clear the data of Google Search
4. logout the Google account
5. disable Google Play services
6. login
Then the Google Now can be used. But the Location Reporting is still unavailable.

how to install google map..

i just flash CM7 and gapps..but i cant have google maps..i search at market...cant be download also..
please help me...where i can get google map??
i simply type in google map in Android Market
then click install
done
maybe you just need to install Android Market spoof app, to make it think it is in USA
Get the gapps.zip from CM wiki... it'll contain the market (or get the market.apk itself).

In Malaysia, updates to google maps are not available for some ****ed up reason. It is very frustrating how google shuns markets outside the US. I have no idea why we dont have Google+, Blogger, Chrometophone (the list goes on)
However a workaround(bug) to this is just to wait for another update to come along in your android market. When this happens, there will be an option to update ALL apps. Choose this one and google maps will update and install as well. Just be patient, or download an app that gets updates frequently

Ever thought about it's not Google mocking you but the government restricting the market in MY to get certain apps?
Especially those apps you mentioned leave an impression that tools enabling quick sharing of opinions are blocked.
Market enabler? Tried that? Fake one of the US providers and try searching again. If not, google that .apk and install it manually...

Google Play Store is not the right choice to distribute your app in China.
There are lots of local android store/app market, but only 3~5 app market can drive you major downloads.

baidu mobile market, tencent mobile market, and...
but I am not sure if these are correct translation for you.
Baidu: http://as.baidu.com/
Tencent: http://android.myapp.com/
Depends on ur target population. I hear most young ppl are using Google play.
Andreait15, maybe you're not yet aware that Google Play is not all that popular in the People's Republic of China. Here are some of the popular apps stores in China that you can upload your free app on:
Anzhi: anzhi. com
Gfan: apk.gfan.com
D.cn: www .d.cn
Xiaomi: app. xiaomi. com
AppChina: appchina. com
Also the two apps stores mentioned by uuOuu are a plus.
Can someone from outside China to submit an app to these stores?
I could not do it.

Huh? Why not? What's wrong? Aren't the links to apps working? Are you trying to submit your apps in one of the android app stores in China or is your IP address blocked?
Perhaps the fault is mine and I chose the wrong way

Hello,

I tried to send an application to Mumayi.com. Unlike most Android Markets, you don’t need a government issued ID from China to register a developer account on Mumayi. I cannot send links but search "mumayi submit app" and watch the blog of Daniel Zhao.
But the problems I found were these:
- Adress: I was forced to add a province of China
- Phone number: I was forced to put a phone number in Chinese format
Apart from this, it was not in English and the Google translation was not very good so I ended giving up.

Oh that's really a problem unless you have a Chinese friend who would be willing to help you on this matter. It's difficult to read their language.
It's not only the language.
There are issues like the need of a government issued ID or the inability to fill in information with data from another country

Back to Android after four years, bit lost on some unrelated things...

I just need some help if someone is willing...
1. I just moved to Canada from France where I used to have an Android phone and Android tablet. I've changed every single location setting imaginable in every single settings menu on my new Blu Life One X and STILL the Play store insists on showing up in French with euros. Where do I make this change? The new phone has a Canadian SIM and logs in all day from a Canadian location. Even Google Maps knows where I am.
2. Notifications are pop ups to tell you that something is new in an app: a message, an update, etc.
Syncing is the application connecting with servers to update data.
Notifications seems easy to find but is there one SPECIFIC place to stop both of them if one wants? I feel like there are apps doing background syncing that I don't want to be doing so and can't for the life of me find where to get them to stop.
Thanks for any help guys. I appreciate it.

Are you sure the language setting is correct in your system settings? It may have to be set to Canadian(French).

I'm assuming so that the phone itself instead of just your apps would know which region it is in, therefore, showing the currency for that country. Using just location services may not be enough.

Not necessarily French but at least CANADIAN, its about getting the phone set to the correct region, not necessarily a specific language. You WERE in France so I suggested French, that's all.

Sign into Google Wallet and click the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
Click Edit next to the "Home address" listed and update the address (please note this is different from the "Address book" which holds shipping addresses).
Open the Google Play website and navigate to any paid item available for download at Android Apps on Google Play.
Click to begin a download until you reach the 'Accept and buy' screen (no need to complete the purchase).
Close Google Play and clear your browser cache if you're on a desktop or laptop computer.
Wait 30 minutes.
Re-open the Google Play. You should now see the Play Store that matches the country in your legal address.
(If this doesn't work, remove any existing cards)

Google Camera privacy policy?

I was wondering please if someone with a Pixel could check if the Google Camera has a privacy policy in the app itself? Either via an online link from the app, or within the app itself?
The version installed on my old Nexus 6 doesn't seem to (there's a generic built in help, but I couldn't find anything by searching for privacy). But of course, that may be a rather old version of the camera app!
Thanks in advance!
No one
Under help there is a link to privacy policy, but it just a generic google services privacy policy.

Thanks! I'm a camera developer, and was just curious to see how Google themselves interpret the rule about requiring a privacy policy.
To clarify - that's a link to an online site that opens in the browser? (The Google Play policy says "within the app itself" which is vague as to whether an online link counts.)
And is it to http://www.google.com/policies/privacy ? (This is the link that's on the Google Camera store listing - yeah, I had noticed that it doesn't actually say anything about Google camera's use of camera permission or anything about the app specifically at all, unless it's buried in there somewhere...)

Google Mobile Service for OPPO Reno Ace (China version)

Dear all,
I am very interested in the OPPO Reno Ace Gundam Edition, which is only available in China.
I do intend to pre-order it when it is available for pre-order.
However, my concern is how do I install GMS to the Reno Ace (China version).
Where can I find the installation guide & apps to install GMS?
Hi, do you know if it will work on T-Mobile or AT&T? i really want to get it too

GAPPS are installed defaultly, it works fine.
As for the support for t-mobile, I can't give a conclusion. (Cause T-mobile is not available in China, and I had never used it)
I had experienced this device for a whole day and I have to say, Reno Ace is a brilliant device but the only shortage is it's a little heavy and thick.

If you look at the specs it has many bands. It has the ones I need for Rogers in Canada, which usually means it will also work on AT&T in US.
Vendor is pre-installing Google play before shipping to me but this can usually be done via relevant apk file.

I haven't checked all that as yet like I said I have only had it a few hrs so far the necessities are all good to go for me that is cuz I don't use Google pay and so on u might have to check that one urself but just to help you out a bit cuz I'm at work currently I went and downloaded Google pay, while it was being downloaded I went into nfc and turned on tap to pay at the time I only saw oppo's wallet app after the download finished the Google pay app popped up and is active in the tap to pay area and ur able to select it instead of oppo's wallet app sorry I can't be of more help but it looks promising. Will give an update if I get the chance to use it
I have had mine for a few days and likewise it seems to work well with the Google services. I only have two issues:
- I am not able to permanently change the default text app (I usually use the Google messages one). It always reverts back to the oppo one. Reading other forums, this seems to be an intentional coloros feature. Have you tried this?
- for some reason, the Google calendar app icon has Chinese writing (the label under the icon). This is the only app doing this. It is not a problem as it works fine but I am intrigued... Have you installed Google calendar and of is it in Chinese?
Tks

Out of the box I tried to get play service I found the by typing in Google play SERVICES apk and just getting the most recent eg like here:
https://m.apkpure.com/google-play-s...CeHpBQ1F0TG9mcENBTUwxcTFKRl91NVZEUG5LNzlsTE8.
After I got it I tried to install it the phone gave a prompt saying play services is already installed I was puzzled so I tried 3 more times each time it said the same thing "play services is already installed to install please remove the current one from the device" so I said ok it must be on there
Went into the phone setting couldn't find it so I said let me try something else I went and got Google play STORE apk instead here:
https://m.apkpure.com/google-play-store/com.android.vending/download-apk-info
I installed that and it worked flawlessly so I'm sure play services comes on the phone itself hope this was helpful
