I'm using an HTC Legend and find it quite annoying that whenever i enter a word that android does not recognise it immediately adds it to the dictionary.
So, quite often if i misspell something in a search box it will be saved to my dictionary. I have to quite regularly go in there and clear out all the nonsense words otherwise they come up as suggestions when typing a message. Is there any way to disbale the automatic dictionary adds? Then i can just do it manually when i need to, ill surive with the extra work load
cheers!
There sure is!
Under my HTC keyboard settings I go to prediction and dictionary. From there check the setting to disable auto add of words to the dictionary. It literally says "no auto add words".
Either I'm missing something or my phone is different as I don't see that option.
what device are you on?

Still haven't got anywhere with this. It's really bugging me, having to clear out my dictionary quite often.

I am new to android having just come over from the darkside.(iPhone). One thing that I miss from the iPhone is that when I visit a web page in mobile safari, and then exit the application, I could come back to the application and find My web page still open and any windows still open as well. Is there any setting I am overlooking that would allow this behavior on my android?

Its called home button, dont worry, it wont consume memory
Sent from my X10a using xda premium
You should be able to press Home, open whatever else you want to use and still return to the Browser as you left it. Android will keep the Browser state in memory as long as you don't open too many other things in the meantime, otherwise it may be booted out to free up memory.
Long press Home to switch between apps that are in memory.
The home button solution works okay, thanks guys. Does anyone know if there is a way or another browser application that will allow me to keep those windows open indefinitely?

Staying happy is hell so difficult........But u can make me smile with a bit of cooperation. What cooperation? Guide me like ur friend through each and every step
Here, I've coded this in a weekend when I ran out of ideas for my other project, and just wanted to share it with you
What it is?
XPlayR is a remote bluetooth gamepad (no analogs for now!) implementation to be used with the XPERIA Play.
It implements an InputMethodService in the server side to send key events to the controlled application.
As there are no non-rooted way to inject touch events into the UI, i'm not bothering to implement remote touch events (i.e. On-screen controls only games, like games that doesn't fully rely on key events). If anyone knows how to do it, then tell me!
Actually it's designed to support up to 4 clients (a.k.a. 'Controllers') via button mapping at server side (only 3 possible mappings are implemented), tested it with 2 controllers at a time, but don't know what would happen if more than 2 clients are connected, as I saw some lag because it uses bluetooth, there are some keycodes that are available only after SDK 11 (min version is 10) and maybe the device could handle only a number of key events at a time.
Installation
Install the client on the XPlay's that you would like to use as gamepads.
In the server (tablet or somethig like that), you must enable and change the input method to that of 'XPlayR Remote Pad'
Remember to change this setting back after you finish gaming because it doesn't handle text edition for now!
How to use it?
First, you must pair the clients with the server, using the device's own method to do so (i.e. Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > Pair device...)
Then in the client, open the menu, and select 'refresh devices', touch the server name, and then wait for it to connect.
Remember, the fastest to connect gets controller 1!
You'll know what controller you got looking at the LEDs on the bottom of the screen.
I could've made this a paid software, but I'm too lazy to do so...
Also, I like to return something to the community because what I get from it (ROMS, KB, and so on) is far expensive than what I'm giving.
Tested it with RetroArch, DraStic, PPSSPP and Mupen64Plus AE on a Galaxy S4 i9500
Server and Client attached.
So, hope you like it
I did what you said to do and then it just keeps getting errors saying unable to connect :/

Bluetooth was on? Have you enabled the input method in Android's settings? Tried to re-select it after the error? It gives any exact error? What device(s) are you using it on?

Gesendet von meinem Nexus 7 mit Tapatalk 4
I installed both server and client in a xperia play, xperia mini, and a galaxy S4, ranging from GB up to JB. they ran fine, just some random FCs when BT was off. I need logs to search for possible bugs in other roms.
Retroarch was hard to configure because it has a somewhat complex input config, it's not very user-friendly atm
Some other emus like the *oid series doesn't correctly catch key events sent from the server, at least on my setup.

It works great!
xPlay is gin2kk and it works without problem on Xperia ZL in ppsspp.
Only problem in client (Play) is when in landscape mode (slider open) and when is to much paired devices, i can't scroll down, but once deleted list of other paired devices, i can see and connect without problems.
Thanks again

As some said, what the Xperia Play really needs is an app that allows to use it as a gamepad for PC. THAT would be awesome.

Hello Dear
I am wordering to have an app like Super BT Hack (For S60V3) through which you can read others sms, contacts and make the others phone ring via BT. Is there any app existing with such capabilities. If yes then name it and if not please develop it because it is a very good tool to keep an eye on the activities of your loved ones.

How about an app that modifies the original Samsung keyboard to allow text shortcuts (i.e. when "u" is typed it automatically replaces it with "you")

I found perfect site for creating apps...Yesterday I ended up on some site called apps-machine.com . I have to share it with you guys. I started creating my own app and after 15 minutes clicking on their control panel(no programming, just clicks) I made app in what user could make effects on their photos, paint photos, play music, play videos, have notepad, chat and stream music. They got literally 1000's of features on their control panel I think this could be a gold mine And I read something that they have free app development and so on. Aaand you can change everything all the backgrounds,colors,tabs...and you instantly see it on that same page through their simulator..don't know how they managed to do that but it is super handy...I am super excited at the moment..time to get some apps on apple and play store
