I sucessfully turned on the software keys for ics. On the skyrocket and will be uploading a 4.0.3 framework-res apk. That only has this modification done. For those who wish to have included in there roms

Download the above. Rename to framework-res.apk
Do a nandroid back up ...then push it to system/app
Then make another nandroid backup. So u can restore either
When ever u want.
I will be making blue key lights for anyone who is intrested as well.
So give me some color requests you'd like to have.
This framework is themed. But I will upload. And un themed version

Yeah but some people like them. Personally. I love them on my galaxy nexus. I made them blue and they look really cool.
But thanks bro. Way to make the first post in my thread a negative one.

Here it is. Make a nandroid backup before and after pushing this to system/framework
Renane it to framework-res.apk and replace your current one
How do you make the recent apps as a single app in itself? Or is it possible
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Very slickā¦ basically, you can turn off the Touch Pad lights and use this. So, when are you making a blue one???
Does this work on the T989?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
It should work on t989.
Try it. It won't brick u. At most just a boot loop .
So make a nandroid and give it a try. Anyome with issues take the metainf folder out of your framework-res.apk put it the one I posted. And then push it
Just realized something.
You mean push to /system/framework/
not /system/app/
Just notice the mod file cuts off the camera app buttons on the sides. Anyone having this issue? Really like this mod.

Is there a way that I can make a transparent SMS app?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Decompile the apk and edit (or replace) the png's in the framework-res folder (from the mms.apk), once done recompile the apk.
That's if you're willing to learn those things or already know how. I'm assuming you want it for cm7? If you gave me a day or two I would be willing to do it...
"these are not the droids you are looking for."
Hi I'm interested in this as well but I have no framework-res folder when mms is decompiled.... I have drawables folder but no pngs that appear to make up the body just buttons... it appears to be XML based... I'm on an odexed ics rom. Is this possible?

Rename SecMms.apk to SecMms.apk.bak, and copy new apk. Fix permissions
Also rename the odex file to .bak. Reboot

This is cool. I would love it if someone would just invert the stock look to get rid of all that ugly dark blue Samsung uses. Flat black would be a huge upgrade. Is there anyway you would want to do one with out custom icons...just straight inverted stock?
Renamed original .bak . Placed in system/apps. Fixed permissions. Getting a FC whenever I try to get into messages, and if you try to change bubbles and backgrounds it does do right either

Wouldn't you need the new Odex file also?
Would u happen to have the old one? Not a fan of the new one
Wouldn't install for me. Copied both the apk and the odex file to system/app but it was a no go.
Edit: also fixed permissions to rw-r--r-- after reboot it did not install so I tried to install it by tapping on it. After a bit it came back as not installed.
What about the old gray one? It looks much better

Here's the old grey keyboard for those who were looking for it. Extract zip and install, if that doesn't work move the apk into system/apps fix permission to rw-r-r and install, if the install fails then reboot and it should install.

I saw in other thread that you need to mod some framework files to get QuickConnect working, so, you'll need a developer to make this work.

Maybe the chances are null unfortunately. There're no much developers in the s4 forums, and I'm still a noob. I can edit xml's, decompile, compile and some stuff, but I don't know about editing smali files.

The same here. I can do the basics, such as decompile and recompile apps, and edit apps and replace PNG's etc, but that's about it (for now). Its sad that the international S4 forums has so few devs and themers.
