Hi folks,
I would greatly appreciate some expert assistance.
I have two HTC Sensations.
The First (my daily use):
MID: PG58***** (appears to be a genuine Sensation XE. Tho not the headphones...)
CID: 11111111
Baseband: 11.69.3504.00P_11.22.3504.07_M
FW: 3.32.401.105
Android: Codename Lungo 4.4.4
(Not the most stable, but clean and I really wanna keep the KitKat)
The Second:
MID: PG5813000
CID: VODAP304
Baseband: 11.76C.3504.00P_11.29A.3504.00P_11.29A.3504.18_M
FW: 3.32.162.52
Android: Android RevolutionHD 7.3 XE (Mike1986)
(Runs real slick but has the 'WiFi Error')
I would like to know the best, latest firmware upgrades for these, and as well as the most recommended custom KitKat ROM available, and whether it's really worth bothering with flashing the radios. FOr the second one, I may take it back to stock HTC before starting again.
All advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Stuart

i recently ugraded the firmware. but didnt notice any special difference.\
use 4ext recovery...
for kit kat.... my personal faviorate is liquid smooth.. very very stable, no specific bug, fully working wifi and v4a drivers, second choice imo will be carbon rom..
for second phone use viper 5.3.0 (Latest version). u will forget all other roms, smooth, fast. fully loaded . best battery life, wonderful camera.a new link to download5.30 is added at the end of viper thread on second last page, i think .
ps dont forget to make nandroid backup from 4ext recovery, and from 4ext recovery go to tools then in the last line enable smart flash *if ur S-ON)
HI abuulala,
Thanks for the response.
Will installing the Viper ROM un-brick the WiFi?
Cheers,

yes it will... i had the same issue .never had this issue after viper rom
wifi is i think just regional issue (mismatch btwn wireless nrgional setting/mobile network settingh)
viper rom does not have this wifi regional issue, just remebner to use... wipe all partition except sd card option and then flash rom
or if u dont want to change rom...
alternatively u can install wifix manager from playstore, make sure your wifi is on off position. then start wifix manager it will ask to install wifix, choose yes and reboot, after that once ur phone is fully rebooted.. start wifi and check wether it is working or not

Of course the problem is still there, you have restored everything. Try flashing another ROM, updating your firmware, and maybe updating your battery to a better one.
None of the thing you listed seems strange to me. I also had this problem, until I bought an Anker battery.
I suggest you also flash bricked kernel, it's the best in terms of battery

No why do you want to flash version 1.2.1?
change your CID to superCID and flash whatever ROM you want. Yes you should update your firmware version to 3.33 universal. You can find it HERE
The latest version of ARHD is 6.7.2 HERE
I suggest you try a sensless ROM, they gave me better battery life. You could try HyperNonSense HERE
Good luck!
You can come back to your stock ROM, but you'll not want to. Custom ROMs are much better, they have a lot of extra features. Just find the custom ROM that suits you

Yes you can change your firmware back If you wish. Remember for ANY ics Rom to run the required firmware is 3.32 or 3.33. That's very important. I'm running 3.33 and can use any ics Rom I wish to use . But it won't be a problem if you want to revert back to 3.32. It also will run ics. I hope this helps and clears it up a bit for you. So if your running 3.32 or 3.33 with ics you will be fine. And yes after upgrade to 3.33 if you wish you can easily go back to 3.32. As for a Rom ,try out a few and see which one you like best , its a personal decision. Best wishes

actually i want to install android revoltion hd 1.2.2 tmous rom than should i upgrade my firmware to 3.32 to 3.33??
and radio also??
i want to install this rom directly in my stock firmware version 3.32 and stock radio version.
suggest me? ?
Hi there, you can go ahead and upgrade to 3.33 to be on newest firmware if you like.you must be on either 3.32 or 3.33 its a necessity but if you want the newest firmware then upgrade to3.33. I upgraded and didn't have to change my radio or ril. Unless you are having radio issues after 3.33 upgrade you can use the same radio and ril. I did without problems. To upgrade firmware place the pg58img file on sd card, boot into bootloader by pulling battery, put battery back in then the device will detect the update press power for yes. Once it updates DELETE the
Pg58img file or it will continue to update over and over in bootloader. So don't forget that step. You will be good to go after that. Hope this helps.

[Q] Sensation - "Wifi Error" or "Wifi Turning on" but nothing happens....
I am a newbie ... but i have already installed several roms , firmware, kernels etc....so i think i get the basics.
I downloaded from XDA ... and installed tha CyanogenMod 10 Jellybean 4.1.2.
Now i face this WIFI error...
CASE 1 (95%)
When i start the phone everything seems to be ok, i click on Wifi, and it says (TURNING ON) but it never turns on or OFF for that matter, and it stays like this infinatelly.
CASE 2 (5%)
When i put the phone on charge durring the night, i look at it in the morning and WIFI works fine, but after say 30 min ... its OFF and then we go back to CASE 1.
I googled this a lot.... tried many sollutions like, Wifix, deleting the supplicant file, flashing the Boot.img again etc. but nothing...
ANY IDEAS ????
When i go into bootloader i see the following info :
-Revolutionary-
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.12.100
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-V05.6.0.2226.00.0418

give it a try again but this time disable smartflash
smartflash it is only for S-ON devices
Hi I was running jelly bean also and my Wi-Fi wasn't connecting. I reflashed my rom WITHOUT smart flash because we are S off. I wiped cash, wiped dalvik cash, wiped data factory reset, then tired again and my Wi-Fi connected! You might try this. It worked for me. If not try the apk wifix.you can find it in Android theme and app I believe. See if those two things help. Best wishes.

My phone was Vodafone Branded
The guy i bought it from rooted it ... and used Elegancia Rom.
Then i installed the newer version and then again it worked fine.
2 months ago i installed revolution 6.8.0 and flashed the new firmware 3.33 as i remember with (hboot_8x60_1.27.1100_20120113_signedbyaa.nb0)

6-7 days ago the wifi-problem appeared out of the blue.
AND THEN I STARTED GOOGLING IT... INSTALLED VARIOUS ROMS, Revolution 6.8.0 again, Elegancia Sense_4.1_V2.2.0, Clockworkmod 10, and so on but no luck.
I tried Wifix , no luck
I tried deleting the supplicant file form data/misc/wifi ..... but no luck
I reinstalled the firmware file PG58IMG and tried some more... BUT STILL NO LUCK,
Phone works ...
BLUETOOTH works
APN works
WIFI - Doesn't work SO .... WIFI HOTSPOT doesn't work also ..
ANY IDEAS ANYONE ???
When using WIFIX ... and press *#94349# + call ... i get the error -> Connection problem or invalid MMI code
So no luck there either
Because it is simillar topic, I just want to add my +1 to problem with wifi on Bruces CM10 ROM... when turning on and off wifi, phone sometimes frozen fo about 10s and then goes reboot...

i can only think doing this way now
using an ruu.exe returning your device back to zero and starting again with rooting
but you will still have S-OFF
see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425
read it carefully
So you mean i should flash the oldest RUU corresponding to my phone ...without changing from s-off to s-on ???
ITS GETTING ALITTLE BIT COMPICATED NOW !!!
PS. how about changing to another firmware say back to 3.32 ?? doesn't that flash a new Radio and kernel .....so new wifi settings ?
Also ... should i mention this if i go into bootloader --> USB cable --> fastboot and "getvar cid" the result is -------> 11111111
if i use an application called GetCID ..... it says VODAP006
Which one do i have ???? I know i changed it to 11111111, but why do i get different readings ??? whick on is the correct ?
thanks !!

ok try to change fw first to see if it will work
about cid you have supercid(1111111)
the app shows only the default cid
the good for being S-OFF is you can flash whatever ruu you want
but try first to use 3.32fw version
edit:changing fw surely changes radio but i am not sure if changes kernel
because kernel is including in boot.img and boot.img is including in the rom not in a fw zip
but let's hoping
I will try changing the Firmware ....to 3.32 tonight, and see whst happens.
Which rom do you suggest !!?? Do you think Revolution 6.8.0 would be ok .. ??
I am not sure if 3.32 is ok with any rom .... or if its ok with ICS roms in general ..
ANYONE ????

the difference between 3.32fw and 3.33fw is only radio upgrade so any ICS rom should work in that fw
Revolution 6.8.0 is very stable rom as reported from many users but i have never tested it by myself
I have flashed the CWM 10.1 JellyBean 4.2.2 ROM, and so far everything except WiFi works.
The WiFi turns on but then it keeps saying 'Searching for WiFi Networks' and it stays like that.
I have reflashed the ROM a few times and it still doesn't work.

or why not just setting a region code like I do?
go to wifi advanced settings and set a region code, whatever you like except europe, then go back and immediately turn on wifi, don't do anything extra like going back a step more. if it worked in this way, you have to do this every time after every reboot.
Try flashing 2-3 different roms like sense 3.6 and sense 4.1 roms and check if wi-fi is working. If yes then it is a kernel problem..try flashing a kernel suitable for jb roms like cm10.1 and the wi-fi should be back in action.
I'd like to give a simple recommendation: When you first boot into the welcome screen just after flashing an asop rom and gapps, the phone will search for wi-fi networks to log into the google account. Connect to wi-fi at that time and the phone will save your wi-fi configuration permanently (at least until you reflash a rom)
Hope it helps :good:
Hi all , I had my sensation for a long time , and suddenly i decided to unlock bootloader s-off it and do a custom rom
at first i unlocked the bootloader via htc.com method
then I kept my device s-on and flashed 4ext
i flashed revolution rom and everything was fine until one day the apps like facebook and whatsapp didnt have an internet connection through wifi
only 3G connection , although i was connected to wifi but no response
i tried to reflash the rom but then the wifi didnt work at all , kept going on again off again
i thought i should make s-off
i used jupotntbar method ( wire trick ) and s-offed my device
i tried the rom again nothing happened , all was wrong
then all of a sudden my USB didnt read at all , anytime i plug it in it is on charge only mode and doesnt appear to connect to the pc , i tried different PCs but no luck
i tried changing radio and ril , i changed the recovery , until i installed CWM recovery ( using rom manager via 3G ) and the wifi was on again and sometimes it fails but it works .... still no USB
if anyone can help me i would donate and thank him a lot
i cant go to a service center becuz i have none in my country
sry for posting a long tiring post :crying::crying::crying::crying:

What happened seems quite weird, but sometimes happen. Did you try another ROM? Sometimes problems start without any apparent reason. When it happens you can either wipe your phone and start your system anew, or you can flash another ROM (again with full wipe).
As a personal preference I prefer 4EXT recovery, but if you say clockworkmod works best for you, keep it. I don't have enough understanding to know the impact of the recovery on regular usage (I know it has impact on when the phone is off).
Try another ROM, that would be my first advice. Or maybe even RUU (Since you got S-Off now, I suggest you get yourself SuperCID. There is a guide in the general forum).
Here is a list of ROMs that worked flawlessly for me (or at least without any apparent bugs):
albinoman's CM10.1 (no HTC sense, awesome ROM if you can live with AOSP)
ViperS 1.6.3 (works great)
ViperS 3.1.2 (apparently works fine, but since this ROM is fully ported (awesome work of SebastianFM) there might be the occasional glitch)
AndroidRevolutionHD - I used a (much) older version and had some issues with wifi (fixed with a newer version), but a good ROM.
And most other ROMs work fine as well, just didn't get to try them myself.
If nothing helps, after you get SuperCID, yuo can try using an RUU to restore your phone to stock. It will also flash the firmware and radio partitions, which might also fix stuff. After you get SuperCID you can use any RUU you'd like.
Good luck.

Hmmm.... That complicates things. It's allways a possiblity that this is a hardware problem, but let's try something else. If changing ROM doesn't work, maybe flashing firmware will help. Get a PG58IMG.zip file of either 3.32 or 3.33 firmware from this thread, and flash with the instructions of the thread.
Very Important! Check the md5sum of the firmware you download, as it can permanently brick your phone if it's not flashed correctly.
Good luck. If that doesn't work, I doubt if anyhing will. If you do manage to get USB connection, I suggest RUUing anyway, to get a clean install for your device.

Then I'm afraid I'm out of suggestions. Just to be sure. Did you try another cable? What did the computer recognize (in device manager, it should show something for the device as a USB device)?
This might lead us to a new direction.

On what ROM you're currently on? Did you perform S-Off method after returning to Stock? For S-Off the prerequisite is Rooted stock ROM.
I faced this issue when I was on MIUI ROM and my PC didn't detected my device. I suggest you should flash the ViperS JB after a Superwipe. It have MTP support and it let the PC and Phone access SD card at the same time. I am sure it will detect your device after flashing ViperS JB. Also try uninstalling the HTC drivers from your PC and install the latest HTC drivers. I am not on PC otherwise I would have shared the link for latest drivers. Also try connecting your phone with original HTC Cable and USB port 2.0.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e
for the latest htc drivers see here

by the way you can flash a ruu.exe without pc via pg58img.zip

Hello,
I'm very new in Android world and I know about nothing but since two weeks I have an One mini and I discovered it was rooted, so I've tried to understand what I can do to improve it...
Android 4.4.2
Sense 6
N° 4.14.401.1 CL372462
HTC SDK API 6.20
Kernel 3.4.10-g3862988
and @ ABM101 # 1 SMP PREEMPT
1.25.40g.00.19_10.31.40.1111L
TWRP 2.8.5.0
... here is what I can read in the bootloader screen:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
M4_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID 1111111
HBOOT 2.22.0000
RADIO 1.25.40g.00.19
OpenDSP v19.2.0268.0927
OS 3.10.502.3
eMMC-boot 1024
In the SD card, there is this file M4_4.14.401.1_Stock_v3.0.0.zip, I think it cames from http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...-official-stock-sense-6-rom-firmware-t2817921
So if I am not wrong I have the stock ROM.
I would like to try another custom ROM in order to have better battery management and better battery life.
If it is possible, also "tape to wake" would be nice, but if it is too complicated to install MLG I will not install this future. I'm a totally newbie!
I like the experience with stock Sense 6 ... so I am looking for a very stable ROM without any known bugs. The simplest the better !
Can you suggest me a ROM+kernel for my purpose ?
PS: the mic doesn't work, I've ordered a new one, hope it will work.
I've already done a backup with TWRP.
Thanks !
Marco
try insertcoin 3.7.0 for the most stable build and better performance and sense interface. I'm running cyangenmod 12.1 and it's running quite stable for me and is just beautiful because of lollipop. but other users had issues with that.
kernels are within both roms.
Hi Rosi91,
thank you, I've read some threads about InsertCoin 5.0.8, but someone has bug with blutooth that's why I wait befor install it!
Insertcoin 3.7.0 could be nice to try for me.
Some more information about installing it.
Can I install the ROM by simply flashing Insertcoin3.7.0 zip file with TWRP in recovery mode?
I've some problems with USB drivers, sometimes it works and sometime not. I've tried many different drivers. So, if I can flash it by using TWRP that is better for me.
Does it need some other action before flashing the ROM, like change partition layout or... what ?
Does this installation wipe completely my SD card ? I mean, I would like to keep the Stock ROM zip file in the phone memory, to be sure to come back to stock if needed.
Cheers,
Marco

I think you already got the newest layout with your hboot version. So you can just flash it via twrp. You should be able to keep the files on your phone but save them first anyway
Thanks Rosi91
I will try this ROM in the next days !
Marco
... I'm reading IC thread but I cannot post there
So, does one can install Xceed kernel with IC 3.7.0 in the way to have more battery life/option ?
Marco

Ok
I've installed IC 3.7.0 + Xceed kernel + Synapse as pure.by suggests in IC thread p. 156.
The screen didn't work, then I reboot the phone it's working well. Also T2W runs !
Hope it doesn't crash...
I've and old HTC Desire X with Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4+, the internet browser allow to read web pages without banners, that's very useful option but I don't find it in IC 3.7.0.
I've also downloaded the last upgrade of HTC browser ... but it still doesn't give this option. Do you know how to enable it ?
Cheers,
Marco
since it's rooted, try minmin guard to get rid of the ads if you're using exposed framework or adaway. you could also try another browser with adblock plus extension.

Ok, I will try... but it's not the same because with the old browser option, not only the ads was avoided, the page was re-opened in a new totally cleaned window , no images, no colors, no ads... like a clean text file. That was nice to read
