I tried several time downloading the factory image file on my pc, everytime whenever the download is 1 second away from finishing,it says network error and the download fails.
This is the link and it keeps failing, does anyone have another link I can use ??
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
I had the same issue, I solved it by downloading with Firefox and then clicking "retry" after it fails, it picks up where it stopped and downloads the last part (in less than 2 seconds, it's always at the end). I used a checker to check the MD5 and SHA-1 of the files and they check out, so the archives don't get corrupted or anything with this method.

Big problem
I can not download from hotfile anymore. I quit out of firefox while the march 13 Sense 2.5 + Cookie ROM was downloading, and when I started it back up, the download could not resume. After I went back to hotfile to download it again, it says that I am still downloading the file, and I can't download two files in parallel.
I go to there FAQ, and they say I have a proxy server, and that the only solution now is to get rid of it or become a member, which is complete BS.
Any solutions?

Had this same error before. Closing down and logging off computer did the trick for me.
Alternatively, do as I said above but also do not attempt to use hotfile for a day
My infuse when turned on goes to a screen that looks like phone ! pc with the message "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". So this happens even when I try and go to download mode or recovery mode. Basically as soon as I hit the power button. I'm really freaking out. It was rooted and I was doing following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523
Then the problems started when my computer didn't recognize the phone in download mode. and then it was recognized so I started the Odin flash. Then it froze at cache.rts (I believe that's what Odin said, I can't get to it anymore)...So I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and did it again and it got to factoryfs.rfs before it froze there for a really long time. So I unplugged it and tried to do GTG Ultimate Unbrick...but I can't get the .zip file to open. My computer keeps telling me "Can Not Open ____ as archive". I re-downloaded it and same result. Is there anything I can do to save my phone? I'm a real idiot and this kind of stuff always happens to me no matter how much I read up on something and make sure I'm doing it right. I would really appreciate a little help though, thanks!
I actually got it downloaded and followed Rammstein874's video on youtube on how to do it and I am once again stuck on factoryfs.rfs :-(
What can I do at this point? It is still stuck at the Phone-!-PC screen when I try to go to download mode. Please help, I'm starting to get pretty worried about this...
When your screen is phone!computer, that's an alternative version of download mode. You can either use ODIN or heimdall back to stock. Just plug it in via usb, allow odin/heimdall to recognize it and start flashing.
This is correct....if you see those pic on your phone that is a form of download...i would run the one click method...

Sorry I was at work all day.
This is the video link I used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1HgcZrYR_4
I am also looking at the following one-click method posts:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
* I used the above link (or tried) and it didn't seem to work either. I downloaded Heimdall Suite for Windows 64bit and then installed the drivers and plugged in my phone in download mode. But then I was unable to get it started...I used the "Stock_SGH_I997_UCLB3_Repartition-One-Click.jar" file I found on mediafire (because all of these posts link to mediaupload which is no longer working). Anyway, so I tried to run Heimdall-frontend.exe on windows and once it opened up I connected my phone (nothing turns green like the post says) and hit browse. I chose the jar file aforementioned and it said "tar header contained invalid file size."
So if someone could point me toward a more up to date thread if I'm using the wrong one and kind of explain to me how to get around the other problem I'm having with the jar file then I would be forever appreciative
Not sure what you did...not saying you did something wrong but here is what I do, below are how i perform using qkster's method...
The USB + Volume Down + Volume Up Method: Download mode (Noticeable by an Android robot digging with a shovel) is reached by taking everything out (Battery, SIM, MicroSD). plug in the USB cable to your computer and phone then putting in battery at the same time Holding the volume buttons both up and down, (Don't press the power button at all in this method).
How to INSTALL:
1. Put your phone into Download Mode.
2. If you have not used Heimdall, you will need to set up the driver for device recognition.
3. Once your device is connected, the DEVICE STATUS should show: CONNECTED. The long FLASH bar will also turn on for flashing.
4. Click on the FLASH button. (In my opinion: I recommend that you do this in a safe environment. Do not disturb your phone will flashing this firmware. Turn off Antivirus. Do not run any other programs, upload/download/youtube/burning DVD etc)
5. Once it has completed, your phone will reboot. You will hopefully see the ATT logo and reboot into STOCK UCLB3.
6. If it did not work, you will have to put it back into DOWNLOAD mode and reflash a second time, with the FLASH BOOTLOADER box checked. This is more likely if you never had proper Gingerbread bootloaders on your phone, if you are coming from FROYO or if you never had Odin a Gingerbread leak to get your bootloaders.
download this file for your one click to stock...and using above directions...
once that is done and you want to put CWM mod on for flashing a custom ROM, same directions to get in to download mod...
download this file to use the one click to put CWM mod on your phone
here is the link where i took all this...

Right, I did those things from that link itself. I think the problem is actually with how I'm using Heimdall. I downloaded the suite version from here: http://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/
I also downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio C++. So I feel like it should be working...but the problem comes when I hit browse to attach the jar file you linked to. It says the "tar header file size was incorrect"...so am I doing something wrong in the way that I'm attaching the jar file to go back to stock? Could you or someone else please confirm that process and/or check the jar file for me to make sure it's still up-to-date? Sorry for the trouble, I'm just not sure what I can do at this point if I can't get Heimdall working. I can't flash after I attach the jar file with the error message either, it doesn't recognize my phone when it is attached in download mode (which is coming up just fine now without the phone!pc thing for some reason).

Is your phone still stuck on the phone-!-pc ?
did you read the last post he had regarding the actual heimdall program suite...
not sure what he had going on...I believe he has download mode capability...
thx ''Goshujin-sama'' qkster
Yeah..that's where I wasn't sure what sf was doing.
the jar file is self executable. When you click on the jar file, there is a load up delay.
Then should be be ready.
You then hook up the phone.
I've not seen in tar header file size error.
Sf should not be trying to stick the 1-click file into heimdall front-end.
It's a single self executable jar file..the is no other dependencies...the only other situation I can think of is maybe putting the 1-click jar file onto a different PC and try running it there.

Oh man I had no idea...I was so mixed up by trying to educate myself with so many posts about using Heimdall. I thought I had to download Heimdall separately and attach the jar file or something. But okay so I ran the one-click. It failed the first time (expected) and then I checked the flash bootloaders box and hit flash again. Then it stopped at installing drivers and prompted me to install the drivers on the following prompt. So I did that and then it said installed drivers successfully and I hit close. Then nothing happens. So what do I do at this point? I'm probably being an idiot again but I really appreciate you guys trying to help me out. And I hope you realize I'm trying my best to not waste anyone's time.
The device status was a green Connected before I started by the way. At this point what I do? It seems to just break at the installing drivers part...?
It should of rebooted it self the phone...

Once the connected bar is on, you click flash. It should complete it's routine. the phone reboots. you should click on the boot loader box. you disconnect. let it finish. set it back into donwload mode and flash again.
you can try different usb port or data cord or different pc
Plus you have my master...qkster here...cuz you lost me on the programs you were using...so i called in the jedia master!
As long as your screen has that Phone! Computer sign, it's not bricked yet. I recommend you to search some how to videos online so you can see the exact instructions on how to use heimdall because it's that easy. If possible maybe one of our awesome contributors can make a how to video for heimdall.

I read the extensive and well written guide, and posted this there to no avail. However whenever I get the Unlock_V8.rar from ASUS, and unrar it, I get an APK that appears to be invalid. It says "There was a problem parsing the package". I tried this using multiple browsers and apps to DL it and even tried installing it on a totally different device to see if the program's launch-- my smartphone. Didn't work there either, same error.
Does anyone have a coherent version of this APK?
I tried using the V7 unlocker and it keeps saying there was an unknown error, probably a network error, but there are NO network problems.... every other program connects fine. In addition I tried using multiple Internet connections to get the unlocker to work- nothing. I registered my device's SN on ASUS' web site weeks ago and still nothing.
If it is helpful I am running Android JB stock from Factory, version 4.11, TF300T, PAD-EC20T-0216, dock version DOCK-EC20N-0207,
JRO0C3.US_epad-10.4.2.1720121018 ... hope that is enough info. Thanks so much for any help!
EDIT: Also note I do not have access to any other computer at the moment. I had to sell mine and now all I have left is the tablet and the phone... therefore I can't try to use ADB and the SDK to do the unlock. I have to do it from the tablet... thank you!
Use zarchiver to unrar the Asus unlocker.

I made a link here for you
Unlock_v8.apk - 629.65 KB
I had the same issue and was able to extract the file with unrar a free app I found in the store.
Thx for the link ... unfortunately I get the same error. The file DL'ed just fine and it seems to be the exact same size as what I get when trying to extract the RAR (I tried 4 or 5 different archiver programs on this machine and the phone). I've no idea what to do from here.
Inside the APK, I found a bunch of resource files like little icons and an XML file but I don't see an executable. Shouldn't there be one? Thanks.

Just click on it in file explorer and it will do the rest You must have install from unknown sources enabled in security options.
That's what I'm doing. It immediately responds with "There was a problem parsing the package." Also, that option is on.

Well that usually means the download is corrupt......
It doesn't appear to be, though. I even got it from 3 other mirrors and unrar'd those. I don't know the structure of an APK but there are coherent image files in there, just no executable at all. I am starting to think ASUS has a bad file on the server to begin with...
I did not make a back up (lesson learned...) and erased everything.. There is no OS loaded on it and the only thing I can get into is TWRP and Fastboot Mode (Just shows logo).
Strange thing is, I used the Mac Toolkit to root and unlock boot loader but as far as I know, not it's saying that it is not rooted (When it indicates "Not rooted; install SuperSU to do so?") and also in some cases, it displays that the boot loader is locked as well. I do have a PC to work with (which is super slow but it works..) but OSX workaround would be ideal.
Please help as I hope the phone is not bricked. I've looked around the forums for about a week and can't seem to find a thread where there is a similar situation.
Dummy-101 instructions would be very much appreciated!
While you have the device booted into TWRP you should be able to copy a ROM from your PC to the phone using the MTP connection. So just download a ROM + gapps to your PC, copy them across, and flash.

That's what my initial tries were; but there comes an error when trying to flash a ROM.
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Download/[ROMName]' (Trying to install BlissPop)
From there I shut things off until I can figure this out.. that's where I encounter
"Install SuperSU? Your device does not appear to be rooted. Install SuperSU now? This will root your device. '
I swipe to install but does nothing and shuts down in a millisecond.
Is that the only error you get? What's the full filename of the ROM file that you're trying to flash? Are you checking the md5 after downloading the file?

It is indeed to verify the integrity of the file. At the download page you can see the ROM zips and directly below each ROM zip is the md5sum file too. Looking at the md5sum for the file you're trying to flash I can see that the md5 should be 85bdc2efffa404bf5864555984628665. So you need to use an md5 checking app to ensure that the md5 of the actual file you've downloaded matches that.
I'm having the same issue. tried wiping, md5 checked, it matches, this problem still persists. any ideas?
EDIT: doh, flashing firmware update fixed it
I have a question and am curious if others have seen it and know how to resolve it.
I am by far not new to Android and mods, custom ROMs, etc but I ha e come across something that I just can't seem to get around.
When I try to download something to flash via TWRP, or install by most any other method, over 90% of the time I cannot get an md5 match. I have tried Chrome, Dolphin, and a couple other browsers, too. Is there any other way to get a good download straight to the Pixel with downloading on the PC and copying it over??

You sure have an interesting dilemma. You can try download a small file multiple times, then use WinDiff to compare those downloads. If they match exactly, but do not match the original md5, then the issue is most likely local, and not the download source. Or, if they're different from each other, then your problem is also local. Have you tried a different PC with the same Internet connection?
As far as your other question, unless I'm misreading the question, why can't you download to the phone directly? Most of my downloads go directly to my Pixel's external storage. I don't usually touch a PC.
You understand my question. I discovered the issue trying to download TWRP RC1. The file size is 8.65Mb and I cohld never get a good md5 match downloading straight to internal memory. I started to doubt if the md5 mismatch was actually true so I tried to flash it and it failed. TWRP Alpha2 reported a corrupt zip file. I downloaded via PC, copied to storage, and then got a good md5.

So is your problem resolved? They just sound like bad downloads to me, whether that's by unreliable connection (stop and restart of packet transferring), or corrupt packet verification, or some abnormal task on your PC that takes a good download and saves a corrupted copy of it. I know, I know, some will say that there's no such thing as a bad download since CRC and other algorithm prevent that. And they're right. However, a browser can still create a bad file from a valid download.
Not resolved. Until I figure it out I download via PC and copy to device. One added bonus is I can download to a flash drive and use the adapter to plug it directly into the Pixel.
Oh, I did notice that the bad md5 files also differ in size. Seems to happen most when using Chrome.

The other benefit of using an external drive is that you don't run into the TWRP decryption issue, where your folders and files are jumbled up. Data on external drives are not encrypted.

I read that, too. I honestly haven't had that issue. Yet. The first couple times I used TWRP I wasn't prompted for a pattern at boot. I found if I power off then boot to TWRP manually it always prompted me first time. Since doing that about three times I haven't had an issue since.
****Update****
Ok, after sitting back I decided to "Go back to basics". I uninstalled all browsers on my device. I then reinstalled Chrome and tried a download, failed to get an md5 match. I then reinstalled Dolphin and downloaded the same file. Success, I have a md5 match. Seems that Chrome browser is the problem. Not sure why it wouldn't work on Dolphin previously but I have successfully downloaded four times now.
