What will happen when i root my galaxy note 3? Is it gonna delete all my data? Answer me quickly please
Sent from my SM-N900 using XDA Free mobile app
Root won't delete your data, it will just install the su binary and a superuser control app.
Rooting won't remove any data. It will just install a su control app, su binary and make your phone more awesome!
I was reluctant to take the rooting step. However, it can breath new life into your device and there is lots of help on the forum.

It's not root itself that improves the device, it's the modifications that require root.

How can I know my phoone is root or unroot? After I root my phone, what should I do next? I am newbie to Android. Please help me.
GET RID OF BLOAT IF YOU HAVE ANY! DID U GET SUPERUSER PERMISSION WHEN YOU ROOTED? TRY SOME ROOT APPS IN THE MARKET . WHAT KIND OF PHONE IS IT?
Yes.My phone is sony x 8 and I root with superoneclick but I can't see superuser
in menu.How can I do?
i blve there is a app in the market that will check for root but im not sure of the name! i use superoneclick also and it showed up in the app drawer after reboot
download terminal emulator.
then open the app and type: SU
if u get asked for root permission, allow it.
then u should have a # instead of a $ in the terminal, if thats all the case, u are rooted, if not, the root failed
You can download root checker from the market, it will tell you if you're rooted and if busybox is installed. Superuser should be in your app drawer if you are rooted.
But why would you root if you don't know what it does, the benefits of rooting, and what you hope to get from rooting?
Educate yourself. Read the forums and anything you can find before making any system changes. Then, when you're comfortable, flash a rom.
I use Z4Root on mine. Allows perm root as well as temporary root if needed.

root always provide with superuser or superSU, which I don't need them in fact, I want to grant any app permission they want, how can I do that.
in other word, I want to root access without the permit of superuser or superSU

why so for example you want a app that you might download that seems fine but gets root access (and as there no manger gets it right away) and then steals all your info and then deletes your android fiel system...sounds good to me

Well you should beable to just manually install the SU binary and check its working by typing su in the terminal app or something...

That is exactly why I post this question, I don't know where I should put the su binary in.

The supersu website has a flashable binary so you can just flash it from recovery (or open the zip and see where it gets put)

not working, every apps need root stop function after uninstall supersu then flash the su binary
The su binaries are written for the su control apps, they probably refuse to grant su without the app being installed.
A not so unwise security decision.
Isn't there an option in SuperSu to grant root to all by default?
i just rooted my phone using motochopper. and am trying to use ltm launcher. every time i open it, it says root context not able to get permission.
and then when i go to the superuser, it says the superuser binary (su) must be updated. and it ask if i want to recovery install or just install, but none of it works. i even downloaded supersu from chainfire and it says there is no su binary installed. so i need help getting root permission to apps so i can get lmt launcher to work.
i read an old post with they guy with the same problem and u told him to flash it with something but i am not really sure how to do that. so if u can kind of explain how to do that.
thanks

Just installing the super user app from play store doesn't root your phone.
SuperUser app only manages root permissions. It itself does not root the phone. Head over to your xda section and read there how to root your phone .

Like I've said I have already rooted my phone using motochopper. That's not the problem. The problem is not getting super user updated

Did you follow the official rooting procedure as given in your xda forum? Because if your phone is rooted then you won't face any problem related to SuperUser app and updating binary and all these stuffs.
I've had the same problem as listed above.
I have some questions about root.. I have searched for the questions below but i didn't get my answer.
1. Uninstallation of superuser cannot effect to the root? (Just confirming)
2. After uninstalling superuser will i be able to install more root needed apps? apps data will automatically install in their respective place just without any superuser permission..????
3. After unrooting phone root needed apps (which are installed) will work fine or not? and will i be able to uninstall those root apps?
Answer me plz..
Thank You.

1. Uninstalling of superuser with clean Unroot will Remove Root Binary from System and will effect Root, as without SU app you cant play with Root..
2. No, You Can't.
3. No they won't Function. You can uninstall Root apps if they are in System Folder other you will be able to uninstall.

But tell me one more thing what superuser does.. i think superuser app only gives the permission to the root apps to install something in root area.. right? superuser app work is just to allow or deny the permission to the app right..?
So if i don't unroot my phone and if i just simply remove superuser app then i still should be able to install root apps in the root? because my phone is rooted.. and i have just removed superuser app which gives permission only.
I think superuser only gives the permission to the app SO apps will be intall in the root just without any permission of superuser?? this is what superuser does ONLY?
I think i am misunderstanding something about superuser.. Correct me please if i am wrong.. :good:

Yes,
It gives permissions to access, modify your Root area[Restricted when you are Non-Rooted].
No,
Removing SU app will remove permissions with It. So after that you cant use those Rooted app which you gave Permissions when u had SU App.
Note:- Without any SU app you can't Play your System Files..
nor your rooted apps will work..

S4 mk2 i337 soft bricked...
This is the link I started dealing with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
Problem is, I uninstalled a system file or two...or 15...and now the phone will start up, but no apps show up, just black screen. I can navigate still and work around it, but what i CAN'T do is give permission to that batch file once it recognizes the phone.
Obviously, I didn't know what I was doing, so I didn't realize that unrooting it wouldn't solve the problem, so I need to root, and then somehow get my system files back in place. Titanium Backup says my back up doesn't exist...pretty frustrated, I've spent 10+ hours on this site and some others trying to get back in, so I apologize upfront for possibly missing a post elsewhere

You can delete SUPER SU if you have an alternative super user app. These apps hold a list of permissions for your other apps that need special permission. I prefer SUPER SU over others, so in my opinion I would just keep it installed.

But,If I remove SUPER SU will it effect my rooted phone.
Don't remove it (uninstall)
Because it manages root permissions....
If you don't like that icon just hide it from drawer......
you will not lose root after uninstalling this app.... But for good management of root permissions.. Your should keep this.

You Should Not Remove it.. It Is Required For YOur Phone to be rooted in simple words
