Hello everyone Ill try to explain as best as I can.
The Problem:
recently my nexus s 2.3.4 stopped loading every time I reset it, at first I didn't put any thought for it just plugged my battery out and in again until it got on.
than it got more frequently and I had tried to a couple of roms thinking it that can do the trick, but it didn't
What I tried to do
I followed a guide of restore to "Stock-GRH78-Nandroid"
yet the problem stand still, the only thing I just figured recently is that my phone never did actually made a correct "wipe data/factory reset" (more details at the attachment), and that runing that function is necessary for fresh restore.
the only posts that I found for that kind of problems (factory wipe) was for different types of phone and the solution were using the "Odin" however as my understanding Odin doesn't work with nexus s.
I did my best trying to google a solution and search the forums with no success.
Im adding a picture of the errors while trying to run factory reset.
any help will be much appreciated, thanks!
Alright, here's the issue. I messed up real bad with my phone. I own a Moto E 1st gen (XT 1022). After receiving the Lollipop 5.1 update I noticed that I didn't have the multi-user option on my phone. Did a little googling and I realized this option was not available to Moto E users for some reason. After a little bit of searching, I found an apparent way to fix this by replacing the build.prop file in device/system with an edited build.prop. I tried doing that in hope to get the multi user option. But somehow it didn't work for me and then my phone didn't boot up correctly. So I tried restoring a backup I had earlier created using TWRP. That didn't work either. So then tried clearing dalvik and cache. Even that didn't work.
But here's the most terrible and stupid thing I did after that: from the wipe menu of TWRP, I checked all the boxes (cache, system, data, EXTERNAL SD EVEN) and cleared everything...!! -_- Now trying to reboot shows "No OS installed. Do you wish to reboot?"
So basically, its a complete junk now. It won't boot up. Just shows the bootloader unlocked warning.
Please could anyone help me reviving the phone...

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Looks like all is not lost yet, should be about to fastboot flash those images (system, recovery, etc) back. Consider your device factory reset though (as in, all personal info lost).
Please create an account, so you can post in the rest of the site. Then, venture over to the > Motorola Moto E > Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum to explain your predicament in hopes of getting stock fastboot images (or any other solution they cam come up with).
Hope this helps, and good luck!
So day before yesterday my dads phone asus zenfone 2 (Z00AD) went into bootloop. it kept booting repeatedly never making it to the home screen. anyway, he took it to asus repair and we got the phone back today. its back to normal but all data is lost. (We had not backed up anything) I downloaded a few android data recovery softwares like mobikin and dr fone but they require the android to be rooted to scan for lost data.
Now my question is, do you think its possible to recover data once the phone has been flashed? I am apprehensive to do the rooting and will only go ahead with it if there is a real chance some lost data may be recovered through such android data recovery softwares.
Please advise. Should I go ahead and root and give it a try?
thank you so much in advance.
You should have backed up before taking it the center(you could have flashed a custom recovery and enable mtp mode and backed up to pc).after a stock ROM is flashed chances of recovery is almost nill.
Just one question, why did you take it down to the shop? It is easy as hell to fix a bricked device. I remember taking down my device to the shop twice and got a new one twice but I managed now to fix it. You will most likely have gotten a replacement for your device. Also, if there is root availible for your device, there are stock rom images to flash via fastboot.
im new to all this rooting and flashing stuff and i did search quite thoroughly before resorting to posting on here. Ok so somehow i rooted and took the system app TextNow off of the phone since then ive tried hard resetting but now all the phone does after booting it has a little txt box that pops up over and over so much so that its impossible to do anything but power down and it reads" unfortunately TextNowOOBE has stopped...... Ok" . How can i fix this.... Ive reset the phone through recovery and cache partition both have been wiped. Plz someone help me

#1 rule make a backup in recovery before tinkering
Aside from restoring a backup, the easiest way to get your phone working again would be to flash a fresh ROM. For example, Albertos AOSP is quite stable and up to date. You will need that ROM.zip and a compatible gapps.zip. wipe everything clean and flash those in recovery.
You will lose all your data.
I do not know what TextNow is, but if you need the "stock ROM" you may need to restore factory firmware via PC- you will lose all your data
What exactly are you trying to do?
Hi all,
I recently took the plunge into the Android world of things and loved it. Everything was going according to plan, until I decided to try out the DSU loader and load a GSI package. Based on everything I read it shouldn't had cause any issues, but unfortunately it did. Once I rebooted the phone I received the dreaded "Your Device is Corrupted and Cannot Be Trusted" message. Unfortunately it all went down hill for me from there. A couple of things I know now and shouldn't have done without knowing more information was performing a "Format and Download" option on the phone. Had no idea I was going to loose other partitions that is not created by the flashing of the Rom.
I was able to get the Manufacturer Rom and flash it back to the device. Everything appeared to be working fine until I noticed that I was not getting any data for the battery management option. Another thing I noticed is that now my battery is rapidly loosing it's charge. Could this be related to the Cache Partition not being present? Is there anyway to get the Cache Partition back or recreate it by rooting the device? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Glitch
