[Q] Vibration from phone when using speakers above 70% volume! - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
Do you guys feel any vibration on the front or backside of phone when you listen to music from speakers and above 70% volume.
Especially on 100% volume. I can feel the vibration or what it calls now when i put my hand on back of phone.
Even slightly on the front glass when i type a text message i can feel the "vibration"
Is it normal or is my phone defect ? I have the Z3 D6633 Dual.
Sorry for my poor English

Normal for me. I recommend this phone for all my deaf friends! lol.

Sound = vibration.

So in other words you guys feel the same as me with your Z3's?

Yes--I have that same experience. Sony needs to work on the volume intervals as well. There are around 6-7 notches from 0-100%. At the middle, the volume is very low compared to other devices. Then at 80% and up, it gets super loud. It needs to be a gradual volume increase. Also, I feel that the 80-100% volume cracks too, so maximum I would go is 80%.

This vibration is absolutely normal. Not only on the Z3 but also on the Z3 Compact I own. Nothing to worry about.

Yep, as other pointed out its normal.

Earpiece quality?

Does anyone have some information about the earpiece quality?
On the Nexus 4 the quality was very low as on lower volumes interferences from the wireless signal could be heard. Also i don't like phone on which the lowest volume is still much too loud.
Any experience would be very appreciated.
No we dont have any information. The phone isn't even in peoples hands with the exception of media sites.
Just wait until you receive the device and conclude for yourself (or wait for others for a full-review)
Mine's in my hand. The earpiece quality is excellent, it's very loud and clear, the best I've ever encountered!

Got my phone right here.. Already have it for like 6 hours (has been shipped today)... Did not test the headphone output yet...
Sound quality is excellent through earphones..Plenty loud..Im pretty impressed with the speakers to..More bass and clarity than the N4.. Turn the volume up on Dead Trigger 2 or listen to some dance music and you will see what i mean.
Ok, thank you very much for your answers :good:
I'm only interested in the earpiece volume. It's nice if the speaker is loud enough but i don't want the earpiece on low volumes too loud. Even more i like it if it's very quiet for on the lowest levels as i'm not all the time in a noisy environment.
If the earphone output is also quite low on the lowest level i'd appreciate that a lot. I had troubles with every Android phone so far, except the HTC One X+, beeing too loud. (And don't start a flamewar. Some people can't get it loud enough and some like phones who are able to adapt to the ambient).
Hi,
Can you tell me if you can control the volume with a wired headset ? (much like the iPhone... and unlike my Nexus 4)
Thanks !
Mine has stopped working...still makes a sound when maximising the volume but I cant hear anything in a call.
Is the Nexus 5 compatible with HD Voice on T-Mobile USA?

not as bad as N4
When on a call on the call volume is low you can hear a faint distorted signal. It kind of sounds like the phone is working on other tasks in the background more than a distorted signal to me. It's faint but kind of annoying when you realize it. The N4 was worse though.
Has anyone else noticed this is or is it just me?

Speaker noises when playing sound on low volume.

I noticed that when I'm sitting in a completely quiet room, when I play a video and set the volume to 1 bar, the sound is so bad you can hear literally only buzzing and other wierd noises. It's absolutely fine at higher volume levels, I guess the noises just don't get louder. And I'm wondering, because I have this phone for like four months, and I'm not sure if this got worse than it was at the beginning. May it be due to cleaning the dust with compressed air? Should I remove the cover and check if everything is ok?
Also, it can be heard better if you're holding the phone right by your ear, please check if it's the same for you.
It's really noticeable when listening to people talking, hard to notice when listeting to music.

Hello
I am not having any of this issues
Probably a manufacture issue
Did you try to test it via the service option test?

There's a lot of play in the Camera button - it's soft (presumably for focus) and rocks a bit (easy to engage when pressing off-center). I imagine this is entirely by design.
Volume rocker is much firmer and even clicks louder.
I have the same "problem" in my Z3. I thought it was normal.
My z5 has no problems with the speaker when playing music, youtube, etc. but the ringtone(when someone calls) is very soft on the left(top) speaker compared to when I test it in sound settings. The right(bottom) speaker seems to be fine(same volume as music, etc.
I don't face this problem, but my right/down speaker have a little bit more treble and less bass than the upper one. But you can hear that only when u hold it by your ears. Not a problem for me, but does anyone have that too? Maybe its because of the build process, in my HTC One M8 there is more bass in the upper speaker too, but the speaker is also a bit larger than the bottom one for some reason..

There's probably limited space on the bottom as there is a usb port right behind the speaker port so the speaker can't be placed in the middle. They will place the speaker at the side and add a tunnel to reach the speaker port. There's also another possibility that the daughter board is limiting the power output of the speaker.

Xperia Z3 volume increase acting weird

Hi,
I have changed lcd screen on Xperia Z3 and earpiece speaker, and phone update some app "system" not full rom as is on lastest 6.0.1 didn't look what apps installed.
So now I notice that have little louder sound and quality is good when is on full volume up setings, and that is Grat it is lound and quality sound amazing.
So what bugs me is and I don't know is it normal or not, but stepping from zero (lowest setings sound) it is super quite like I bearly hear it untill I go to 50% from like 60% to 100% stepping is verry big, sound volume change rapidly like it is not linear any more is exponential ... any one can check on their Z3 how volume incrise goes?
Thanks and best regards,
H.
I think that is how the phone always behave. Because my z3 has the same problem, I think that is one of the z3'a flaw.. But I don't know what others will think

Broken top speaker on Low frequencies.

Howdy...
For quite some time i had the feeling Music doesn't sound quite right on max volume.
So today i made the Test and it seems as if my top speaker is broken.
I've recorded the whole test so you can hear it too (put the volume to the max...) and you know how i've tested to see if i'm the only one or if this might even be a common mistake on the XZ2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot3rFUuC7sQ
Reproducing: Use any Frequency test Video or app or whatever. Set the Volume at Max.
You can hear the top speaker crickling/flattering between 250 and 1100hz. Everything above that is clear.
If you reduce the Volume below 50% it's also clear.
Anyone has a Similar issue or am i alone with a broken speaker?
As a musician, I can tell you that driving a pure sine wave through any speaker for any length of time will damage and distort it
That being said, alot of speakers don't handle any sound at full volume very well...even crystal speakers / drivers on phones, you do get signal/music drop out, distortion as certain instruments and signals vie for superiority within the sound space..
If the music is fine at about 95% of full... Then that's normal... if it like that at 85% or lower, could be a faulty unit..
These are very small crystal drivers... and will, if constantly ramped up full will become distorted over time, due to the sheer stress on them of constantly being vibrated all day long very fast.. this is why, on phones it's best to take the volume to about 90% max... because theyll sound rubbish above that...
If it's bothering you though friend, I would, just warranty or return it if you can
Hope that helps ?
