So I have been using Fstrim premium since its release and I am unable to use it on the Shield Tablet since the lollipop update. Does anyone know of a fix? Yes I am rooted, unlocked bootloader, updated boot.img the works. Can't get terminal emulator to open in rom toolbox pro, or Fstrim premium to work. Any ideas?
does anyone have an answer?
I still cant find why fstrim no longer works. Anyome have any ideas?
I think FS trim has been implemented since 4.3 or 4.4 so there is no need to manually trim. I hope that helps.
Fstrim is present in Android 5 Lollipop so no need for using it seperately.

I just got my xoom back after getting the 4G LTE sim installed and the 3.2.2 version of Honeycomb.
I have rooted it again and restored my apps and data, but am stuck on a lot of things work related since there is no kernel that provides tun.ko and keeps 4g working.
Is there a kernel being built that provides tun and 4g or maybe possibly a Moray type rom that has 4g support? (That would be super sweet).
Dude the only one was in the universal root thread. If you changed kernals I think your stuck till we can get the img.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
I used the Universal Xoom Root process available in Development. It gave me back root access and superuser, but the kernel is still stock and lacking write access to the microsd card and tun.ko in the kernel so that IPSEC VPN connections work.
Was just searching around to see if a kernel with 4g support was in the works. Was going to use the Rogue kernel, but there is a post about waiting until it can be updated to handle 4g access.
I will just sit back and monitor the forum for an update.
The Tachi kernel is working for a few people so far. I don't live in a 4G area (VZW says it will be here next month), only work in one so I can't test the LTE yet, though the 3G works fine from my home.
I've identified a few minor annoyances and work arounds as compared to running the kernel (and Moray ROM) prior to 3.2.2 HLK75D as listed in this post:

Interesting... I installed File Manager HD, enabled Root Explorer (in the settings menu) and it prompted for Root permissions. It works great. The next step in resolving this is going to be remounting the external1 device on boot to enable global write support. As I'm not so well versed in Android architecture to do that, I'll use MicroSD Mounter manually on boot.
The final step to getting this all sorted will be for me to figure out how to mount usbOTG devices, If anybody has experience with that on this kernel with a 4G Xoom, I'd very much appreciate it.
I figured out my problem with usbOTG support... I needed to added the "usbOTG" folder in the "mnt" directory using Root Explorer and then install a mount manager such as USB Mass Storage Watcher OTG

This will get you set up with R/W support for the external1 folder and usbOTG, VPN support may be in there as well since the kernel supports it, I however haven't tried it nor have I read about it being tested as functional on the HLK75D build.
Sadly solarnz announced he will not be working on a 4G Tiamat ROM due to life getting in the way, this means we will likely need to wait until another dev gets caught up or until ICS gets released to us by Motorola (fingers crossed for next month) before it gets any easier.

See the arcturus kernel thread over on xoomforums... there is now an open beta for a postupgrade kernel if you want to try it
Hi Etchg,
I had a similar issue. I sent my Xoom in for the 4g update. When it came back I rooted it. Trying to vpn into work (ipsec) I found that my new kernel 2.6.36.3-g6963abe has no tun.ko file. I found some instructions online and compiled one myself. Attached is my tun.ko (You will need to unzip and put in the systems/lib/modules directory. If your kernel is exactly the same as mine then it should work. BTW, with the new tun, I have successfully VPN'd into my work.

I just came back to this thread and saw the tun.zip you uploaded. I tried to open it, but it tells me it is corrupt.
Can you either upload it again or use dropbox and send me the link?
I was able to extract the module and load it on my Xoom. I have the same kernel, but I keep getting an authorization error when I try to connect. Darnit all to heck!
I fixed the authentication issue I was having. Thanks for the module...works like a charm.
Thanks for compiling the tun.ko. It works correctly with Cisco AnyConnect for Rooted Devices.
Glad to help
Hi Guys,
Been absent for the week. Glad to hear that you got it downloaded and working!

This always comes back as corrupt for me. I've tried everything I can think of, but I can't extract the tun.ko out of the zip. I haven't been able to create my own either, so I'd really appreciate someone posting this.
First a disclosure, I'm a Windows network guy so I know my way around symlinks and vhds and that ilk, but Linux / Android just isn't letting me do what I am trying to.
My goal is pretty simple: I want to migrate all the erroneous files laying around the /sdcard/ to folders that are more organized. Ideally, I would like to be able to scrip this process so the things I use regularly and the things people I work with use regularly can be 'formated' similarly since I'll want to do this for my other androids I own and I'll no doubt have a few (not necessarily a lot) of people who see my system and go "DO WANT" (it happened with my Windows setup, so I expect similar).
The problem I am having is not only can't I can things to "stick", but I can't even get a script to work at all.
I've been most successful so far running down my list through ADB, but the problem is, when I reboot, everything resets.
I've also tried writing a script and running it through the below version of busybox:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.busybox.installer
That just errors out completely =(.
The links I am trying to make are as follows:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gbieej5genkzwk0/Symlinks.xlsx
The script I tried using is as follows:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kajafjlzzy0bcm6/mount.sh
The resource page I am using for Linux commands is as follows:
http://www.ss64.com/bash/
The resource page I am using for ADB is as follows (though should be obvious!):
http://developer.android.com/tools/help/adb.html
The device I am currently working with is a Galaxy S3 T-999 running Slimbean 4.3, though once successful, I plan on implementing these on changes on another Galaxy S3 T-999 runing Slimbean 4.3, a Galaxy S2 T-989 running Slimbean 4.3, a Galaxy S1 i897 running Slimbean 4.3, a Transformer TF201, a Vizio Co-Star running Stock Vizio (maybe if it doesn't make me want to kick it, which is the more likely outcome) and an Android AK-802MiniPC running Stock Jellybean.
Heck, maybe I'll try to tear the offal iOS7 off the iPhone 4 I inherited and try to install Android on it and do that too, lol.
Thanks for any help!
You may want to research how to set up your init.d

That pointed me in the right direction --- The app you tossed at me illustrated that the problem is in fact that my Kernel doesn't support init.d and that's probably where all my problems are stemming from. Thanks!
That Universal Init.d app seems to get around the problem, but I think I am going to look into another kernel. I know from experience the Cyogen kernels are compatible with the rom I am using. I'd prefer to stick to Slimrom because its such a nice, slim setup, but I guess that means if I have too many problems and my primary goal is cross device compatibly, Cyogen might end up being my best bet.
Hi i want to know if the fstrim procedure (with lagfix or from terminal) works also on xperia z3 (stock rom and cm12 based roms) or can cause a brickbug.

Auto TRIM was added in Android 4.3. No need to manually perform.

Upgrading from 4.1.2 broke luks manager for most ROMs. With a little playing i have had a little success using superuser over supersu.
(I read some place the issue had to do with multi user support and the way permissions changed)
Before I spend the next week pulling my hair out seeing of I can get a usable luks container mounted in Samsung's android 4.4.2 or liquid smooth 4.4.4, has anyone written a Mount script for android?
(Or knows of a container mounting encryption on android that does not require a new kernel)
Thank you for Any information
Looks like the original developer has stated up development of Luis manager again.

Hi, guys I have a problem using bcmon on my HTC nexus one although it is compatible with this mobile but I don't know what the real prob is monitor mode can be enabled easily but whenever I open bcmon terminal or anything else from bcmon it force closes please help me guys......
Working solution
It comes from the pre-installed super user program; delete it in /system/app and install the latest su binaries from TWRP.
Then reinstall bcmon.
Oh you have installed cyanogenmod 7.2 right ? If not got to needrom and you will fond it there.
It's all wrong and here is how to solve it and were it actually comes from...
The busybox you find around are not all the same and the crashing point is the program 'cp' when you look at the log.
There is the stericson apk but it's not available because it requires a newer version than gingerbread...
So you just have to flash a busybox, but not any as said it might not be compatible, forget about getting the busybox 40 from these trash sites that embed viruses in their files.
The best rom for nexus one (in my opinion because evervolv crashes) https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723844
then if you need the gapps https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294152
and finally the compatible busybox https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-busybox-flashable-archs-t3348543
