Hi Moto G forum
I am coming from Galaxy R i9103 and this is my first post with the moto G (which I am very happy to have). :good:
My wife is working on a project and we are looking at buying another laptop. Recently I saw that you can connect a keyboard and mouse to our Moto G....
My question is....Can we also connect a monitor? So in total 3 devices keyboard, mouse and monitor?
If this is possible what things would I need to accomplish this? USB hub?
Something like this?

The real question to answer is, does android have the applications your wife needs to complete her project?

As for the monitor support. From what i have heard the moto g does not have mhl or slim port support. So you would be limited to using a miracast device it seems.

Moto g is not the replacement !!

a laptop is a laptop and no mobile phone can replace it !!
You can use cast screen to connect your android device to other devices as projector and you can use moto g as a keyboard too (use Xperience 18 kernel + app from play store), but the question is : can you complete your work with the same efficiency on a mobile device, as compared to a laptop??
I suggest you buying an ultrabook : light, fast and smooth !!

The combined cost of all three of those will probally earn you a chromebook or perhaps a basic laptop. A phone is not a replacement for a computer.
Nowadays smart phone becoming more than a laptop.
I play graphic games and make video calls with front camera.
My old laptop still dual core but moto g quad core! Well apart from display (screen) size I feel nothing great in laptop esp ultrabooks.
Being thin ultrabook it gets heated and cannot handle heavy duty apps. Had the experience from Dell ultra thin laptop model at office pathetic performance.
By heavy duty I mean software designed for 8 GB RAM.

I m having tough time choosing between Moto G vs Lumia 820. I know at current $200 price point Moto G is hard to beat. majority of people will straightly choose Moto G but the point is, currently I also have Galaxy tab 2 7 on CM 11(android 4.4) . I know my tab 2 is not a phone but I m little hesitant to own 2 android devices because tab 2 and moto G probably have same when it comes to performance. but despite that I m not sure whether to go with a Windows 8 phone like Lumia 820.
the biggest turn off points with 820 is its weight, low pixel density screen and mediocre camera . I know windows 8 has its own problems like lack off apps (specially if you are too Google dependent), missing notification center.. I know Microsoft already addressed that they are gonna integrate a notification center and a virtual assistant for upcoming Windows Phone 8.1.. but despite all of that I m still very hesitant to try a Windows 8 devise.. so is it worth owning a Windows 8 devise like Lumia 820 compared with Moto G ?? really appreciate any help...
First you need to decide if you want a Windows phone or Android. If you want Android, then sure the Moto G is probably the best bet right now.
I owned the 920 for a while, stunning hardware, just stunning, but the OS is poor. I wouldn't try another Windows phone until the next iteration (9?)

I own both a Lumia 920 and a Moto G and both are good phones with its strong and lesser sides. They simply cannot be compared os they have different OS`s, different kind of users, costumisation options and their own limitations. If you want to tincker a lot on your phone get a android phone, if you don`t want that and want a out of the box phone that realy works well (even on a dual core) you may get a windows phone. Personaly i`d go for a 920 instead of a 820 because of the much better camera with optical image stabilisation.
Windows phones aren't bad. Just like the iPhone its os is smooth and Has great simple functions. BUT that's to me where it stops.... The app selection now for window phones are horrible. What i mean is theres alot of third party apps for most common social media. No official instagram app but has a third party app called instance that does the same thing. While some do work well(sometimes better than the official app itself) others are plain horrible and haven't been updated in months.... So you might want to check to see to see the apps you use are on window 8 market. And also there's no custom Roms etc.. But you may not care for that since your considering the lumia anyway.

I used/owned both.
If you want a phone that works and gets the job done - go for WindowsPhone - no custom rom headaches, no battery drain, no blabla.
If you want a great selection of apps and more control over the device - go with Android - Moto G.
Camera doesn't really matter on this level, as the pictures nowdays are the same - either instagramed to 600px or DSLR professional ones (or Lumia1020 ones).
hello everyone ;
well i guess i need some help to choose between tab 3 8.0 or ipad mini coz they are kinda same price ,, i just looking for durable device without lags ,, i saw some reviews on youtube and some vs videos about both and ipad was little a head in some game like tumble run and kinda smooth but i am kinda noob coz i am an android user for one year :$
i am going to use this device just for reading pdfs ,, viewing some media and may be some games
so i want to help me guys
I had both. Both have similar performance. Both lag sometime when home button is pressed. It takes a few secs to respond. The iPad lagged a bit playing asphalt 8. The tab 3 doesn't.
If you want best performance in the 8 inch tablet have you looked at the lg G pad? I'm looking to go that route myself.

If performance is your priority, go for an Nvidia Tegra Note 7 or a Nexus 7. Both 7 inch, but perform great.
For me, the primary benefit of the Tab 3 8.0 was to get the LTE version for phone + texting usage so I can stop carrying around an old phone to tether a tablet.

I am looking for a phone with high-quality screen for games, videos, movies who running things quickly.
ikett
You should also specify your budget as that has everything to say
Nexus 6, one plus one...
Note 4. It has the best screen and hardware on the market.
Or the Note 3 if your budget isn't that big.
The Nexus 6 is useless for Multimedia use. 4 HD films & 2 games and you're out of memory. No MicroSD slot, and not every country (read: no country) has 100% 4G or Wifi coverage.

haha trie old nokia brick fone
Any good phone right now would be a 1st Generation Moto X, an LG G2 or a Nexus 5. But that's for a midrange budget. It varies from 249-450? I think. A high end budget would be to grab a Nexus 6, Moto X 2nd Gen or an HTC One M8. I push away from Smasung because there devices seem all them same with new gimmicks that don't work 99% of the time. And for god sakes TouchWiz. Most (I said most) can stand HTC Sense and LG Optimus Skins.
Any high end device of the 2014 model year averages between a 5.0in display and 6.0in display, ranging from HD to qHD. The RAM is in between 2-3GB of it, so Multitasking is good. Storage is different. Most phones will be a bare minimum at 16GB or even 8GB. Try to get 32GB or 64GB if budget allows. Battery life....well no phone will give more than one-day performance with average use (excluding Motorola Droid Turbo, that things awesome at battery life). Software wise, every new flagship 2014 phone runs on Android 4.4.x KitKat or even Android Lollipop 5.0.x (even the midrange device listed are at the latest operating system) I think I covered what's important and what you might be looking for. Thanks for reading and hope you like what phone you get!

LG G3 is great, but i feel the 1+1 Would be hard to get hold off unless you get it from an external website. Unless you get n invite to buy a one plus one then that would be great
Nexus 5
Note 3 all. The way

Give priority to screen with PPI's and screen brightness.
I would of Note 4.
Note 4 for me :good:
Nexus5, Note3, Z3, G3, M8, etc...
Hi all
I want to buy an android phone and its not my first one i had SXP neo L before along time ago
Im a student and the best devices that i can afford are SXP Z2 , Galaxy S5 , LG G3 32GB , Galaxy Note 3 N9005 (snapdargon version) , Zenfone 2 (4gb ram 2.3 ghz version)
these devices are all great pros and cons problems they all have one but i want a device with a fair developement status and i want to keep it for 2 years i want a device which will work properly for 2 years until i upgrade
(before you answer you have to know i play games alot i want to watch movies i scan documents with my phone so camera is important)
can someone explain to me briefly which device is more future proof ? (is 64bit hardware important in my case ? is more than 2gb ram necessary for me?)
which device i can sell with higher price between these (after 2 years) ?
if your overall choice is S5 which version ? Exynos Octa or Snapdragon ?
Thank you , I would appreciate any comment.
(if you have other suggestions feel free to leave a comment like other devices ,Nexus 5 ...)
Save up your money and get the note 4. You won't be disappointed. The gear vr is the coolest gaming I've ever done. The S5 is a good choice as well.

As an S5 owner who's extensively used the G3 and Note 3, I recommend either the G3 or Note 3. The G3, in the shortest amount of words possible in my opinion, is an S5 with a better Android skin.
I think, for someone who wants to use their phone for videos and other multimedia applications, the Note 3 is definitely your best option due to the screen size, which also
allows for more processing and battery power.
That said, if you're interested in being able to mod your phone in a fashion that doesn't make you bend over backwards in order to do it, stay away from the Samsungs.
With regards to "futureproofing," if you really want a phone that will hold its value over time, buy an iPhone. All of these flagships will likely be supported by their mfgs for a couple years after their release. Each will get at least Android M, albeit up to 6-7 months after its release (LG is usually better about quick updates than Samsung). I have no experience with the Zenfone, unfortunately.
According to your choices I would suggest you to go for G3 . I have my hands on G3, S5, Note 3 and I like G3 because of its performance and camera clarity, Note 3 is also good. But my overall experience was good with G3.
My grandparents talk about them both need a big phone or tablet for the use of a reading religious books and video chatting with us. I considered Android tablets due to price and customizable software. Last electronic device they had was a shared flip phone and it got destroyed in the washing machine.
I want to see if you think these cheap devices would be good for them. If not what would be cheap &good?
Kindle Fire 7'
Honor 5X
Moto G
Blu Advance 5
Samsung Galaxy Tab A
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4
Blu Life One X
Thank you . :fingers-crossed:
