Hello,
Is it possible to put the t-mobile stock rom on my Nexus 5 so I can use wifi calling? I cannot find the stock rom anywhere on the internet, so it makes me think this is not possible. Is this correct? Is it a legal issue that prevents the t-mobile rom from being available?
Thank you
I'm sure there's only one type of ROM for the Nexus 5.

WiFi calling isn't available via T-mobile on the Nexus 5.

Ohh... I am an idiot. I thought it was
Future uncertain. Apparently nexus 6 and lollipop will get it in 2015 so it depends if there are any other dependencies we would need

I hate that the nexus s and nexus s 4g have such similar names! It leads to questions like the following.
Has the android 2.3.5 update been released for the standard Nexus S? I mean the non 4g one.

ive been wondering the same thing
Yea, I'd like to know the same aswell
No, it was only a fix for the sprint 4g reception issues, nfc and other bugs at this time.

There are some other improvements mentioned that may apply to GSM devices such as the speakerphone fix, enabling the secure element for NFC (Google wallet support), improved wifi connectivity (perhaps not isolated to CDMA devices) and TTY support. The 2.3.5 changes are being pulled into the CM build per a G+ post.
I don't expect an imminent OTA for GSM devices, but some of the AOSP changes (not baseband related) could be helpful for GSM devices.
Edit: Maybe it will OTA at some point in the near future: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16015703&postcount=7
Carbon beta rom (by Johnathon Grigg) has 2.3.5 for Nexus S

i noticed faster data connection,
i use to get H once in a wile, but now i notice it more, but still most of the time it's 3g
wifi works perfectly no problems
i never had gps issues, my phone always locked with in a second or 2
and with this ROM it does the same thing, it locked my location within 2 seconds
it also uses the new Market
try it, you can always revert back if you don't like it you can always restore your backup
but remember this is still beta
Whats the link for Rom?

Hard to answer because "out" is rather vague. There are not different Androids for different phones. The main gingerbread code is at version 2.3.5 and can be built for NS or NS4G or many other phones. But it has not been sent by Google to any phones besides NS4G.

I have a NS4G and have not been sent the code from Sprint yet. Shouldn't I have had it already?

I assume you mean the OTA and not the code. If you mean the OTA, it will roll out over several *weeks*. It is flagged by IMEI/ESN - once you are set for an update any subsequent checkin will yield the OTA notificaiton. Until then you will not see it.

Nope, not via OTA.
I have a new N5 and its unlocked and rooted. I get LTE just fine on the stock rom but when I flash any custom roms, LTE doesn't work. Even when I restore my backed up EFS on the custom rom, LTE still doesn't work. Anytime I nandroid back to my stock rom, LTE works fine. Any ideas or help will be appreciated.

Did you flash Sprint software? It could be the APN.
What sprint software? forgive me im new to this. I did make a backup of my apn of my stock rom and restored it when i flashed a custom rom, but it didn't make a difference.

I think there's some extra APKs you need to add to custom ROMs.
I fixed the issue. I unrooted and returned my phone back to stock. Then I found a sprint. Zip that you flash with custom roms and that worked.

I'm on Sprint and I've flashed most of the custom roms for N5 with zero LTE issues. Which rom did you flash?
There is no custom sprint software this is a Google phone.

Sent by mobile telephone.
Check the APN settings. On AT&T I have to tweak my settings to get LTE instead of H+.

Its a zip to flash after roms that sets the correct APN settings for sprint. I can't remember the thread I found it in though. But it was for the same issue I was having with my LTE/3g switching.

The reason I am searching through posts is this: my 3G works fine. But when it kicks over to LTE... Nothing happens... In a minute or two I may get 4 mbs or something pretty good and then nothing again. I need it to actually work. My wife has the same issue on her S4 and she is stock. It switches over to LTE.... Nothing. I have LTE off mostly. Steady slow 3g is better than no progress on LTE.
update profile
Should provide the correct settings in the custom Roms assuming the creator added the update profile features. I know cm does

Hi everyone,
Does Nexus 5 support Android 4.3. I am going to test a software compatibility issue. So is there any problem to flash 4.3 to my Nexus 5 ROM? Thanks.

there isnt anything 4.3 available for the nexus 5, so you cant just flash it. theres no 4.3 source for it, no binaries, no code at all meant for the nexus 5 and 4.3. so, how do you expect to just flash it?

Sorry, I don't quite get you.
Can I download factory images occam 4.3 for Nexus 4 from "developers.google.com/android/nexus/images", and flash it into Nexus 5. I am wandering if it works.

No. Nexus 5 was released with KitKat 4.4. There are no nexus 5 "drivers" that exist that will work with 4.3 because the nexus 5 did not exist then.

Yeah the rim does not affect the carrier. Why where you running a D851 rom on a D850? Wifi calling?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You dont really need to do anything as TM and ATT use the same LTE bands and share IMEI databsae info. I had a TM note3 that I used on ATT until I got a G3. The ATT sim will register you on the network and you'll want to make sure you have the correct APN settings ( The ATT store can do it while your there or can tell you what's needed) The only issue I had was the TM modem didn't always get great signal and wouldn't place calls in some areas. Not sure of G3 but ATT modem wouldn't flash on my note 3 via odin or otherwise... Cheers!

I just bought this freedompop [Nexus 5] phone - is it true that the hardware is exactly the same, so you can flash any rom you want as long as you don't wanna use freedompop?

Um... depends
Is it a Nexus 5? If it is, then yes.
As title says, yes it's a nexus 5.
Is that to say the process is essentially the same as any other Nexus 5, provided I'm wanting to do away with the Freedompop software?

The default setting for your Nexus from Freedompop is under Sprint network. You can change it to GSM. It requires several reboot but not too hard. I hope the video helps.
