I'm having an issue (sometimes), when I tap on camera icon at home screen the camera app flashes for a moment and I'm back on home screen. I've tried many times tapping on the icon nonstop, it just quits instantly.
But when I start camera app from all programs list or lock screen, it always starts fine.
Anyone experienced this?
What could cause this?
i had the same problem the other day .. my camera app would not open! it just did exactly what you described .. i even closed all the recent apps to see if it was low memory.. it still didn't work.. but a simple restart of the phone cured it ... not really sure what happened but hasn't happened again yet knock on wood

Same thing happened to me and i also restarted my phone. Hasn't happened since.
I got it once, haven't had it again.

its probably just android being android .. hahaha no but seriously .. prob just a memory glitch or something
Reboot usually cure most bugs for while, but with this particular one it's interesting, that camera would start if started from lock screen or all apps list after it wouldn't start from home screen. Once it started it then starts fine frome homescreen too.
Very strange.
So yea the camera been acting up a lot lately ... It has happened 3 more times since I last posted on this thread..I have to reboot for it to start working again ... Its soon annoying!!! I missed the moments I needed to capture a pic because of it!! Not sure what the culprit is
Just remove it from your dock and place back...that is alot easier than rebooting and should work fine.

My girlfriend's camera app wouldn't start from the home screen or the app menu. I had to connect it to my computer and rename the DCIM folder and reboot the phone before it worked again.

Upgraded to ruu 1.85 - still same problem.
Same issue here. I will try and open the camera app up and it immediately crashes. It doesn't even really open, it just flashes the camera buttons and goes back to the home screen. It has happened to me at least 10 times since I've purchased the phone.
Restart is the only thing that alleviates the issue. Any ideas? Let's keep this going because it is pretty annoying to have to restart the phone just to use the camera.

But when this happens, have you tried any of these:
1) open app list (middle soft button) and then start the camera from home screen
2) start camera from app list
3) lock the phone with power button, and drag camera icon to the unlock circle.
For me either of the above fix the problem, never had to do reboot...

Moving out of the dock had no effect, Instagram can still use the camera hardware, but the stock camera app cannot, i wonder if it has ties with the image sense chip and is on all the time and crashes due to something....

I'm also getting this problem. It only happened once in a while at first but has now gradually gotten worse and worse. Now I can't take any pictures with my One X. Even rebooting the phone doesn't fix it. It's funny that the Instagram camera still works perfectly fine though.

Hi i'm a new Asus transformer infinity user . I've noticed that sometimes (not so often) when i run games they crash after loading and i need to restart the device to get them working. When i first noticed it was when i started Dark Meadow to show the graphics to my friends it just came up a white screen that started flashing rly fast. Next time was when i started gta 3. It just crashed every time it had loaded fully. It's not a big problem And it's not overheat either. It's more like coldstart ^^. More like a graphical problem.

I've had Final Fantasy 3 crash a number of times.. just pops me back to home screen. Don't usually lose much progress in the game, but still annoying. Does the same thing if you dock or undock during the game
I just installed the stock rom for xt1550 this right here http://forum.xda-developers.com/201...m-stock-motorola-6-0-1-rom-optimized-t3355938 So The Problem Is Now Whenever I Am Trying To Launch any app in full screen(landscape) I get unfortunately system ui has stopped. I used to have CM 13 before this. Any help appreciated I already have tried reinstalling the rom. Did not work though so any more details I will be happy to provide.
Did u clean flash it?

i see the same problem, when playing YOUTUBE in full screen( autoRotate ON), but i comes and goes in random..
numbering it like : 2 times a week hardly
if yours is crashing more than mine, then look for the app or Autorotate which is causing that crash.. !! or is it the memory??

For me it happens every time I go full screen, i.e whenever the screen is rotated to landscape. Youtube, MX Player, COC. And that too every damn time not even randomly twice a week or something.

Hi guys. Im gonna tell about a problem which does not occur in many apps. In my opinion it happens when i open an app that neeeds graphic card but not for sure. Here is the problem.
Ex. When i open a game or youtube video nothing is wrong if screen faces up. Nothing at all. When i tilt the screen down it blacks out even sound goes off ( phone is on) and then i tilt phone back up everything goes on working. It only happens in these kind of apps. Any ideas ?

I solved the problem by uninstaling updates from samsung's game tool/game mode app from aplication manager.

sometimes scrolling in setting menu or google chrome is not smooth for few miliseconds at first time to touch the screen and scroll
for trying to see you have this issue or not
when you are in setting menu or web browsing with google chrome (it may be exist on other apps)
wait about 5 seconds and do not touch anything ( if i scrolling without wait for few seconds i have not this problem but when i wait for few seconds the problem exist!)
then start to scroll slowly
if you see any lag or non smoothness at first second please report to me
do a few times and different times this test ( wait some seconds - then scroll)
i don't know when it occurs
sometimes i have not this problem but sometimes i have it ( randomly )
it seems to be when phone is idle for example 1 hour and after that i work with it
i have no issue
but when i use phone for a while the issue exist

go to setting menu or when you view a website in chrome
wait few seconds and then start to scroll up or down
and check if scrolling have lag or not smooth report please
try test in different times of day

Nope. Not happening here.
Yes i have a little lag in Chrome... But i make my screen 4k native... And I think its a little hard for processor to Work... I have the same lag even on 7.1.1 fw.. Maybe its a Chrome bug..
