Please Help XT1032 Cricket Moto G (original non LTE version) DEAD Android - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My XT1032 from cricket was on 4.4.2. I tried updating it to 4.4.3 via retail rom. The bootloader is locked. Something was over written and now it will only boot to a screen with dead android with a red exclamation point and then into the USB loader page. The error is preflash validation failed from mfastboot. I have tried using a 4.4.2 and 4.4.3. I believe the retail version i tried to use was a 4.4.4. I have no idea how to get the bak to just stock cricket 4.4.2.
Please help gentlemen, I am at a loss. I have tried a number of roms now but everything in the rom upgrade list fails preflash validation? I dont know what to do?

Not Helping But
I did exactly what you did, multiple times. However, I caused no damage. In my case(s) my phone would start the update and fail after a while. The phone would reboot and be fine on 4.4.2. Maybe, sometime in the next year or so, Cricket will release the update so that others won't go through this.

Droid Maxx Downgrade problems

So I'm trying to go through the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538896
...to root my Droid Maxx. The problem is I got my phone from Verizon and the salesman told it to upgrade to the 4.4 OTA. I can't flash it back to 4.2.2 so I can root it. I have tried using RSD Lite with the 4.2.2 firmware version I found here (The 12.15.15 Obake that has the camera patch):
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=4
Every time I try to flash it, it gives me a security check error about downgrading. Here's the exact error displayed on the phone:
Downgraded security version update gpt_main version failed preflash validation failed for gpt
This is the 4th device I have rooted, so I'm not a novice, but I wouldn't say I'm a pro either. Any help would be very nice.
@jcase If you can help me with this, I'll gladly donate $20 to your cause as I have used your root methods and exploits several times in the past.
I only post here because this is a new account and I can't post it anywhere else.
Thanks.
Downgrade is only possible with Moto X , not the Maxx/Mini/Ultra. Go read the ultra forums.

A line distorts the screen of my Moto G

Hi all, is it updated my Moto G Android Lollipop following the tutorial to pass the Moto G to Google Play Edition, and then wanted to go back to the original version 4.4.4 of my phone so doing I notice that after the message bootloader a line that distorts the image starting from the top to the bottom, the only way to solution I've found is blocking the phone and unlocking it, but still the problem persists appears.
Thank you very much for your attention and I hope to help.
maybe a bootloader problem...
I have the same exact error except i have the xt1032 non gpe variant. did the same thing as u did, flashed gpe 5.0.1 update and the problem first occurred when flashing twrp in 5.0.1, i tried a couple of versions of twrp but the problem kept happening, what makes me believe its a boot loader problem is that the version of the bootloader changed from 41.13 to 41.18 after the update. maybe they updated the bootloader with the 5.0.1 package, if we could flash the stock bootloader maybe that will help

if you flash from 5.0 Brazil to 4.4.4 GPE you will get that annoying line, to get rid of it just update to 5.0.1 from the phone and all will fixed.

[Q] Moto G Telus/Koodo, screwed up 5.0.2 update : please help..!

Hello Android gurus
I tried to find the answer to my problem in the other threads, but I'm still not 100% sure if I should proceed.
. I had rooted xt1032 moto g prior to 5.0.2 OTA that came out yesterday.
I used full unroot with supersu prior to applying the OTA thinking it would be ok. I guess I screwed up, my phone is soft bricked.
I can get in stock recovery but otherwise it is on boot loop and ends up with 'no command'.
I have the moving line problem on the bootloader white screen which seems to imply a diferent version of kernel and bootloader, (which I do not full understand)
.. Which makes we wonder if it is unsafe to flash the stock rom 4.4.4 image of my phone.
And if it is safe, will I be able to update via OTA after that?
What are my options? Thanks in advance!
The moving line issue is probably due to the fact that you have the 41.18 bootloader on your phone.
I also have a Koodo xt1032 with the 41.18 bootloader and was able to flash back to stock Telus 4.4.4. Do not flash stock 4.4.2 as other XDA members have said that flashing 4.4.2 would brick your phone.
I'm checking for OTA updates but I keep getting the message that my phone's software is up to date.

[Completed] [Q] Error while flashing stock rom on my Moto x 2013

While I was in my Team Win recovery in the section Advanced wiping I deleted everything even the system. Now my Moto X 2013 bought in France doesn't turn on anymore, it just displays the warning page that informs me that my bootloader is unlocked, from there I can just go in the recovery. I tried to reflash the stock french room of Android 4.4 (that I have already flashed successfully a while ago) from AP Fastboot using RSD lite, but this time it didn't work, on my phone is displaying this error:
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT.
:crying:
I have searched on google if someone had this problem too and I have found that it is due to when you want to pass from a newer version of android to an older one for exale from 4.4 to 4.2 . I think this is true because before I wiped everything I had android lollipop 5.1 and now I am trying to install android 4.4 . If you agree with me and think that it is the problem could you please tell me where I can get the zip file of Android 5.1 (the file of the firmware) that I will have to install using AP Fastboot?
PS: Sorry for my bad English
Thank yo very much.:fingers-crossed:

[Completed] Bricked Motorola Moto G 2 Gen

Hi, a few months ago i unlocked bootloader and rooted my Android 4.4.4 Moto G (locked to Tesco UK) and that was fine but then i went to lock it all again so i could get the OTA update for Android Lollipop.
This is where the problems began... I thought i found the write files to do it but then i discovered after that it was an US version so it wouldn't work with Tesco.
Today i went to roll it back again to a UK version but it doesn't seem to work.
I have all the files I think but I am getting errors such as 'Mismatched partition size' and 'Image file is too big'. I'm not the best with these things so any help would be much appreciated. I currently have a bricked phone so the sooner the better please. :good:
