[Q] Who want to join in a "beginners" team? - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure that this is the right section, move this if it is necessary!:good:
Ok let's start:
I'm 17 and italian. I love tecnology and I have big ambitions!
I'm here because I decided to create a team.
A team for what?
To join together to accomplish something (such as an app or a rom). A team also get to know everyone and learn together, helping one another.
A team composed of whom?
A team of people who share the same interests.
No matter the age or the country in which you live, import the interest and ambitions that you (and a minimum of bases).
The number of individuals is to be seen, I think 5-6.
Why a team?
Why, for example, I'm very good with programming (at school studying C # but in the free time I have used many other languages), I have developed an android app, I have created several websites but I can not create rom (but I would), I have never developed for iOS, I do not know C, I can not use Arduino and, as can be good, my understanding of English will never be on par with that of an American or English.
Surely one of you there is someone who knows how to do many things that I do and I want to learn things that I know I do!
And this is what I want to create: a group of diverse people who create and learn together.
Learning together is faster, fun and productive!
Nothing too challenging at leisure!
Here in Italy we say " United we stand, divided we fall "

UP (if i can do it )

Looking for an experienced web/phone developer

I'm not sure where to put this, or even if it's appropriate for XDA, but I love this community and I know there are a lot of talented developers here, so I figured I'd try. If I can't do this here, please slap me on the wrist and lock the thread. I'm hoping that's not the case though.
If you've ever wanted to be the man behind the idea, here's your chance.
I'm in the process of building a proposal to Boulder, Co TechStars to get funding (micro-investment) for a new web project (I'm a developer and a salesman ;-D), but they recommend you play your powers, and have at least a team of two (they rarely accept single founders), so I'm looking for a cofounder. If you like the project and it takes off, 50% of everything is yours. No red tape, no gimmicks.
This will be HARD. It's a big project and you don't get paid until the project launches (don't worry, I won't either haha). Consider this a night-light project until it launches.
I need someone with experience in the following
LAMP, including PHP and MySQL development
HTML, CSS, XHTML, DHTML
Javascript/jQuery
API's/XML/SOAP
RSS
Domain Wildcards and CNAME
Java, smali/baksmali and everything else involved in Android development (which I don't think anyone here will have a problem with)
Objective-C for iPhone
GeoData/Geolocation and Geo-integration
Prefer experience (but nowhere near required) also in:
XCode for iPhone development
Extended JS libraries
C#
J2ME/Mobile development
XNA / Visual Studio (for XBOX!)
Dreamweaver (Yeah, I know.... but it's easy to collaborate, easier to navigate than Aptana, more free-form and cheaper than Zend - we're on a budget and a timeline)
Screen Readers/section 508, accessibility
There will be no monetary compensation until either the project launches or we get funded by techstars - and IF we get funded by techstars for techstars 2011, you'll need to spend 3 months in Boulder for the event while we get funding, resources and mentorship for the project, so again, please be ready for this to be a night-light project for awhile, but if you're ready for it - reply with some information about you (or send me a private message), with your skills and history and the kind of time you have to devote to this project
The project is already patent pending, and if you want to discuss it at length you'll need to sign an NDA.
As for the XDA community - I love you guys and once we're in a functioning alpha, we'll selectively pick XDA users to test and give us feedback, beta will be open to all XDA members for free, and once we go live, beta testers get a free account for life.

A mobile app to change how restaurants work for better

We have just launched a campaign on Indiegogo website. About our new project which we really think is going to change the world. It’s a mobile app for restaurants,
a kind of social network but not limited to that! You may learn more about it here: igg.me/at/kindchef/x/4836930
Honestly, there are two reasons why I am talking about it here:
1) we have introduced some perks(gifts), that you mau find very useful and profitable.
2) the second reason is to spread the word about the campaign because we won’t be able to change the world if people are not supporting the idea… so if you even
just share it you have helped us a lot.
I hope this post is not looking like a shameless self-promotion. I never do that it’s just that the idea is so big and revolutionary that I think it does sound
righteous to talk about it and may sound very interesting.
Please visit the link above and find more information about it for yourself.
The most important way that you can help us, is by sharing the campaign link with your friends.
Please feel free to ask any questions,
Best,
MyFlashlab team.

Very best wishes on your app and if its a success it will surely thrust the restaurant sector into the 21st century with a bang.

Looking for guidance, Noob with no experience but a massive idea.

Hello XDA-Dev's,
I have two huge idea's but no experience and I'm looking for a place to start. I wish i had the capital to just hire someone to do the coding but that isn't an option so I'm running with the idea of learning how to code and make the app and web interface myself.
I will keep this post for my development on the way, as almost an interactive diary of my business. All help towards my goal will be greatly appreciated and I hope to develop some strong relationships with members of the forum along the way.
So there is my introduction, now i'll give a brief for my challenge.
First of all i need to learn to build an app in android/iphone, I'll also need web interface, If you think facebook, your on the right lines. So here is my first question, what program and language should I use to create an app similar to facebook or linkedin? A comprehensive list of suggestions would be appreciated. Also good sources to learn coding? I'm sure there is a thread on it so i'll get hunting but likewise feel free to make suggestions.
The next question would be what type of web hosting will i need, what should i use to build the web interface, and any idea's on the kind of bankroll I will need for something with a few million users?
Last of all, how long do you all think this will take to achieve alone?
Thoughts, opinions and introductions would be hugely welcomed. This is going to take me years, but I'd be a fool if I didn't try and make the most of an obvious opportunity.
Regards,
Si
p.s if your a mod and there is a more suitable place for this post, please move it for me, it's my first post here so I'm alien to the layout right now.
Hi,
From my personnal experience, i have two massive impressions about the coding universe, first it's a very pleasent world if you're interested by computer or programms mechanics. Learning how to structure an idea how to put a shape on something moreless abstract is an unique experience. But on the other hand this will drive you crazy sometimes, coding is a very strict language where you'll have to learn all of the basics first, but i can assure you that when you've learned the C or the Java or even Pascals basics, you become able to understand any other programm in any other language, the expressions or the designation objects are the only thing that'll change, it's like playing at a ps3 when used to xbox, almost ...
So coding is a very enjoyable experience but it takes time and will to master it, although huge programmes like facebook aren't based on just one language but it uses several ones like html/css for the structure of the website but this one is a kind of basic for every developper even if you're not interested by web design, also c# and c++ are the new platforms for algebra, then you have php to handle the servers of such a huge and massive network. There are so many other knowledge recquired to lead such a huge project that you can't do it alone. Despite that, if you take a good start in coding you'll be able to run other type of application on android for instance you'll need java or on pc my advise would be to start with C it's really easy at the beginig, in fact the only limitation is your imagination.
Good luck for your project

How to become a good android developer?

Developing a good android application is not an easy task (neither impossible ) especially if you have small or no team. It requires many skills and talents, such as coding, designing sense, music sense, marketing skills and list goes on. You have to keep an eye on everywhere since lack of any aspect can result in poor response form users (which is the last thing an android developer want).
Recently I have developed an android game (Fruiteria) in my spare time and launched it recently on Google play store (see link at the end of this post). It took me about 74 days to build it from scratch. It was a challenging task but I learned a lot from my experience. I would like to share my experience with you today!
Let's discuss what are the things one should never avoid while developing application :
1. Concept and implementation of application
As I said above, there are many aspects to application development. But no matter what you do, You will not be successful by selling poor quality application. So, first thing everyone should think about is a good concept. Your concept can depend on your goals such as business advertising, social work, marketing or simply making money! Also, having a good concept on paper is one thing but it's implementation need patience and constant efforts. If you have a nice concept and willingness to put efforts into it, then consider you are already at the half way!
2. Grow your concept with time
Second point I would like to mention is try not to be stubborn!! If you think that you have the best concept in the world, but the world thinks the other way, then you are in big trouble. After all you are building the application for people. Take suggestions from users and your friends to change and grow application concept. Believe me, it works like magic!
3. Research
Before building your application, try to do some research on what is the market for your application, who are the competitors in market and why they are successful (or unsuccessful), who are your target audience and what do they exactly want. Working on such things will give you a better idea on what needs to be done exactly.
4. Marketing
This one is tricky! If you are an individual, or a small company with almost no capital, then it is hard to put much money in marketing. Especially when there are already giant companies present as your competitors. But that is not the end! Think about creative ways to make your application popular. For example Give it to your friends to use, and tell them to spread it. If you are in college, then sponsor a small event in exchange of application publicity which will not require much money. Make discount coupons and distribute them. In essence, do every little bit of thing that you can. You might not see the effect on first sight, but over time it will accumulate on large scale.
5. Keep in touch
Last thing I want to share is don't leave your application after launching! Keep updating it regularly by adding exciting new features and fixing bugs if any. Respond to user comments and reviews. It gives personal touch and they will start thinking that you care about them. It will definitely increase the user retention and hence the growth of your application..!
I personally have been implementing these principles in my application since the idea came to my mind. Finally I succeeded in development of a good android game (or at least I think so!). But as I said earlier, my success depends on how you respond to it! I am sharing the link for game in case if you are interested in checking out my game. Please let me know how you find it by reviewing it on Google play store!
All the best for your android endeavours. My best wishes are with you!!
Fruiteria link : (I am unable to post outside link on this thread) Please go to google play store and type 'Fruiteria'

Building a team..are you in?

We are building a team for a new tech project that will hit as big as Uber and AirB&B...how do we know? Simple...it solves a big problem, it employs people and allows them to make money from their home, and it is a global market! It isn't creating a better mousetrap, it is the evolution of society and how we access convenience.
You would hate yourself for missing out!
What we are looking for is developers who are next level genius types. Who can take the Uber apps, and not only understand them, but recreate and/or improve upon them. We want the best!
We will be building a working prototype before going after funding. Once the VC's hear of this idea, they are going to back our seed and A round... guaranteed, no 2 ways about it!
