My Explorer has started facing hell lot of problems all at once.
Before all started it used to random reboot at least 2-3 times a day..
The list of problem goes as follows:
1)Does not receive any network on any of the rom. It shows X mark over blank network symbol and says NO SIGNAL, LIMITED SERVICE.!!(IDEA sim) and sometimes it does not detect sim(MTNL sim) I checked all simcard slot pins they all are fine. *#*#4636*#*# menu shows signal strength as -81 dBm 16 asu. :crying:
2)Volume Down Button neither works in OS nor in recovery but astonishingly works in bootloader.
3)Camera force closes when launched and works only on some rom(rom on which it does not work does not have any camera bug). It does not even work on stock rom flashed from RUU.
4)Charing and datacable animation notification does not go away even if cable is pluged out.
5)Device Serial Number has been changed to 123456789012 . Could it be the main reason for all above problems??
Things i have tried
1)relocked the bootloader and flashed RUU. No Gain.
2)Tried fastboot oem writeserialno xxxxxx. No Gain gives me error. Maybe HBOOT 1.02 does not support writeserialno.
Please Help me..

It's simple bro you've bricked your phone or the phone is bricked magically (maybe it got damaged)
Well i'll suggest you to check-up your phone from HTC Authorized Service Center or any Service Center you would like to go!
It's cuz of damage to the mainboard of PICO or it just gone hard-bricked!

Hi,
I am facing network connectivity issue since the time I entered roaming area on my Matrix 2. It does not connect to network. It keeps showing no network, then for 2 seconds it shows emergency call symbol , then for 2 seconds it gets connected to network and again it keeps showing no network. This cycle keeps on repeating.
I searched for the issue and found that it is issue with atrix 2 software and the suggested solution was to install app called network and choose gsm only from it.
I tried it but it doesn't works for me.
I am able to make a call if I dial number exactly at the moment network appears for 2 seconds.
The only temporary solution I was able to find was to dial self number as soon as network appears and then keep on dialing it for around 8-10 times. Then it gets connected to network for 1/2-1 hour and then again it gets disconnected.
Please let me know if anyone has any solution for it.
I am on JB unrooted and using 2g network.
1) Try another SIM ....
2) try flashing ICS radio.img ...... (you shud know some fastboot commands) search the forum
3) try factory reset or reflash JB ..... it might work sometime
if you are using BSNL ..... then i have my sympathies with you :silly: lol
First off wrong forum, should go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1771
Go back to Stock ICS via RSD Lite 6, try SIM with other phone first and check, do not install apps for network improvement as mostly they just turn radio on & off, in worse case they can botch up some internal default settings. Use this for getting a view on network heat range & in particular tower direction to move towards for better reception https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.staircase3.opensignal&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zdGFpcmNhc2UzLm9wZW5zaWduYWwiXQ..
Thanks for the reply...
I have already tried that, its not a network or sim card issue. I have tried inserting sim to other phone and it just works fine.
I put it in general section coz when I googled it I came to know that its an issue with every atrix-2 so every one might have faced this issue while roaming.
Also going back to stock have not worked for anyone. Its an issue with atrix-2 software itself.
You seem to have reached to your own final conclusions but yet please understand on JB 4.1.2 leak there has been no one who has echoed your issue (gps is definitely an issue & for some wifi on some particular bands). Also read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425560
Try flashing the new 4.2.1 ROM based on official leak of 4.1.2 JB as I believe radio is better on it. On JB leak though one thing I can confirm is when phone enters roaming it automatically shuts data randomly and not always & user has to re-enable it. If all fails, fxz to stock ICS and if under warranty claim your stake.
Thanks...will try when I get back to home.
Although I have not reached to conclusion on my own, I search regarding this in Motorola forums and people facing this issue stated that they tried aall the specified methods. They were getting this issue on all os versions.
Please point me towards a link which illustrates issue same as your on JB 4.1.2 specifically.
Hi everyone!
I have a problem which bugs me since quite a long time. I could not possibly find a solution through google, so as my last resort I am posting it here.
My HTC one S (S4) has a problem with REconnecting to the cellphone network. After extended time (1/2h +) of being in a place where there is no reception, eg my office in my university's basement, it cannot reconnect when I return to a place with reception (eg outside). It just stays like it would have no reception. The reception-bars in the status bar have the little cross over them and I cannot call / write sms etc. I then have to restart the phone to regain full functionality. And after rebooting the screen where I have to put in my PIN says there are two tries left instead of three.
The same thing happens when reconnecting after being in the airplane mode for a while. The airplane mode field is greyed out saying something like "disabling airplane mode" Then I also need to reboot the phone.
This problem started occuring after I flashed a Rom (ViperOneS) for the first time on this phone. I tried fixing it by installing the stock Rom with an RUU exe (for which I had to change the SuperCID) but it didn't help either. I tried different Roms too, but with no success. Unfortunately my service provider does not publish their branded roms for self installing, I would have to bring it to their service station.
My phone currently runs the stock Rom 2.31 (rooted and with CWM installed, bootloader unlocked over the HTC homepage).
Thank you for your help!
Cheers

Does anybody know anything about these problems?
I suggest you take everything back to stock. Relock your bootloader, reflash stock recovery, get your phone back to what it was at when you first used it, and then check how your service is.
Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help with a small problem I'm having after flashing a new ROM - {ROM}[T][STOCK][JB 4.3][UB&LB][9.2.A.0.295] Official Firmware - Rooted&Deodexed 18/02, by DaRk-L0rD. My problem is that when I first turn on my XperiaT, I usually have no service on my phone - i.e- I cant make calls at all. The phone works fine for everything else, but I have to manually go into Settings-More-Mobile Networks and after a few seconds the phone picks up the signal and the bars appear. If I don't do this it will just sit there for hours not getting anything! I've tried entering the Phone Information menu through *#*#4636#*#*, and setting the preferred method to WCDMA, and I've made sure that in the Mobile Networks settings that is also the preferred method, however it seems that if I reboot the phone, or the battery dies and I switch it on, it randomly forgets these settings and I get nothing. If I try to enter the Settings-About Phone-Status screen when I've no signal then I get force closed, but when I have signal it opens no problem and my IMEI is there and is correct. Also, sometimes the little red missing SIM icon appears alongside the red x on the bars, although this doesn't happen all the time.
It's a small issue because it only happens maybe 80% of the time, and it's not a big deal going into settings and reactivating things, but it's a bit of a hassle at this stage.
Previously I used "[ROM]XperimenT 3.5[T/TL][9.1.A.1.145][Locked & Unlocked][23/09/13]" by TiMiN8R without this issue so I know that the phone/sim are actually ok as it only started immediately after flashing the new ROM.
You can see from my three screenshots that I have no service for two minutes, enter the mobile networks menu, and finally after being in that menu for a few seconds up pop the bars!
If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.
I'll try to keep this post as simple and well typed out as possible...
I cracked my screen and essentially damaged the digitizer as touches couldn't be registered at all, so I ordered a newbie off Aliexpress and using the guide on iFixit, I repaired it myself. It booted perfectly and everything works fine EXCEPT for a weird issue I'm having with my cellular data and the network itself not registering properly or something.
I've a SIM card and plan with Vodafone Australia and basically the phone:
- sometimes registers 4G/LTE, but never 3G and 2G didn't seem to want to work
- can sometimes send/receive texts (at random)
- can't make or receive calls
- cellular data absolutely doesn't work at all, nothing will load. I think there was only 1 occasion where half a web page loaded, but that could have been cached
- when the network 'disappears' either I just have a blank network bar in the status bar or sometimes I also get a triangle in the status bar and in the notification pull down area it reads "NO SERVICE - selected network (Vodafone AU) unavailable"
- I also occasionally get a warning that says "Restricted access changed - Data service is blocked" - I called Vodafone and they said there is no blocking or barring service in place on my SIM/service and that the SIM should work with any device it's in
- the device even shows details like signal strength -95 dBm and 43 asu, shows Vodafone AU as my network and even automatically loads the correct APN settings
- I tried an OPTUS Australia SIM and the same thing happened, registers network, shows signal strength, APN etc, but nothing works!
Prior to doing the repair I was using a Telstra 4G SIM and everything worked flawlessly right out of the box. Never an issue. I'm pretty sure both providers even run on the same bands.
I have tried the following to solve the problem, to no avail:
- different ROM and kernel (stock CM11S, Temasek CM12 w/ AK kernel)
- fastboot erase modemst1 and modemst2
- different modems (44S, 05Q)
- changing settings in *#*#4636#*#* menu (LTE/GSM auto, and the rest)
All I have left to try is to go see my provider and request a new SIM.
I'm thinking maybe something happened when I disassembled the device, like I may have damaged the part of the main board where the SIM registers. Could this be the cause? Surely not,as I do get that temporary LTE registration...
Also note that I'm 99.99% sure it's an international device, not a Chinese one, as it came with CM11S and the Aliexpress seller told me so.
Any advice? HELP!!!
Never mind. Realized I hadn't connected the antenna back to the main board. As I was putting the main board back in, I tore off the flex cable that connects the volume rockers to the main board. I now have a 1+1 with no working volume buttons. What a waste of 5 hours and a few hundred dollars. That'll teach me to DIY.

That just teaches you to be careful. We have all done it from time to time. I tore a bunch of flex cables in my time. Now I don't. It is all a learning process
Similar Problem
I have a similar problem. After replacing my screen I have no service unless I have line of sight to a cell tower. I mean REALLY close, and stepping behind a wall will make the signal disappear entirely. I'm assuming there was damage to the antenna in some way, does anyone know where I can get a replacement antenna or have any other solution for me? Everything is connected properly, no apparent damage, works great IF I can see a tower and am in close proximity.

Similar problem here.
After replace my screen I got poor signal. The reason I replace the screen is because of water. I still get signal but not as good as before. I also lost signal sometimes. I wonder if it because of the water too.
I don't think it's because the flex cable. I've double check, the cable is attached correctly. I've tried to unplug the cable and turn it on. I can see the difference, when the cable is unplug I got no signal at all. If it's because of the water then which part should be replaced?
Hi! I'm having some mayor problems with my OnePlus One.
For some time I have had problems getting calls and sms when using 4G but it seemed to be a problem with my carrier but 2 weeks ago I dropped my phone and the screen broke so I bought a new screen and replaced it. After that the connection to my carrier dropped randomly and now after trying to fix it in different ways I can't get any connection at all with any carrier !
What I have tried so far:
Factory reset
Reinstalled CM
Put paper under the sim for tighter fit
Turned the radio off and on and restart phone
Change pin code
Replace sim-card
Tried different carriers on my phone (my simcard worked on other phones so it is the OPO that is the problem)
Total restore by fastboot-flashing
Installed OxigenOS 2
Tried all modems from the modem collection on CM and Oxigen.
Retyped the APN by hand
Opened the phone again and checked that all cables are connected well
Tried manualy connect to my carrier under Network Operators
For a short time of maximum 10 seconds I got a 4G connection twice in now 3 days of trying but then it stops working again. It feels like a hardware problem BUT I can see a lot of different carriers under Network Operators but when trying to connect it loads for ever and then says "Can't register to your carrier". I called my carrier and thay said nothing was wrong from their end and when I tried on other phones it worked flawlessly.
I'm really out of ideas now and I don't know where to go from here. I really hope someone of you knows that might be the problem!
Thank you so much!
If imei present you can try mobile phone exchange offer on flip kart like online stores. When this happened to my phone I did it , very easy.
Sometimes opo dont search available network or wont register on any network.
Sulution: go to access point and reset it to default first then go to network and try to search for network n if ur able to search then try ro register manually and if it does not work then go to dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#* then click phone info and select the lte/gsm ato prl mode and then click turn radio off and again tuen it onn then smsc refresh and update ( i dnt remember it correctly) if that dnt help then ur network antena is damaged
