[Q] Development on Samsung SM-V100T? (T-Mobile LTE Hotspot Pro) - General Questions and Answers

Picked up this hotspot when Mom upgraded our plan. Handles 2g/WCDMA/4G LTE data for up to 10 people. It's not half-bad.
Looking closer at this router, I guessed it was running Android, albeit heavily modified. Plugged it in, and laptop uses SAMSUNG_Android driver to connect. Also can boot device into ODIN. I now have a desire to flash something onto this thing.
Has anyone, is anyone, or would anyone be willing to dev for this thing (unfortunately missing a touch screen, or softkeys)? I like the sound of an Android-powered router.

3G modems on G-tab

Anyone tried connecting a USB 3G USB dongle with the G-tab? Will they work?
I'm thinking of getting one of these to put inside my G-tab if I can find a place inside that will fit.

You know, I think this might be possible.

The specs on this Android tablet (I think its the ZPad?) claim that USB 3G Modems are supported. It even lists the specific models.
EDIT: This is one of the models listed on the specs page. http://cgi.ebay.com/ZTE-CDMA-REV-A-EVDO-Modem-Model-AC-581-/330492290336?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf2e02520#ht_2134wt_1139
EDIT 2: Well I messaged zetronix through their website and left a message on their support number. We will see what kind of a response I get. ^_^
I plugged my AT&T USB 3G modem (Mercury) into the device and nothing happened. Nothing showed up in "wireless" settings. Don't think it works with TNT-Lite.
pls feel free to try your 3g sticks against my kernel offering.
pls snap some dmesgs, and give me the chip/device ids if it does not detect it, and i can add them in.
I have an air card that I will test. If I can get this working, I would be a very happy sysadmin. It shows up in dmesg, even with stock, but from there nothing.
1. Build a kernel module.
2. Configure kernel to support wired ethernet via the kernel module.
3. Insert module.
4. Configure the GTablet to use the new network interface.
I considered doing this to use my iPhone as a USB network interface, but the adhoc wireless network support from MyWi 4.0 was good enough.
That would be really cool especially with the newer 4G usb modems being offered by my carrier. But for now I simply use Wireless Tether on my rooted Droid X and use the sweet unlimited 3G to access the internet via wi-fi on my G Tablet.
Since I already have to carry the phone around and I have an unlimited data account it seemed like a good idea.

This but with my Evo... .
But I do understand how some of you get corporate data plans with those usb sticks... It would be nice for you to use
Has anyone managed to get this to work, I was at at&t today and almost got an aircard (3g Dongle) today but wanted to research a bit.

[Q] Mango B2 Can't Connect to Ad Hoc

I am stuck using wifi tethering on my trusty TP2 for my laptop and just tried connecting my HTC 7 Pro to the wifi and it doesn't even show up. I never tried this on NoDo, can anyone else confirm this doesn't work? If so this needs to be fixed.
Sidenote: I remember reading that Microsoft hasn't included tethering yet because carriers don't like it. However, I think this is mostly restricted to US carriers because in Europe I've never heard such things. Give us built in tethering!

[Q] Inexpensive Android devices to USB tether to Asus RT-N66U router?

..
Bit of an old post, but I thought I'd give my experience as I have the RT-AC66R which is basically the same thing with AC.
Just about any Android that supports MTP should work. If you live in an area with LTE, make sure you get a device that supports it. I tether using my HTC One M7. Make sure to install the latest firmware for the router. Mine had real trouble when I updated the phone to 4.3. I just recently got the router working again.
Also make sure you get the unlimited data plan. Otherwise you'll be hitting the throttle limit within a few days.

Is there ANY ROMs for the T-Mobile D6616 version? Obnoxious hostop tethering issue

Is there ANY customed / modified ROM for the T-Mobile D6616 variant? Or some way to debloat the hell out of the stock ROM? I feel like there's some crap on here that makes it annoying to use, especially hotspot tethering.
I used to have a Z2 international version and it never had any issues with my laptop connecting to the phone's tethering via hotspot. But ever since I got it, it's been a massive prick just going on and off so I'm forced to use USB tethering.
I noticed that every time I turn on hotspot, a quick pop-up comes up stating it need to check my account before leaving. I assume that's the reason why it's so damn iffy and also why I can't remotely turn on tether via my LG G Watch R.
If someone knows how to resolve this, it'll be much appreciated.

Very interesting problem...

Using a verizon note 5, marsmallow, with metropcs. ALL works as should. Excellent service, sms, mms even the my metro app. Hotspot works but with a weird problem... so I can connect every device in my house to my hotspot, except one connects and then says no internet. I can connect an Xbox 360, multiple laptops, 2 smart tvs, wiiu, tablets, and then the problem child, Amazon fire stick. It says connected, shows full bars for coverage, then it shows not connected to the internet. I've tried the old lollipop dhcp, I've tried 2.4ghz and 5ghz. To no avail, I cannot get it working for the life of me. I've tried tmobile apn and metro apn... now the weird thing is I can use my wife's note 5 from Verizon with verizon service and it connects and streams just fine. Just my Verizon note 5 with metropcs service, won't connect to that one device. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Any help or insight would be appreciated thanks
verizon hotspot app is limited to 10 devices.
Are you connecting more than 10 devices?

No it was only the fire stick by itself. I came to the conclusion that even though metropcs works on a Verizon unlocked note 5, it doesn't have all the LTE bands so therefore my LTE speed wasnt fast enough to run the fire stick. Needless to say the note 5 has found another owner and I've moved on to the Nexus 6p. And now I have full LTE speeds and the fire stick works again. Thanks for your insight
