guys im just a bit confused on the android wear concept.
my friend has a nexus 5 and he is planning on buying an asus zenwatch but again the confusion came into play whether those two will gel together.
and I had no idea either whether it will be compatible.
I saw the app that tells if ure phone is compatible with android wear and it shows that it is.
but with the asus zenwatch is the only question.
thanks for the help in advance

Check the Device Suggestions thread and let them know what your budget is and what you'd like the tablet to be able to do.

I have a Nexus 10 and have been really happy with it. I will say that the stock ROM is a bit buggy which hopefully Google will sort out soon. I've been running several custom ROM's and have found the, to be much more stable. The screen is gorgeous btw!
depending on your budget i would suggest going either for nexus 7 or the nexus 10. both are really good tabs

You may want to wait a few months for the new tablets to come out with Nvidia Tegra 4.
But if you must buy a tablet right now, it depends on what you want and your budget. Here is a last of tablets and some things about them:
Asus Transformer TF700: Attachable keyboard, nice Asus apps, fast OTAs, fast processor, good gaming device
Nexus 10: Fastest processor on the market, gets updates before any other brand devices (direct from google)
Nexus 7: Cheap, decent processor, gets updates at the same time as Nexus 10
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Not Galaxy Tab 2 10.1): Multiview, stylus, Samsung mini apps, TouchWiz (Some people hate TouchWiz but I like it), decent processor.

I love my nexus 10, this is a great example of the way android is meant to operate.
Hey all...
I'm actually using a Galaxy Note 4 in my private time... Now I'm looking for an atleast 7" Tablet (Phablet, what ever) for working business... As I'm not up to date what devices are on the market right now i thought i could ask for help here. I thought about something like the Sony Xperia Z Ultra if i remember right...
The device should at least meet the following speccs:
LTE
~7" Screen
1.5+gb ram
root has to be possible
Android 5+
U got to use it as a phone without using a headset (yeah i know it might look funny to hold an 7" tablet on ur ears )
As for the hardware speccs anything like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T715 LTE would be nice. But this 8" seems to be a bit unhandy.
I appologize for my bad english and hope for some nice ideas on what to buy
Thnx in advance

going better day by day...
Yay, speaker support!! That was one of the reasons I got the Zenwatch2. (after reading about how the Zenwatch2 had a speaker in it). I came from the Gear 2 Neo, and I actually used the speaker a good amount on Tizen, so I am happy I will be able to have the speaker with Android Wear.
That's one of the reasons I got my ZenWatch 2 as well. But, then there is also the price of only $129 at this time of writing which is 1/2 to 1/3 the price of many smart watches.
can somebody here email google? i mean direct access to Google wear development. I am thinking next android wear update will be usefull if it capable to reply message by typing direcly on watch. Google already have this anyway: typing on watch like gesture typing on google gesture search will be great, because reply using voice doesn't always work especially for the non english languange purpose

what is the price bro.. is it work with my note 3

Good Morning Everybody,
So I am now rocking an Asus Zenwatch 3 and since the Android Wear 2.0 update is not coming, I am trying to get myself a new smartwatch.
I am thinking either to buy the Gear S3 or to stay on Android Wear 2.0 and going for the Huawei Watch 2 Classic or LG Watch Style.
My phone is not a Samsung and I don't intend in getting one soon, I currently have the Google Pixel XL and in a couple of days switching to the Blackberry Keyone.
Question, is this watch worthed and useful?
Does it work well with a non Samsung Device?
How's Tizen compare to Android Wear?
Thanks
The whole functionality you'll only get with a Samsung phone from 4.3/4.4. (Samsung Store/Pay, watch updates and so on often failes on different android-phones)
Some Android-phones are completely not supported (not only because of root and custom roms..), like my Mediapad X2...

(AndroidWear is working fine on my phone, without any limitations, also 2.0 update with my Huawei Watch 1)
I switched from using an LG to a Samsung phone with the S3.There was very little additional functionality gained. Here's a chart that compares all the features across Samsung, Android, and iOS devices.

Thank you guys
Well, I'm using it with the Blackberry Priv and I don't have any issues at all. It is connected via Bluetooth. I logs my walks, hikes and bike rides and I can view the info on the watch or in the S-health app on the Priv. I can update or install apps and watch faces from the Priv. I have been using S-pay which I still find weirdly fun to do!!!! But the Priv still runs Marshmallow. I don't know any details but there are or may be issues with Nougat on some aspects of the Gear S3 (others can let you know if S-pay works).
I'm also active on the Crackberry forum and there have been a few discussions of the Gear S3 there. There's also a Keyone thread and maybe you could ask for info.

Thank you. I will do
I'm using the S3 with a Moto G4 and everything works with no restrictions. Don't feel like you need a Samsung phone to use all the features.

What does the comment help all those who do not have all the functions with his android phone?
Or what is the general benefit of this observation?
Additionally, the thread creator has no Moto G4 -
if I am not wrong
I have been using Samsung Galaxy Note 5 as the carrier with earlier a Gear S2 and now Gear S3 Frontier (and Moto 360 prior to the Gear watches), and absolutely love my S3.
The key aspects of the watch which I find very useful - The rotating dial and unique interface, excellent battery, nice in built S-Health, Samsung-Pay, etc should work with all Android phones. With Gear app and S-Health app available in Google App-store, anyone with an Android phone can install them and make use of them.
The other features I also like very much is ability to sync all messages and email on the S3 itself since I use the Samsung native messaging and email app on my Note5. This I believe will be the only things not available with other Android devices.
Overall - The message/email syncing, S-Pay from wrist, decent stock health tracking app, very intuitive and nice interface with rotating bezel, and extremely competitive battery life (I get 4 days with Always on Display off) has made me absolutely adore the S3.
Hi guys,
Now I have a new phone, I was questioning if I can install Android TV on my 'old' Nexus 6 phone.
I don't know if this is the right thread to ask, I couldn't find a better one.
Thanks for reading!

I was wondering this myself last night, whether or not there were any Android TV ROMs out there designed for the Nexus 6...Was just thinking of post-daily-driver usage I could still get out of this phone.
Nexus 9 too?
I have the same question but for the Nexus 9.
Yes. ATV is a layer over regular android. But you probably need to create a rom by yourself...
