Does radio affect Bluetooth? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

The newest firmware cuts out BT for me. Does radio control BT? Im asking because I want to flash an older version to see if it fixes my issue.

Have you flashed a new Rom recently? Or is it the same? Was it the 4.4.4 Firmware?

coredroid sound issue

I just flashed the newest version of coredroid and i'm hearing a lot of static on my end. According to the person on the other end, I sound clear.
26.06.06.14_M - Radio and RIL
I tried flashing turbonium's R1 fix but the static is still there.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Can you check for a typographical error in your post, I don't recognize that radio. If you meant 26.06.04.14_M, that is a generic test radio. You should just flash the updated stock radio that got pushed out to the stock Inspires at the end of April. It's been working well across all sorts of ROMs (Froyo, GB, Sense, AOSP). It's version 26.06.06.30 and you can get it from my dropbox here. The RIL that came with this radio is 2.2.0079HM, which you can get from here.
edit: my second recommendation (since you're using a Gingerbread/Sense ROM) is radio 26.09.04.11_M2. I believe the RIL that comes with CoreDroid is 2.2.0131HM which is already the recommended RIL for this radio.
Thanks and yes it looks like I did have a typo.
I will try the new radio and see if it makes a difference.

best rom + radio combination for you?

I have been using 2.3.5 with the new radio, I have more bars and sometimes I get better speeds but I lose more frequently my 3g and keeps bouncing 3g/1x, my wifi sucks but I don't use it a lot and 4g, I don't have here in my area.
Have the same problem since I moved to 2.3.5 and so have moved back to a rom that uses 2.3.4 (Oxygen 2.1.6).
Is the wifi/3g trouble due to the radio? If yes, anyone knows how I can use a newer rom with an older radio?
Thanks

Flash the rom first then apply the radio.
I have been using the old radio for a day and now I don't have a problem with the wifi and the 3g works the same, like crap, so I am going to keep the old radio with this one 2.3.5 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205936 , for couples days and see. 3g in Sprint sucks!

[Q] Revolution HD recommended radio

I flashed the recommended radio 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 a few days back and my question is my phone still says .00P instead of .00U. Any ideas as to why or what affect that has?
Thanks
Try to reflash it?

Hi,
It makes no difference, and there is no adverse affect.
I just flashed my Sensation with Revolution HD also and I'm curious about the Radio update.
It says 'recommended' but what exactly is different about this radio vs the stock one? I've read here and there that flashing the radio can be pretty dicey and is a large casue of bricked devices.
My phone seems to be operating fine now without the flash. I don't mind flashing it but I'd like to understand the differences first.

Hi,
To quote mike:
He strongly recommends the radio because
--- Using a "non matched" radio could have a negative effect on performance, battery life & signal strength ------ You don't have to flash RIL files for recommended radio. It's already in the ROM ------ You would need S-OFF in order to do it properly
So, the radios are optimized for his roms.

It has no effect, they are exactly the same radio flashed.
The U vs P is a tag to determine which market the phone is for.
for example in Europe you'll generally have "U" here in the US on TMO we generally have "P".

Let me see if I can provide an easy explanation:
In the past there were often radio's specifically tweaked for the market they were releasing into for example a "Europe" and "US" radio.
The radio numbers are simply revision numbers in the evolution of the overall radio.
The more current radios are optimized and the preferred build for most of the newer ROMs because the Radio/IRL is optimized for the 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 sensation builds.
The current radios may not be overly different in their individual changelogs but they are different in how the matching Radio/IRL interacts with the ROM in regards to call quality, power consumption and of course the Kernel. This is why a chef will recommend a radio with a ROM.
I've used various radios on the TMoUS Sensation and the most recent radio is by far the best performer in regards to call quality and power IMO. You've certainly got nothing to lose by upgrading and might gain the extras enabled by the more current ROMs mostly in the way of optimized performance.

The flashing process itself causes more issues than the radios. The best way is to ADB Fastboot flash radio radio.img.
In the past when radio's were matched to geo markets or specific rom builds this was more of an issue. If you follow the guidelines it's actually really easy. Just be sure you S-off before you try anything.

it's a gingerbread,
baseband:10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_M (ive never flashed my radio)
I'd suggest you try to update the radio for the GPS issue since the recommended version for the ROM you have is 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
The link to the radio is on the ARHD page under the Downloads section of the ROM you have.
About the Wi-Fi issue I'm not sure what the problem is.
Update the radio and see how things go.
If that still doesn't work Super Wipe in Recovery and re-flash the ROM.

Difference in radios? Can someone answer a quick question!

Hey guys, I just loaded CleanROM 4.5 RC1 and loving it so far. I noticed my baseband version if 2.23.707 now....where before it was 1.85. That's the radio right? What's the difference? I assume 2.23 is better? is their even a newer one still or is that the best?
I'm pretty good with this ROM flashing stuff, but don't quite get radios and the differences. Anybody care to help a newb?
2.23.707
2.23 is the HTC ROM version.
The ROM is a combination of drivers, firmware, applications and the operating system itself.
2.23 includes:
Radio - 0.19as.32.09.09_L_10.104b.32.25L
hboot - 1.14
kernel - 3.0.8-01564
Android - 4.0.4
Newer firmware for adsp, wifi and a whole heap of applications etc.
The HTC ROM version doesn't mean much device to device. Eg a One XL versus a One S.
The 707 is the region. 707 in this case is for Singtel Singapore.
502 would mean AT&T USA
841 Telstra Australia
708 Hong Kong (not carrier branded)
631 Rogers Canada
etc.
For the version they tend to relate across all regions. But mean more when following for just that region.
2.23.707 was intended for Singtel Singapore which previously had 1.88.707.
1.89.841(Telstra) may or may not be an newer or an improvement over 1.88.707.
This thread has a list of radios that were released with certain ROMs.

I'm surprised he's included a radio with his ROM> Not many devs do that, as people have their own preference.

Find your original one from HERE and flash it
Your mistaken I think your build number probably changed from 185 to 223 your radio is the baseband line and 223 radio starts as 19as and is not included directly in the rom but is available in another post of scotts

There is no such thing as a 2.23 baseband. You need to go back and look at the info again. You are confuising baseband with build number.
2.23 is the software build and release keys. The baseband would be .19 or .18 or something like that.
There is no radio in my ROM. I would never do that. Thats reckless. And if I did do it it would be noted in the op.
Baseband is a lot differnt than softeware build number, lol

Mhm there's the man to clarify the issue himself
And oops the radio thread was someone else! Stock firmwares thread is indeed maintained by Scott tho
If you got 2.23 from HTC it would include all parts of 2.23. Custom roms may only include hand picked portions.
Eg most custom roms only use the os, apps and kernel but not any firmware, like radio etc.

Apologies, your right, I was looking at the wrong version. 2.23 is the build version, not baseband.
Question though: my baseband version 0.17.32.09.12. After flashing CleanROM 4.5 RC1, my phone constantly switches between H and G, and in the about>phone info, it goes from HSPA to HSPAP to UMTS. This doesn't seem normal...it never did this before. SHould I flash a different radio to go with this ROM? Sorry if this is going off on more of a custom ROM tangent!
