hey guys can anyone suggest music app to sort music by title, track no.,year,etc.??
tried poweramp and loved it bt i wanted a free app if possible
also i would love if google play music added this feature because i have dozens of albums that rely on gapless playback and playmuic just messes things up by arranging them in alphabetical order by deafult

Hello folks,
this is actually my first Android app, however I hope it can be some use to you
***This app mutes media only, on some devices it won't disable the camera's shutter sound, I will publish an app for that very soon. This is a beta version, it might not work***
Simple Media Muter is a one-click app to mute your media stream (like songs or game sounds). It is not a widget, which means that uses no resources at all! Simply put a link to it on your homescreen and you can mute and unmute your media with one click. Of course, your alarm clock is not affected
Why using Simple Media Muter and not other apps?
Simple Media Muter is highly efficient, it takes only 20kb of your space and won't hurt your battery a bit! It has no ads, is completely free and there are no annoying popups telling you to buy a donate version (even though there is a donate version of Simple Media Muter) ;-)
Please note that this is still a beta version and that it might not work as intended. If so, please send me a bugreport including your device, Android version and if you're using a stock or custom rom.

I honestly wouldn't do this if I didn't think it was great. Its literally the best music player that has come to the market in my opinion.
Not only does it sound cues for you to set up a custom equalizer to tailor your ears but the UI is nice and simple.
Unfortunately the equalizer is just a few bands and no other options.
But.. you can use a equalizer app like I do to make it sound better.
Why would I nominate this app?
Because it custom tailors the equalizer to your ears hearing from sound cues. One of the best features and music app should include from now on.

The music app is brand new to the market, its called Soundbest lite, they have a pro with widget support etc. So expect more features.
I promise you'll love it.
Note : this will pretty much only run on roms with I believe 2.3+ audio enhancement. I am using a modified version or Rocko's 3172012 beat audio enhancement that works.
If you want the .zip of the beats file I have please let me know.

I've had this ongoing problem with Mobo player which is my player of choice on my Infuse.
Continuous play/play next automatically seem to be flaky. In months of using it, my videos have played next automatically on 2 occasions and I have no idea what worked that time that isn't working now.

If there's another player out there that supports popup play and enables continuous playback (when song one finishes, it will play song two...etc...) I'd be most grateful! Thanks!

Not sure about popup play, but MX Player > settings> Playback Complete Action > Play Next.
MX is really clean thanks a lot Pony! It has play in background for when you exit the app which serves my purposes just fine! And it does have continuous play which is perfect!
But I don't think I can make a playlist with it... :-/ Any ideas? Should I manually sort the entire media folder into sub folders (playlists) and play them that way?

I like your thinking...( sub folders ) I'll see if I can come up with something else.
NextSong Music Notifications
See what's playing and control your music without leaving your current screen.
Want to know what song just started? Want to skip to the next song, but without leaving your current screen? NextSong Pro notifies you via a heads-up notification when you are listening to music and a new song starts playing on your device. You can see the song and artist name, as well as the album art on the notification. You can skip to next or previous songs, and pause and play music. You can also pin the notification, so it becomes a floating music widget!

Note: This app is still in beta. Please report any bugs before leaving a rating. Also would appreciate general feedback from XDA!
Does this work with Pandora?
Interesting
I would really find this useful as a big music fan, can't wait for a release
can you please provide any mirror link for download other than playstore link. I'd love to try it.
MP3Flow Music is a tool that can play hundreds of songs in the terminal simply, without downloading any audio track, but also allows the descent, so you can take them in memory and play them without Internet.
This utility offers two distinct types of content: Latin music and music in English. In either case you will have a top songs and a complete catalog of both parties. To find what you like just have to browse them even if not want to hear any of these two groups you can always find your artist, song or favorite album with the search box on the top.
MP3Flow Music includes a third section called 'new music' in which recent successes of each month are included. Whether you want to hear a song like you want to download it, you just have to click on your preferred outcome and press on the option you want. With this tool you can listen to your favorite music whether you have Internet as if you have no memory.
