K so yesterday I received AT&T OTA update which I disabled. Today I'm getting LG Software update. Anyone else see this? Is it the same thing as OTA?

I believe that is LG Smartworld.

Oh ok. So I'm good to update it you think?

Smart world yes

I took the update and still kept root. It was small, I had removed all ATT bloat before and it didn't come back after the update.

any flaws with the new update?

No u wont lose any data and your pictures are kept on your sdcard and they will never be deleated by android for anyreason unless u delete them. And the update is good its worth it to do it

There is a good assortment of CM 12 ROMs available, however CM 12, as a 'full' spectrum DD, is just not "aged" enough yet for me. I am using an updated, rooted OEM, and am very happy with it.
Stupid AT&T lol. They got nothing..

Sounds good, mine is rooted with a debloated stock rom.
From what I have been reading, Marshmallow doesnt seem to make a significant difference, now next Android N looks a lot more interesting, worth the change, of course I will upgrade, I always do, but only after I can have it rooted and xPosed working

No, it's complete. They only release the kernel source. The rest is just LG junk.
If it's the kernel i wonder if there is a way to port the vzw mm to h901

The short answer is No. The long answer is: it's way too much work without the right type of dev collaboration.

If the zip file is on the sdcard it will automatically find/select it after local upgrade
If you have the t mobile variant you won't have this option.

Are u saying that the system can be updated only after i change the stock firmware to international? is there no other way? And is it even worth upgrading this time? Thanks in advance

You should probably reply to Post #5, as that person made the statement that the option wasn't available on the T-Mob version, as they might know more. I was just clarifying what he meant by "variant" as that term confused another user.
Is your phone rooted? That is the only reason I can see for wanting to use the local upgrade option.
