Camera/Gallery Corrupting Pictures on SD Card - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Ever since the OTA upgrade to 4.4.4 and the new camera, I've been experiencing an issue where shortly after taking a picture with the stock, it will become corrupted and replaced in the gallery by a grey triangle icon with an exclamation point. This only seems to affect pictures on the SD card. I switched it to save pics to the phone and they don't seem to be corrupted like the pics saved to the SD card are.
Has anyone else experienced this, or have any ideas what could be causing this or how to fix? Thanks!

Do you have kitkat SD card permissions set right? By default they don't really work right.

Complete stock so I haven't touched the permissions. Unrooted as well so not sure if it's possible for me to do this either.
Thanks for the response!

TouchFLO restarting

Has anyone else had an issue with TouchFLO restarting while scrolling through pictures on the today screen? it seems that some images cause it to crash.
I've been having this issue, as well..
been happening to me too...Ive hard reseted 3 times now....always resets on the third picture....no matter what picture it is.
if you have photos taken with any other camera but the one in the TP it will do it. Seems like a well known bug.
Remove the others and the issue goes away. Don't bother hard resetting, you'll just waste your time.
had this problem too. I notice that this is happening because the pics you are trying to view in touchflo are saved in your my pictures folder on your memory card and that is what causes the problem.
If you take the pics and put it in DCIM then the 100 media folder it will fix the problem. To test this you'll notice that new pics you take will scroll just fine but anything you already had saved won't. hope this helps
thanks Ill give it a shot.
Fixed it...thanks man.
quick question bout pics on touchflo
dont have a TP yet waiting on the fuze.
does it show every picture found anywhere in the memory card? or just folder you allow it
i am having the same problem but this fix didn't fix it for me.
I moved all the pictures i had in the My Pictures folder in the memory card and placed them in the 100media folder, and then I took about 4 new pictures and it still kills and restarts TouchFlo.
Any other suggestions?
im not seeing this issue and i have a lot of photos on the memory card. none of them were taken from the PROs image sensor.
what are the common factors between people who are having the problem? i want to see if i have the problem or not...

Most of the pics on my memory card were taken with a Mogul but the first 7 or 8 photos are from the TP. I can see the fourth photo before I flick it.
grr yeah, i just removed all the mogul photos, about 150MB worth!, and its working fine now. It is even scrolling through photos in other directories just fine.
Have to find a way to tell the TouchFlow to only look at one directory so i can keep these other photos on the card somewhere.
OR, it might be that i have to many photos??
I am having the same issue of the restart off touch flo but mine happens when I select people. it restarts everytime.

Disable camera completely on HTC EVO 3D

My camera is starting up automatically and takes pictures every one in a while.
I don't use the camera at all on my phone anyway. I don't want the camera to take pictures automatically.
Things that I did already which didn't help fix the issue:
1) Turned off and restarted the phone
2) Reset to Factory settings.
3) removed the SD card, so that it won't store the pictures, but still opens the camera and complains the SD card is missing
4) force stopped the camera in the settings menu.
None of this is helping, when I am doing anything with the phone, touching some button to type/text/call someone/check my voicemail/anything that involves pressing the part of the glass, the camera app is starting up automatically and taking pictures/complains the SD card is missing.
Not sure, if anyone had this issue. Any suggestions would be truly helpful.
Thanks

[Q] Help please..problems displaying pictures or playing videos

I am running stock ICS but rooted on Skyrocket. In the past few month or so I have been having issues with viewing some pictures and playing some videos taken with the phone. Many of my videos will play for a few seconds and then stop with a message popping up saying "unable to play video"
As far as my pictures go, I can view them all in the gallery in thumbnail view but when selecting a picture and scrolling through them full size in gallery several pictures simply won't show up and instead a small gray square with the white silhouette of shoulders and a round head appear in the middle of the box with jagged "tear" at the upper right corner.
I have cleared the cache in the gallery, media and camera apps. I have uninstalled the battery and rebooted several times. I have tried other apps to play these videos or show the pictures and same thing. I have done a factory reset as well.
I have a new Sansdisk Ultra 16 gb class 10 micro sd card which I unmounted and mounted several times and removed and inserted several times to make sure it was making good contact. I have also done a hard reset on the phone to return it to the stock ICS with not root and still have the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
FYI....my phone has been laggy as hell with the new ICS stock update, using swype and Apex as a launcher. It is driving me nuts....almost to the point of going back to 2.3.5, maybe getting an sIII or maybe getting the dreaded Iphone 5 which I am not sure I can adapt to since I am so use to certain apps and widgets that are not available on the Iphone.
Thanks,
Dave

Sounds like a hardware issue if it happens on both custom and stock roms.....

which in recovery are you on, update to latest sk8's or twrp, make a backup and use titu to backup your apps.
perform a factory reset from within recovery, it will make it stock again, cant remember if rooting sticks but should be fine, its easy to reroot anyways, you will be back to stock apps only, anything you installed will be gone.
if still having issues return to stock using odin, if still having probs you have bad hw

I would have to agree with jyazzie. It sounds just like an issue I had with my original SR. Camera would FC, or if it did open it would not show anything on the screen, except for black.
However if I went to video first THEN changed back to camera, it would work, but would take grainy pics. I contacted AT&T and let them know what was going on. After having gone through 4 hard resets with those scripted "techs", they finally decided that it was a hardware issue.
They sent me a new phone and I sent the old one back in with the caveat that they let me know what happened. It took them a few months but finally I received a message saying that the circuit board for the camera had over heated and melted some of the solder away. Apparently this is a known issue with some of the first and second run models, that when upgraded to ICS caused the solder to melt away.
My recommendation would be to contact AT&T and inform them that you spoke with Samsung about the device (if you have already) , and that they informed you to contact them for a warranty replacement.

Camera app shutdown my phone!

When I make several photos, the phone turn off and does not start up until it is plugged into a charger again (the battery percentage is same, not 0%). But when I use another application like Open Camera, this problem does not happen and the phone works pretty well. Тhis problem frustrates me because one of the advantages of the phone is the good camera! Some solution?
My phone version is FRD-L09

Same issue but battery goes to zero. Photo is not taken
I am on official b394 firmware.
Sometimes even with over 40% battery the phone closes the camera app after taking photo (photo is not saved) and battery shows 0% and phone will shut down in 30 seconds. If I put the charger in the battery goes back to around 20% immediately. First I thought the battery is weaker and needs replacing but if it happens only in camera app and all other (over 140 apps installed no issues? It's very annoying.
I blame a bug in newest firmware. They didn't state any new features for camera app and yet there is motion icon which makes photos like iPhone's "live photo". So certainly they played around camera app in this firmware.
Plus, I verified copying/moving problems from internal storage to SD card which happens sometimes (if bulk moving even under gallery app) gives "SD card damaged" error during the move and the data (photos) will not be copied/moved only deleted from SD card (no crc check on destination folder) so in the end Photos are gone. Workaround: Moving only 200 photos/videos at a time. This is the case with honor 7, honor 8 and two completely different SD cards (size, brand), though same user, must admit!
Starting to lose trust in Honor brand altogether
Can anyone share the solution for this issue? Been having it since the first updates for this year. Always install the latest official update, but the problem is still there. This a FRD-L04 on EMUI 5.0.1, official Nougat 7.0.
BTW, thinking that the battery could have expired, I changed it to a new OEM model. Problem didn't go away, though.
any word what can be done to address the issue?

Camera Images Not Showing in Gallery

Hi all,
I recently got a new phone for my wife which seems to have an issue indexing photos either edited or just taken in the gallery. Sometimes when taking a photo, the image can be seen in the gallery preview of the camera app, but when you click on it, an older photo is shown. Going to the gallery directly, the image just taken can't be seen and may not be for several hours. Other times the images appear in the gallery immediately.
My assumption is the media scanner process is getting killed by the O/S often and isn't picking up new media immediately. I have tried media scanner apps in the Play store, but these don't resolve the situation. I also have set "Media Storage" and "Gallery" apps to ignore battery optimisations to see if that helps, but that hasn't had any affect. The phone has Nougat (not sure which version right now) and an SD card which has been formatted as internal memory.
Is there a way to either get the media scanner to run more frequently or stop the service being killed (if that is indeed the problem)?
Thanks all.
