Hi,
I prefer 11s over standard cm... except for one thing. The lockscreen for CM 11s does not allow for NFC unlock. Does anyone know how to flash the AOSP lockscreen over 11s, replacing the cm 11s custom lockscreen?
You can just disable the CM11S lockscreen. Go into Settings/Lockscreen and uncheck the 'custom lockscreen' option.

That's still the cyanogen lock screen it just looks vanilla. I'm looking to replace the lucky screen with aosp just like regular cyanogenmod.
Like this? This is the standard aosp lockscreen and it is what you get when you disable custom lockscreen on CM11S.

It does not have all the functionality of an AOSP lockscreen, namely NFC unlock. If you flash standard CM or vanilla roms it works, but 11s + disable customlockscreen does not.
I thought I saw a thread once with a list of AOSP roms that you could flash over 11s, one of the roms was the lockscreen I thought.. but now I cannot find it.

You can't flash a ROM over CM11S, you flash a ROM instead of CM11S. Or are you talking about flashing just the lockscreen?

Sorry I just mean a .zip that you flash over 44s to change its lockscreen to the vanilla one.
I haven't seen one, but I'm guessing it'd be in the Apps & Themes section.

Which version of 4EXT are you on? Based on experience I'd bet you're on 1.0.0.6 RC1? If yes, you're not on latest. Update to RC2.

I updated to RC2 and it worked. Thank you. If you don't mind, what is the significance of this new feature?

Only that one change that's mentioned in the changelog.
Since with new builds the roms are using a new way of mounting the patitions (or something in that way) we need a recovery which supports that.
I'm late to the party, but for me this usually indicates there is something wrong with the META-INF files. You can just swap them out for a set from an earlier or later build of the same rom and generally that takes care of it since those files are generally old and not updated frequently.
In tihs particular case, I think I do remember one recent Sultan build missing Cyanogenmod files in the META-INF folder.
Edit:
There's me jumping the gun and missing that the original poster was using an old version of 4ext. I'll leave the info here anyway in case it helps someone else.
Every android version since 2.3.6 to 4.4.2 I always took the torch apk from the latest CM nightly, ported on my aosp rom of choice, copied it in system/app, given permissions, rebooted and it worked. With 4.4.3 I tried a bunch of apks (Milestone 6, latest nightly, Milestone 1), no one seem to work with my rom which is pure AOSP. I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this so, if someone has found a working cm torch apk under 4.4.3, could he post it here?
THanks in advance.

Wait for a ROM that has it to update to 4.4.3?
Oh sorry I haven't been clear... I use that torch only for the high brightness option... Other torches like Purity one doesn't even show that option, that's why i use CM's one. It may seem stupid, but when you're looking for your place at cinema it's really helpful

I took the Torch.apk out of the latest CM11 nightly and it works fine on my own build of Carbon 4.4.3, I replaced it in /system/app with the right permissions.

Hey guys,
I am pretty bored of my stock 4.2.2 now and want to take the leap to 4.4.x What is the most stable ROM you guys have found here so far? I understand that there is no "best".
I am looking for the
largest battery backup
stability
something that looks clean/minimal/flat.
Also, in case there is no absolutely stable ROM available, what is the best Xposed Module(s) etc that can help me change the look of my stock 4.2.2 to that of 4.4.x/Android L?
That translucent status bar with those icons and translucent navbar looks sexy as hell. Any ideas?

Hi Everyone,
I installed Viper XL 4.2.0 onto my phone and used it for some time. I then decided to try Liberty ROM - The Sixth Element. Before installing the Liberty ROM I made a full backup of my Viper XL 'installation' using TWRP (2.8).
After using Liberty ROM for a short period I needed to restore back to the Viper XL ROM, so I did so using TWRP. Everything went smoothly during the restore however my phone is now behaving a little sporadically. It has occurred to me that perhaps the kernel from the Liberty ROM is still installed on the phone.
Here is a screen capture of my ROM info -

Can anybody tell me if I have the correct Kernel installed? A screen capture of the Kernel info from another forum members Viper XL (enabled) phone would also be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo
If you had the wrong kernel installed the phone probably wouldn't boot. When you restored the backup which partitions did you restore?

Hi timmaaa,
Thanks for responding to my post. I can't name (for certain) the partitions that I restored. However I can say that I used TWRP and that I used the default settings, so I am going to assume that my settings were similar to the ones (used on the right) below -
Which (if any) of the partitions 'boot', 'Cache', 'Data' or 'System' represent the Kernel?
Kind Regards,
Davo

If you used the stock settings then you have restored the kernel, it resides in the boot partition.

I have it on mine. DON'T use lucky patcher on it lol it can revert your phone back to stock 14.1 if you aren't careful. other then that, its flawless
I have Simple Launcher 3 with a custom theme and icon pack for the best battery life. I call it the AMOLED Theme. Its so much better than 6.0.1. Also used Pico Open Gapps. Future Plans to make the entire system a dark/black theme

So, I realize this ROM is fairly new. But, is this ROM pretty stable then? Sounds like it is?
I have a SM-G900V rooted and unlocked bootloader, running BP1 baseband....can I flash CM14? If so, is everything functioning properly?
According to kapptin boxxi 2 posts above it is great
It should work fine to flash it using twrp remember to flash android 7.1 gapps at same time as the cm 14.1 rom

I was able to install the rom no problem but now I have no 3g/4g and calls/sms isn't working. Anybody else having that issue?

Safe to flash this coming from Ok3? (unlocked bootloader w/ twrp installed)
