[Q] Help ! my phone's power button isn't responsive in fastbootboot mode - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried several methods to unlock bootload of my nexus 5, and I can get the page that lemme choose yes or no by Volum button ,but I can't select the yes by power button, power button just like unordered,so my nexue5 can't take the next step to complete the unlock. But I can still reboot my device by consistently press power . finally i realized that my nexus5 just can't use power button in fastboot mode to select any thing while volume botton is going well

[Q] Can't get into fastboot with power+vol down

I tried to turn off the phone by by pressing the power button for 10 sec as directed in the guide on the development section. But all that did was restart the phone. So i turned it off with the regular method then tried to get into fastboot with power+vol down; But all the phone did was just boot normally to the stock ROM.
PS. I am trying to unlock the bootloader to install costum roms.
Thanks for helping
Go to settings > power > make sure "fast boot" is unchecked

Try that
I like to power down the phone then hold the decrease volume rocker then power on the phone. I've never run into any issues so this a pretty foolproof methodology in my experience.

[TUT] Turn on phone without power button. [Broken power button] (HARDWARE)

Quick explanation
Ok so i had the bootloop problem with my Infuse , i fixed it by opening my phone and playing with the power button hardware.
I accidently broke the power button , I looked for hours for a way to turn on my phone with out a power button with no success until i found tried this:
TUTORIAL STARTS HERE
1. Enter Download mode by holding both volume rockers and inserting a USB cable while still holding
2. Get to the screen that asks you if continue with Download Mode or not.
3. Remove USB cable and click the 2nd option.
4. Phone will restart and that's how you turn on a phone with no power button.
Hope it helped some people.
you can also try a re-map.

you can also try to use the volume button parts to replace the power button...or order a new power button

I think only Samsung uses "Download Mode". LG probably has Fastboot like most other Android devices (Vol-Dn + Pwr). But you can try it - it won't hurt.
EDIT: Finally got an LG device. It does indeed have Download mode (and no Fastboot...Vol-Dn+Pwr brings me to a scaled back bootloader). Don't know if if asks to continue or not, but Download Mode doesn't hurt the phone unless you are potentially flashing software with it.
iTs working!! on Motorola Razr xt910
Android 2.2 and is working! After the phone turn on I was downloaded the app pwr bottom to volume key! And that is all okkk!
But take care after press (down and up) if you press up Inside tthe download mode this mean select! And on my first time I have take the recovery mode! xD
Good loooook!

Hello mate!!! Thanks for the post but i have problems here. First of all my phone (Galaxy Wonder) goes into download mode by pressing volume down + home btn + power button, so i though instead of the volume rockets i had to press volume down + power button and then usb cable. It worked. Got into download mode!!! Then i remove the cable, wait a few seconds and then press down to cancel and restart. Then it happens that the screen shows a grey battery, then it fades out and back in for twice. Then the phone just turns off. Battery is charged! What could be the problem? (I have to say i just completely removed the power button from the motherboard, but keeping the metal things that were around it still soldered on the motherboards.
Any guess???
Thanks a lot
LG mytouch e739

IDOO tablet ID801 reset or restore

Hello anyone.
I have an android tablet. The child forget it's password and tryed many times wrong password. not tabled is locked.

Tablet Hard Reset
I don't have experience with
this specific tablet, but many
Android devices use a similar
procedure.
Start with the tablet fully
powered off (not just in
standby). To force the tablet to
a fully off state, hold the power
button pressed for until it
powers down. This can take 10
to 20 seconds.
Hold the volume up button
pressed (some devices may use
the volume down button), and
then press and hold the power
button, until a small menu
appears. Release the power
button and then the volume
button.
Use the volume up/down
buttons to select the required
menu entry, and then tap the
power button to action the
selection.
I hope this works for you

Hi,
Have you tried download mode + Smart Switch Emergency Software Recovery?
Download for Windows here
1. Press Power + Volume DOWN + Home for 3 sec then release power and keep holding Volume DOWN + Home for 5 more seconds then release.
2. Now press Volume UP and your phone should be in download mode even though your screen is black.
3. Open Smart Switch Emergency Software Recovery
4. Connect your phone to your computer.
5. When connected, click on "MORE" in the top right corner, then choose "Emergency software recovery and initialisation"
6. Follow the on-screen guide.
IF you get stuck at 51%, please see THIS page
Hope this can be of any help for you

[INFO] LG K3 Modes - Download / Recovery Etc

Here are the modes for the LG K3 VS450
Factory Data Reset - Power off phone. Hold down volume up button. While holding the button down press the power button and hold it then while holding it when the LG logo pops up let go for a quarter of a second then hold down again on the power button. You will enter Factory Data Reset Mode. This is your typical LG Reset Mode (one on a white background) and has 2 options.. yes or no.
Advanced Recovery - Power off phone. Remove battery from phone. Replace battery in phone. Hold volume down + power button at the same time. You should see a message saying "Recovery Mode loading... " when you do let go of the buttons. You will enter the Advanced Recovery mode. This is your typical Android Recovery with many options.
Download Mode - Power off phone. Hold volume up button. While holding volume up button plug your data cable into your computer. You will enter Download mode. This is your typical LG download mode.
Safe Mode - Power off phone. Hold down volume down button. While holding the button down press the power button and hold it until you boot up. You will enter Safe Mode. This is your typical LG Safe Mode. It shows safe mode at the bottom left of your screen and can be exited easily by selecting exit from the notifications menu. On some LG's it will require a reboot others it wont.
IMEI Display - Plug phone into computer via data cable. Turn phone off. Remove battery from phone and replace it. Hold down volume up + volume down + power button. After the LG logo you will see a white image pop up make sure to quickly let go of the buttons. You are now staring at IMEI Display. I do not know if this is normal for all LG's or not but I would imagine so. I do not know what it is for either other than perhaps something industry related? Test modes? Etc. I will research and try to find out. I have an industry level barcode reader and software so when I get time I will read the barcodes and see what data I can get. I will also try to replicate on other LG's here.
