[Q] Infrared remote app for DIY IR device on audio jack? - Android Apps and Games

Hi,
I am looking for a nice remote control app to control my TV, DVD, Stereo etc.
I do not have a built in IR sender but want to use a DIY IR sender which just connects to the audio jack of my device.
Unfortunately all nice apps I can find are for built in IR sender only. Are there any with nice remote GUIs for DIY IRs?
Thanks

this is good innovation, if u find any app for tv plz pm me..

I found zappir to support a lot of devices, only downside is you need the ir blaster on your device

Audio IR: play store
Supposed to work with a three component IR transmitter; one mini jack plug + 2 ir leds

This sort of thing is what you need I have seen one on eBay where the it if LEDs are mounted directly on to the adaptor
http://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-EMITTER-3-5MM-MONO-PLUG/dp/B008O35XOI
Also this on eBay
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=171518217895&alt=web b
I was also wondering if this would work for non it devices just needs the author to implement these into there application and we could all have remote controls from our android devices ?

Remote TV

Hello,
I downloaded some program's to use my telephone (Qtek 2020 and Qtek S100) for remote control.
But my tv doesn't response on my commands.
Someone know a tweak or a other program ?

this is the only remote control program that work with xda2020
I use NoviRemote and it works great. There are lots and lots of pre-programed remotes loaded into the app and if needed you can train it to your remote as well. However the XDA does not have a very powerful IR signal so in order for it to work you must be close to the TV...
and the ir wave is pretty narrow so you really have to aim at the sensor on the tv

IR remote app?

The watchON app on Gear 2 is very limited.
I really would like to have some remote control option for my Audio system.
Because my TV audio output is connected to my Yamaha receiver.
Is there any 3rd party app for IR remote control ?
Thx.
I'd also like to see the ability to control my Roku as well.
In general, an IR app with learning facility would be great

I think this is not possible. The iR on Samsung is a sender module, not receiver, at least in S4/Note 3.

ok; I would also be satisfied with some app who can learn through a 4 digit remote controller code.
And not limited to 2 type of devices (TV and air conditioner)
The Gear/smartwatches in general are usually purchased by early adopter/techie types who have a good chance of having a high end home theater system. Most of these setups have the tv piping into a surround receiver, so the Watch-On is terrible in that it doesn't have support for more devices like these.
roku ir
I know the roku has an ir receiver, so it should be a matter of simply finding the right frequency. No reason it couldn't work
Get universal galaxy ir remote or smart ir remote these both have macro to turn on multiple devices and hdmi selectors dslr, coolers and fans
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy

This only for the phone, not the watch hopefully they will make app for the gear

Yes I use these on my Note 3, but having on the watch is much more "handy". I already sent a request for the Unified Remote guys to write an app for Tizen that works like their phone app. I'd love to use the Gear touchscreen like a mouse for my HTPC.

Note 3 IR Blaster Applications

I think that one of the most underrated aspects of the note 3 is the IR Blaster. Most phones do not come with them anymore.
Currently I use an application called IR Remote that allows me to control my TV's. I also have the full version of Unified Remote, which supports custom IR commands, but apparently the Note 3 does not support learning IR codes (which is what Unified Remote requires apparently).
My question is: What applications/devices do you use for your IR blaster? Have you done custom IR codes?

Peel smart remote.
Sent from my SM-G925F
AnyMote Smart Remote is a really good anything remote. Peel Remote is good for having a decent remote and TV Guide, all-in-one. However, I haven't ever toyed around with anything to "learn" codes, because of the funny hardware that's involved and due to lack of funds.

The personal best for me is SURE remote - it has brands that ive never seen before and they work (i know becoause im playing with it when i go to a tech store full of tvs and many other electronics)
KeuwlSoft - Create your own Universal Remote
Wow -- Now I know what I will do with my Note 3 after I replace it soon. I know that this app will work, since I've used many of their free APP products in the past, which are phenomenally great, and also very comprehensive, if somewhat complex. I'm just now getting their "Remote Creator" app from Google Play, (since I can't post the link yet-- MODS ?? ). Or go to their website at Keuwl dot *** which I recommend, to see all their cool tools. They also have a lot of hardware projects to proto creating both apps and hardware.
I know it will be great. Why? I just used their "Frequency Generator" App to tune "BT earbuds", which are really hearing aids. Turns out, they support going down to below 10 Hz! Their specs say only > 100 Hz, but that is only what it will amplify when using them as HA's. BT music capability goes down below 10 HZ, just from my Note 3. As a reference, here's the lowest sources, where human ears can more "feel the bass, but can't hear it" as well:
Pipe Organ = 18 Hz
Piano = 25 Hz
Guitar (Bass)= 28 Hz
Drum (Bass) = 75-35 Hz w/harmonics
If you are planning on picking anything for remote sound, I'd suggest using their "Frequency Generator" app to test and tune your hardware / ear combinations. Using music itself to tune any equalizer, is more frustrating and not reliable at all.
Peel Remote for me! I have tried others, but I have a TiVo/XBoX/Receiver/TV combo and love being able to program in the custom funcitons. Bu the advertising and buggy interruptions ruin much of it. To that end, I just did a TB of it and when I tries to "update" or take over my lock screen I can just "restore" the previous version.
ASmart remote works as well to set up room combinations etc. I use that if I am at work and want to control the office tv's
Anymote wins hands down, widgets, automation, editable, just brilliant.

tv remote app

Hi, does anybody know of a gear app similar to peel smart remote that can enable control of the remote app on the phone? Thanks in advance.
Does the watch have a IR blaster? That's what peel uses in samsung phones.
Now somthing to control networked devices is very possible.

The watch doesn't have IR, but it should be possible to operate a remote app on the phone.

Flirc app / app to learn ir remote INPUT

Hi guys.
This is my first post and i hope i will not be shredded for being new.
I came here since neither google nore other forums nore youtube helped me with my quest, which is
to have an IR remote to controll aimp on my android device.
I only did find "make ir blaster" or app reviews, or Bluetooth related info.
There is a device called Flirc, which is a small usb stick with IR receiver.
It comes with software to bind the IR input received to keyboard/mouse commands.
The website says all devices that can handle a usb keyboard are able to handle flirc.
The downfall is that the software only comes for Windows/IOs/Android TV.
So i wonder if there is an android app which is homebrewn to make the USB stick of a use in
an android smartphone.
Other than that, i am happy to accept any hint for another method to
controll aimp or any other player vie IR.
IR is a must.
I can remember the ipod/iphone remote which was so easy to use (IR only).
So can u help me spread some light on this topic?
Greetings !
Mandy
