Regular Facebook app versus Xperia with Facebook - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know what the difference and advantages/disadvantages between the two?

Uh correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Xperia for Facebook just something to integrate the Facebook app even further into Sony's UI/specific apps?

As far as I know, there isn't a big difference. I believe using Xperia with Facebook you can sync your facebook photos to the Album app for easy viewing. Also when you upload photos it will say something about uploaded with Xperia Smartphone on your post. It will also have it's own separate album so it functions like a regular album and not like mobile uploads. I just use regular facebook option.
The Walkman app has a feature that posts the song you are listening to on Facebook, but all it does is display in text the song you are listening to. I thought maybe it would create a soundclip for people to listen to but it doesn't do anything special.

The most advance feature of Xperia with Facebook : upload high res images which you can't do with regular FB in classic way.
Regular FB: 1280px
Xperia with FB : 2048px

Facebook Graph search doesnt seem to be working with version on Z3. Anyone get it to function?

does the xperia version take as much ram as the FB version?

Xperia is not a standalone app, just an addon for Regular FB

Issues with Sony Smart Watch 2 - Pebble does it better

Hi All
Just for my Sony Smart Watch 2 yesterday and feeling a little underwhelmed
I also have a Pebble which I feel at the moment is better.
Two things:
1. I cannot get the Sony to stay in control of Google Play music when its playing. It will do the volume but then when you go to forward a track it defaults to the Walkman app and starts that and plays the demo tracks. I have tried disabling the Walkman app but then the app on the watch just crashes.
2. The second and less important thing is Facebook integration. On the Pebble it will deal with two Facebook accounts being run on the phone. One in the Facebook app and the other Facebook Messenger. Both running different accounts. The Sony seems to only recognize the actual Facebook app.
Anyone have a solution to these?
Oh I just thought of a third, lack of watch faces! And especially watch faces giving a lot of information. The Pebble face I use has time, weather and phone battery status...
Well theres my rant!

How are you even controlling media from the watch at all? The media player app is missing in the Android app store at the moment. However, even on the Smartwatch 1 I believe the Sony official app was locked to the default media player on your device. Most brands of phone have their own take on the music player, such as Sony's Walkman app. The volume control is not related to the app as its the master output volume. But the track changes will be sent to a specific app, not the one that's currently playing music.
Now, there is an upgrade of Music Player Extras by Sony that allow to control Google Play Music correctly. You can set volume, play/pause song, go to next or prev song; but u can't see Artist or Title of the song from the smartwatch.
That's an improvement. Shame about no song details. Thanks for the heads up

Yeah I spotted it last night. I have an HTC phone and before yesterday night, there was no music player at all for the smartwatch 2 hence my previous comment. I have it now.
I too have an HTC phone (One - M7) and the Smartwatch 2. This Music Extras is the only one that work properly with Play Music until now.

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable or uninstall the New Events aggregator plugin. The one that's just a yellow circle with a number in the middle. I'm using WatchIt!, so don't think I need this New Events thing.

[Q] Album ArtWork bad quality on Walkman

Hello guys I just bought this phone and I'm pretty comfortable with it.
Just updated Walkman to latest version but everytime I see the artworks on the player, it is not displaying at the correct resolution, in fact it is bad quality.
I double checked the images I have embedded with the albums and they are high resolution ones... so I dont know what to do, any suggestions?
Other thing I want to ask you is:
is there anyway to port de music player application from ICS to this phone? When I had ST21 that player displayed the correct images with the correct quality and I also found it more reduced in feature which I found lovely.
Most of the "new" feature on Walkman application I dont use and I found it kind of uncomfortable to see.
I also tried with other apps but they are ugly and dont have Sony UI style.
Sorry for my bad english!
Keep it up guys!
Not really sure what the problem is with the newer Walkman versions, but yeah this issue has been around since version 8. Maybe your embedded art is too big? I try to keep mine at around 500x500.
Did you try uninstalling the updates to your Walkman app? I think XC default Walkman is the one without the "Home" page and might be the one you need.

Where did my Playmemories online Album app integration go to?

I used to have play memories integration in my album app, and all of a sudden it's not there anymore. Any ideas why?

Z1C List of Bloatware you can disable!

I wanted to share my list of disabled bloatware (Disabling wont remove the app). This is done from Settings - Apps - All -click the app you want to disable, uncheck Show notifications, then simply hit Disable and done! If Info-Eye still keeps haunting in the Update Center, or any other bloatware. Those update notifications can be turned off! To-do this open Update Center, click those three dots you see in upper right corner(aka settings), manage updates and then click the apps name, that you don't wanna get updates anymore.

Android Video on facebook

Hi
I wonder a lot about my facebook / messenger app.
When I send / receive a video to / from friends on the messenger, it makes the whole goat into the sound as you can listen to the video I've added on the link.
I had a Samsung Galaxy S8, I thought it was something wrong with, but now I have a Oneplus5,
Like doing the same i have tried to see in settings on facebook but can not find anything ,,
It seems like it's wrong when the android / facebook app compresses the video to facebook that goes wrong there ,,
Oneplus 5 run with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat)
Facebook version 135.0.0.22.90
Messenger version 129.0.0.17.91
I really hope there is someone who has a solution, not good, you can not send videos to each other, thanks in advance
