Hi everyone. Not sure if this is normal or not but whenever I connect to my WiFi at home, I have the data signals that stay in the statusbar. Sometimes the LTE signal will show and disappear. Not sure if both data and WiFi are being used or not

Looks like you have an active text messaging app running. Is this web based or communicating via the network? If network based, this is the reason both indicators are showing in this screenshot.

Not sure what you mean by web based or network but I didn't have any text messaging app running other than the stock app. Also its been three days that's its been like this.
I just rebooted the phone and its now gone. Don't know why I didn't try that first
That isn't the stock messaging app in your status bar or home screen. What I mean is what medium it utilizes to transmit the message. Is it your carrier (3G/LTE) or is it transmitted using data through the web?

Ah I understand what you mean. The sms app in the homescreen is actually the stock app but I'm using an icon theme so that's why it looks different. As for the icon in the statusbar, its just blackberry messenger.
So far it hasn't showed up again after I rebooted. I will report back if it happens again and see what might cause it

I think it's when you have a data connection (or wi-fi) on, the signal bar turns green. Data connection off it's white.

I guess the data connection is not always on. What I have been looking in to it, it only gets white, when I don't have the connection active.
green - connected to google sync servers
white - not connected to google sync servers
Thankss very much... so its normal when bar get white or something wrong with my phone?

depends on the quality of service your provider is providing...
mine is normally green all the time but if I saw it going on and off all the time ( excluding me switching between wifi and 3g all the time ofcourse ) I suspect there something wrong with my data connection... bad reception, inactive connections get closed ( some providers do this ), bad service quality

fix
1-install and open
2-hit on look for apns sitting for your sim , another menu will pop to pick you apns
3- hit any one thats will pop another menu with sitting (you can apply it or GO TO ANDROID APPS SITTINGS)
AND HERE IS THE CATCH.
hit it thats when you see two apns sittings
go to the first one and apply the default or what you add
then go to second one and apply the default again .or what you
thats will fix the apns in the phone and the signal and data stays on all the time
i try this in t mobile us
hope this work for others

Agreed but do you mean that data won't sleep after this?
I understand the instructions: effectively you use the suggested app to access the apn settings of your phone. it shows that there is two different apn settings, and by setting them both to default will fix the data connection problems.
I tried this, however it has had no effect on my phone. tested extensively as I am in hospital just now and haven't been off my phone.
Vodafone UK, HTC one S S4, rooted with stock 4.0.4 android.
Easiest/quickest fix I've found is to change connection type to GSM only, then back to CDMA once the phone signal resets. bloody annoying though, surprised that there isn't a fix for this yet.

I get an Error 500 message when I try and visit the web site. It happens on my Nexus 5 on LTE and my home PC.
I guess it's just me?

Just checked, its working fine for me in California, 8:13 pm Pacific Time.
Works for my N5, N7 2012 - both running KitKat and the older HTC's running ICS - locate and ring her's at full volume.
Check your settings to see if it was turned off - power down & reboot it, try again.

Check if your Location settings isn't off!!
It's never worked for me even with the Nexus 4. Google Location Reporting is on. Location is on and is in Battery Saving mode which uses my Wi-Fi connection to locate my phone. Their app is hopeless so I now use an app called Lookout which is a lot more reliable than the Google one.
Changed the Mode to High Accuracy but still no luck locating my phone!!!!

My issue isnt that it doesnt work, it's that I can't even get to the web site. I get an error 500 message when I go to the web site. It happens if I use my phone or my computer with Chrome, AOSP browser, or Internet Explorer on my PC.
I'm sure some people are going to thing I'm dumb, but does anyone know what this icon is? My first thought was home something like home wifi but that doesn't make sense and the only two times I have seen it was at a tattoo parlor and at work.

Settings, about, help, icon glossary. I believe it means you are somehow connected to a network extender
I'm quite sure that is a 'network extender', what it does is it extends your mobile data to give you better signal, sort of like a little mini 4g tower or whatever.
A lot of companies have their buildings wired with network extenders for poor service indoors.... Basically makes it voip for calls, But you will only get 1x/3g data speed, depends on which extender they use

I can confirm that it's a network extender. We have a vacation home in a very poor service area and my previous employer agreed to supply one so that I would be reachable by cell phone (we pretty much live at the vacation house from April through September). The only time I see that icon is when I'm there, and it disappears when I get 30-50 meters away from the house.
I left that company but was told to keep the extender, which is great . . . without it my battery drain is astronomical as the phone would seek and attempt to hold a signal.

Hello everyone. After updating to the newest Lineage I now have this symbol in my service status. The signal strength with a small x in the bottom. NOT over, but in the bottom. See attached pic. Can't find this anywhere on Sony's website OF COURSE, or anywhere on the internet. And I have no internet now since noticing this. Just regular phone service. Yes, cellular data is on. And no data . And no, there are no data limits set. They are off in fact. See attached again. And no, there are no network restrictions and yes the phone bill is paid. What is this and how do I make it go away and how do I get my data service back? All I can use right now is wifl. Hope you can see the pics below. I don't see them but says they are uploaded. The icon I am describiing is the signal strength bars and it Lte and the part that is the problem is the small x in the lower right corner . Again, the X is not above the icon but below lower right.
Any help is appriciated.
