Trying to Sim unlock Galaxy Ace.
Howdy, I checked all the other threads and solutions but most are having trouble actually getting the code - I got the code (by installing CM7) OK but when I went to CM11 (that's the only rom I have that asks for unlock code) it immediately says sim unlock request unsuccessful.
I tried restoring my stock firmware backup but CWM says error restoring /system and it doesn't work.
Also tried searching for a stock ROM but for some reason there's no Australian one listed.
I've tried the code 2-3 times, I don't want to try again and get it blocked

First of all I hope this has not been covered, I searched but found nothing.
I recently bought an unlocked Captivate from the US, I am in Australia. I put my sim in and all was good. Used it for about 4 weeks and then one day turned it on and said on the screen 'you have entered an incorrect unlock code, please contact service provider.'
Now I never entered a code or even had a chance to enter a code. Now it will not let me use any sim at all or even give me a chance to enter and unlock code, which I have obtained using the one click unlock found in this forum.
The phone is rooted but was working fine when rooted originally.
Can someone help? I can still use phone with wifi just not sim. I have tried a hard reset and that still has the same problem. I have tried flashing it back to an older rom, same deal.
What can I do? I can't even enter an unlock code to get it unlocked.
All sim based devices have a PUK code...contact your provider, ask for it and then try to unlock your phone till it ask for it...then you can reset it...that'd what I would do.

I own lg p500h and when I enter 2945#*500# it doesn't work' .it doesn't open the unlock sim card code box for me what should I do?
You are probably on a custom rom. Maybe this code only works on stock rom(or those based on stock).
So, I think you could either try
Reverting to stock and then unlocking your sim
or
Unlocking your sim through another phone

I've found on the thread below answers regarding unlocking the sim card - that's not the case I think : I bought a new sim card from a different provider and trying to unlock the LG phone from its previous provider...

Check System settings -> About phone -> Model number. If it says something other than 500, use that number to get to the hidden menus.

That code won't work on any custom rom, make a nandroid, flash a stock rom, or a rom based on stock like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574523 then enter the code and the unlock menu should pop up.
Im trying to unlock my skyrocket, using an unlock code I bought but, when I insert non native sim, it does not ask for unlock code like it used to 3 months ago. I've been using it as a tablet "phone" with airplane mode on to save battery, but now it doesn't even notice a sim card is in.. Ive tried dialing: *#7465625# it well show "personalization" loading but then it force closes! Please help! Thanks
OH I also just did a factory reset... but still doesn't work
did you ever try that code, if you did and worked its unlocked forever
if you never tried the unlock code but are now, you have to be on stock firmware to enter code, then you can use a custom rom

Im not on any rom! i didnt insert code, i just got it!

I have, well now had, an unlocked Tmobile Note 5 . I was messing around with various roms without much problems until I installed the xposed framework. Long story short i could get passed the splash screen. So, i went to TWRP and installed a perfect backup I saved of Darth's rom. Upon booting i was greeted with an invalid sim message. I tried reverting to a stock backup via recovery but i had but still the same message.
Now i need to unlock again, which i can only do on a stock rom bc the tmobile unlock app recognizes I'm on a CFW.
I tried restoring the modem and EFS from a backup that was unlocked and no dice! I'm wondering which unlocking method could have possibly been used.
My question
Once I'm unlocked, which files can I save in the event I need to reinstall if lose unlocked status again?

I've got a S7 that's happily running LineageOS 19, but I didn't realise the device was locked until switching network. I've got an MCK / NCK unlock code from eBay, however I just get "unlock unsuccesful" when entering. I've confirmed the IMEI I sent for the code is correct - the only thing I can think is that the custom rom might be causing problems but don't seem to be able to find similar threads on here. Do I need to go back to stock to remove the lock?
As suspected, needed to be downgraded to a rom based on stock and it then unlocked successfully.
