Hey guys, I recently bought a Verison Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V) and im not any sort of expert at rooting. I rooted my last device with Geo's Towelroot but my device isnt supported now. If anyone could walk me through the steps of getting this S5 rooted ill be more than happy to pay you a small fee for the help. I would really like to get this thing rooted today so I can get rid of all of this bloatware. Ill pay through Paypal or however you would prefer within reason. Ill need someone to pretty much walk me through this step by step using skype or some other way of communicating. Phone call would work aswell. Id greatly appreciate some help with this. I will be monotoring this thread until I get someone to help. Thanks for your time mates
Hi,
I suggest you read as much of this thread on the subject as you can. Specifically the opening post perhaps and the last several pages to read the latest discussion on this,
> Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 5 > Verizon Galaxy S 5 General > Status on Root/Custom Recovery/Bootloader
You can join that discussion as well.
Any more questions on this device can go in your devices Q&A section, here...
> Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 5 > Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
There's many other threads in that section asking about root methods, you should have a look.
And please, don't offer money for help on XDA. That's not what this site is about. It won't get you quicker, better or easier help.... It will likely just get your post flamed. ?
Good luck!

Hey, thanks man. My offer still stands though. Thumbed through that thread and as of right now im not sure it can be rooted or what and i hate searching and searching through forums to find stuff, so if anyone has a 100% sure way of rooting my device and can walk me through it, there is a reward^^
You can ask in the section I linked last.
And you can offer a reward, but that's not what XDA is about, and some may pass you by based on the very notion. Just some friendly advise.
Thank you, thread closed.

Hi Guys, I'm back after a very long absence. I was originally here when it was all about the XDA. I'v had to have a new log in so cant really do much until i do 10 posts. Its nice to be back. I see that there are still some amazing developers on this forum.
I'm now a Mac user so am finding it hard to find flashing software without getting loads of spam pop ups/malware intrusions.
I'm trying to fix a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 at the moment that the user managed to brick after doing an official update. Its just stuck in a continuous boot loop...switch on and you get the samsung galaxy splash screen and goes no further.
Any of you wizards able to point me in the right direction?
Cheers in advance.
its great to be back
Hi,
They just changed the way the development sections work. If someone under 10 posts posts in a development thread... An automatic thread is created in the Q&A section. So feel free to post.
Also, for your issue, Here is where to ask for help,
> Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 > Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.
If Anyone can help I would be great full. It has been dead for over 1 year, but i just learned that my GS3 was good as new after XDA helped me with a debrick image for 4.4.2, I was convinced it was fried when even my JIGG was useless. Help Please for the Pantech P9070 AT&t Burst.
Hi,
Here is a thread for your device with a similar issue,
> General discussion > Questions and Answers > Pantech Burst Bricked HELP!!!
It's an old thread tho, not sure if links will work still. Or if the procedure is still relevant. So flash anything at your own risk.
If that doesn't help, then it would be best to ask here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
That was very helpfull
thank you, i found it to be interesting, however if anyone has a 4.3 jelly bran debrick image, i will post a $ of 10% of what it goes for on ebay. A very nice beers worth
This isn't the place to ask then, the second link I posted is. ?
If only the world functioned like XDA Developers

Imagine there's no countries

And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
thank you all for giving me so much over the years
Thank you, thread closed.
To start, I love this forum. You all have saved me and taught me so much. Thanks
But I have searched all over and am not finding anything to work. I know that I'm needing some professional help lol.
Currently have a soft-bricked galaxy s3 us cellular (SCH-R530). Phone was rooted and I can still access CWM thru the VolumeUP+PWR+Home on boot. I still have access to the download menu. Other than that the phone hangs on boot on the Samsung Galaxy s3 screen.
Here is the information I have found And tried pertaining to this phone. My biggest hold up is that alot of the downloads have been removed, as this is an old phone.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Please standby while we have your thread/question moved to the appropriate sub-forum for your device.
For future reference you can find your device sub-forum here (bookmark/subscribe this):

Within that section you will find a dedicated q&a sub-forum (this is where your thread is going to be moved to):

Good luck!
Slightly confused.. So it was proper to start this thread in the verizon section with it being a US cellular phone?

As far as I can tell, they're the same device, and therefore because the US Cellular version doesn't have a dedicated section on XDA, it defaults to being here.

Hi guys
i am new to rooting devices i have jailbroke my ipad etc but i have always had android mobiles in particular nexus 4/5/6
i am looking to root my device the sole reason being so i can use Hound on my phone. can someone point me in the right direction on where to start with this currently running *nexus 6 with latest firm update*
thanks for the help in advance
Hi,
Before asking this basic question on a very popular development friendly device, I would suggest you visit the N6 section, here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6
The General section has a Roll up Index thread which likely has the help you need, and there are other great guides and tutorials in the General and Q&A sections.
If you get stuck after doing your homework....you can ask for help in the Nexus 6 Q&A section. This hobby takes a LOT o reading. You will find it tough to get help if you don't read read read first. Especially with a Nexus device, where there is lots of info here for those. Also, the more you know, the less likely you will run into troubles with your device.
Good luck!! And I will close this thread.

I have a few questions regarding a specific device, and I'm not quite sure where here on XDA to ask them.
** Info on the device I'm looking for information on, and my current findings:
he Samsung Galaxy J3 through Virgin Mobile. I saw the J5 and J7 but haven't seen anything about the J3. It says it came out this year, so perhaps there isn't yet a dedicated section to it. I would like to know where I should ask questions about this device, if possible, as I'm considering upgrading to it from my HTC Desire 510 (currently rooted, thanks to XDA and a friend of mine helping me learn along the way) and as I want to make sure I can root my next phone (without having to shell out $400 for a galaxy s5) it's part of my research to see if there is support here, on XDA.
I apologize if this isn't the proper forum to place this question, I'm very, very much a noob regarding forum etiquette in general. Point me in the right direction and off I'll fly!
