[Q] Clockworkmod recovery not recovering

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus (rooted stock 4.0.4). I decided I would test out Clockworkmod touch recovery before doing anything too serious with it. So, I made a backup, rebooted, deleted an app, went back to recovery, and restored my backup. But, while it was restoring my data, it suddenly stopped and said "Error while restoring /data!" I rebooted and, after waiting through a really long boot, it booted into a semi-reset version of my phone. All of the apps claim to be installed but will not start.
So, thinking it could be a touch recovery issue, I flashed an older version of clockworkmod recovery and tried restoring after clearing my data, cache, factory reset, and Dalvik cache. Still, the exact same thing happened. I also tried restoring older backups, but the exact same thing happened.
What is going on, and what should I do? Thank you for your time.
Please, guys. I need help. I have no clue what to do.

No Dalvik Cache?

Hello everyone. I have a little issue with my phone. I had JellyBam installed and I wanted to run an RUU to restore my phone and do a hardware warranty claim before I leave the country. I did a nandroid backup with TWRP before starting the process.
After I flashed the stock ville recovery i remembered i need to unlock my phone so I could use it in foreign countries. I wanted to use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693491
I flashed TWRP and wanted to restore my nandroid backup. It said it failed and I dont believe it told me why it failed.
So then I thought I dont really need my old settings I just need a rooted phone to run some codes in the terminal and get the unlock code. So I decided to flash the jellybam zip folder along with its corresponding kernel. After rebooting it was stuck on the HTC logo.
When I tried to wipe Dalvik cache it said it failed. Then I was wondering if it was just from the recovery so i tried it with CWM. After selecting advanced, wipe Dalvik Cache. it didnt show the list of NO,NO,NO,NO,YES,NO. and it didnt say it failed either.
I think I hit a dead end... could someone please help me? Is the Dalvik cache gone or something?
I never had this happen but I think, if you completely wiped, installed a fresh Rom and never booted once its logically there's no dalvik as its only created on initial boot up.

Just getting the logo and a black screen after an update

Samsung Galaxy S2 i727 Skyrocket.
I recently updated to a 4.3 rom.
It booted up and I just got a message "Unfortuanately, Nfc Service has stopped. Blame Tyler."
I couldn't get the message to go away and the only thing I could do was a hard reboot.
Still same issue.
Rebooted into Recovery mode.
Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, format /system, wipe dalvich cache
Restored an older rom.
It booted up with no issues. But when I rebooted, I just get the Samsung logo and then the screen goes black.
I even tried Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, format /system, wipe dalvich cache and installed a new rom from scratch.
Same problem.
I have no idea what to try next or why this is happening.
Any help or comments are welcome.
Thanks

What version of cwm? Most likely you need to update it. And what 4.3 rom?
Thanks.
I had a an older version of CWM and just upgraded to 6043..
Its now working with reboots...
I didn't realize CWM had that type of effect..

[Completed] Sony Xperia S Bootloop Issue

I have recently rooted my Sony Xperia S without any trouble. And also restarted the phone without any trouble. But after I installed a Unicode font using another app and given the super user permission to font folder. And after that I have restarted the phone and stuck in bootloop. I can see Sony logo and then Xperia logo and restarting repeatedly. I have some files to recover. But the device is not recognized by ADB.
So please help me to solve this issue.
Hello,
Do you have a custom recovery installed? Can you boot to recovery? Did you make a nandroid backup in recovery? If you have custom recovery you can either restore the nandroid and you'll be fixed or you can do the wipes in recovery(wipe data/factory rest, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache). If that doesn't work you can flash a custom ROM if one exists for your device.
If you don't have custom recovery then you'll have to restore your stock firmware via PC and your devices compatible flash tool.
