[Completed] [Q] Xperia Ion LTE TWRP/CWM recovery problem - XDA Assist

Hi
I've been using this sony phone xperia ion.
I want to install kitkat in my phone so i've got this link>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2682782
Which requires twrp/cwm recovery mode so i followed this link>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634375
I've unlocked my bootloader, rooted it and aslo installed busy box.
But in the second thread it is written that to enter twrp recovery reboot the phone and press volume up button and blue lead will appear, leadind to twrp recovery screen. And for cwm hold volume button down and the red led will appear.
But the problem is when i reboot and hold volume button up the blue led flashes only for like 2 seconds and sony boot screen following xperia logo appears and my phone carries only restart command rather than directing to twrp recovery mode.
For cwm, when i hold volume button down, nothing happens and as usual my phone only gets restart.
How can i flash this cyanogen mod 11 kitkat if i cant flash it when twrp or cwm commands never appears during reboot?
N.B. - I am not any kind of developer. I just google and implement the ideas and shown path.
Thanks.

Hi,
Asking in the recovery link you posted is what you should do.
We're just here to help members navigate the site, not for support.
Thank you for understanding!

I don't know what to do now. Any help from anyone assisting to flash this kitkat would've been nice. And I'm trying twrp as well as cwm recovery but got no clues at all. seems like I can't flash it in my ion.

As I suggested, ask in the recovery thread. I'm sure you'll find help.

If those threads aren't helpful, then asking the experts who own your device for help here would be best,
Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion > Xperia S, Acro S, Ion Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD][XPERIA S, ACRO S & ION]Ask any question. NOOB friendly

And the worst part is, volume up button for twrp and down button for cwm never directs me to any mode screen.

My friend... Ask where I pointed you. ?

[Completed] Xperia Sola Major Issue (rooting)

Hello to all,
I am unexperienced so, please, if you have any ideas about how to do that work, that would be great. Thanking you in advance.
I have just tried to root my Sola, after countless tries. I failed all the way. However, I believe this time was for good.
I will post the threads I used and I will also post the steps followed:
1) I had done bootloader unlock through the official page of Sony with the IMEA, etc.
2) I opened today the flashtool and tried to do the flashing of kernel.
3) I downloaded a file named as: Sola-DooMLoRD-AdvStkKernel-v01-test1.elf.
4) I used flashtool and did it on fastboot mode.
5) I selected the above mentioned kernel for flashing and then pressed to reboot.
That was it. I tried to open the phone and the only thing that I get is the name "SONY".
The screen screens the LOGO and then closes. And again and again.
URLs Followed:
rootmyandroid.org/root-xperia-sola.html
theunlockr.com/2013/09/10/how-to-root-the-sony-xperia-sola-running-6-1-1-b-1-54-firmware/ (unsuccessfully because I couldn't flash with flashmode.. the "return" and "plug-in" steps were never successful).
android.gs/how-to-root-sony-xperia-sola/ (THis was followed at most).
If you could help, that would be much appreciated.
Hi there,
If you have a look at the Sola rooting section here: Getting Started:Rooting,Bootloader Unlocking,Recovery,Custom ROM installation & more > Post #2
Then if you get stuck further ask in that thread for help.

Thank you for the answer.
I will check it out immediately.
Regarding my issue, is that normal that my phone does not open ans just lights up the "sony" logo?
Thanks again.

It's not normal in the sense that it's not turning on. But what has happened is something went wrong in the proccess and your kernel isn't booting. But because you can reach the Sony logo you will be able to recover your phone.
Try the steps in the rooting thread I linked and you can also ask here for further help on your issue: Xperia P, U, Sola, Go Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

[Completed] [Q] Sony Xperia Z1 bricked

My device is C6903 (14.4.a.0.108) bought from the Philippines. It's already rooted and has an unlocked bootloader.
The problem is when I installed this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699803 it now wouldn't boot it just shows the Sony logo and after 2 minutes or so it just blacked out. but when i tap the screen on a dark room the screen shows the black background without the sony logo and after a moment it darkened again like its in lock screen (Its really hard to describe).
I flashed it using fastboot. with this command
/ fastboot flash boot boot.img / and after I input this command
/ fastboot reboot /.
Its still charging and it shows the battery icon when charging on an off state. It can still be recognized by fastboot when i connected it to the computer.
Ive already hard reset it using the button on the sim card slot and the other method the power button and the volume up. It didn't really helped. help me guys Im new in this flashing methods. What should I do?
Hi,
Did you read the requirements at the beginning of post number 1? Did you meet those requirements? The best place to ask about this is in the kernel thread you linked in your post. If that doesn't help you, you can ask for help here....
> Sony Xperia Z1 > Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Any future questions can be asked in the above section also.
Good luck!

thanks for replying. I have managed to get out of the situation but now I'm facing another one. My phone is now on boot loop. I tried using flashtool but it wouldn't work. While on flashboot doing its job, my phone would just boot up and go again on a boot loop. flashtool log would just say device disconnected.
I think I found a way to do another trick using fastboot but I don't have a custom recovery installed. Is there any way that I can install CWM or any tools like it using only fastboot? I've been looking for it the whole time but I can't find one. I'm new to this thing by the way. Thanks again!
I've found one. http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Template:Recovery_install_fastboot
Can i flash this Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.7.154-BETA.flashable.zip (if its possible ) instead of the .img that was mentioned on the site. I can't find a recovery.img for my device.
Again, please ask in your device section linked above.
Thanks!
Thank you. Thread closed.

[Completed] Unable to enter recovery mode in Xperia Z2- D6503

plz help!! I'm trying to enter recovery mode but it doesn't go in that mode, it simply restarts.
I have tried:
1) doing manually (pressing power button than volume up or down button several times.
2) Trying to Enter Recovery Mode with ADB
3) Trying to Enter Recovery Mode with QuickBoot App
I have rooted my device(Xperia Z2 - D6503). I actually downgraded from 23.0.1.A.0.167 to 17.1.A.2.55(Australia - Vodafone - 1282-1393) using flash and then rooted.
I also unlocked its bootloader.
Is it normal NOT GETTING SYSTEM UPDATES??
Is there any way to go back to its original sony default ROM(i.e. back to 23.0.1.A.0.167 - NOT CUSTOM ROM)

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Your best bet right now is probably returning it to stock and starting everything over again. See this,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666410. Also see this where you can get all your questions answered,http://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-x If you have further questions you can ask in that forum as they are the experts on your device.
