Bought Xperia Z1 and it automatically went ot the kit kat upgrade sincethen there is no sound on call only on loud speaker and from head phones. I want ot go back to 4.3 or root the phone and install an older version of android help me please

I can't find a thread on the same issue. Are you sure it worked before the update? It could be hardware related... And if you just bought it... I'd exchange it.

And in my opinion... Trying to Root or do anything to it will likely void your warranty... And if this is a defective unit, you definitely don't want to do that.
If you bought it used, I'd ask for my money back possibly too. ?

HI All,
Recently got a replacement for my xperia Z, a Z1 ! I had KitKat on it which came with an annoying SD card problem (I guess you all know about this issue....) I flashed to 14.2.A.1.136 Jelly Bean and Rooted with TowelRoot. All good except that my SuperSU will not update its binaries....Access to SD read/write is all OK.
I would also like to be able to use a custom ROM, iHacker's look interesting and very useful but the process seems very long winded and I don't want to try it without SuperSU working properly.
I am not bothered with KITKAT so happy to stay with Jelly Bean if necessary.
Although I am able to Flash an FTF I am still a bit green with regard to android workings so simple directions would be muchly appreciated.
I hope anyone out there can help me
PS I found StorageCow but didnt know if any of the ftf files would help my problem, guess I need the last JB firmware....

Me advice would be to read as much as you can and get a handle on everything, then follow the instructions to the letter. Also, here's a great guide for doing most things.... And you can ask questions here,

my xperia neo L i stuck on boot loop......rooted my phone through kingo root, all was ok ........
i didn't unlock boot loader, using stock rom 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich.
I tried sony pc companion to repair the phone but it says there are no updates for my device(which is really weird coz it worked for me last time i had a problem like the same)
i'm a newbie i don't know what to do in order to get my phone back to how it was.
this all happen after i used android tweaker... i think maybe my kernal is damaged. but i dont think i can flash a kernal since my phone's boot loader is locked.my phone restarts at the sony logo.
please anyone
help me.

I want to do this due a mistake I made, but... I don't know any directions. I'm SO AFRAID of doing that and brick my phone once and for all. Also I'm scared of using ODIN, cuz it's so hard to work with... Is there an easy way or will I have to do it the hard way?
And please assure me I'm not doing the wrong thing and that IT IS SAFE to do so. I'll regret if I totally brick it if there's no way back...

First, Odin is for Samsung only. So won't work for a Sony. And if it tried to work, it would likely destroy your device.
Here is a tutorial on flashing firmware for your device... As well as links to firmware. You can ask for further help about this in the thread.... But please read it carefully first, then again.... And once more if needed, then ask for help if you're stuck. ?

I'm very new to Android (been using iPhone since its release) but i got a Sony Xperia E4g as a gift from my carrier and I would like to update it to Lollipop or root it and get something like MIUI on it. This that possible?
I would like to get rid of all the Xperia software and just get a clean Android install like Nexus phones have.

Hi everyone.
I send my xperia z3 to repair the speacker in a site becouse sony don't repair rooted phone.
The speaker work but there is a electronic noise when i play a song.

Now i have a 4.4 sony xperia z3 but PC COMPANION don't update modified firmware, than what should i do?
I want to update to lollipop and root the phone , hoping that the speaker will magically work fine.
