Hello!
Can somebody post here the Stock CalendarProvider (apk+odex) and GoogleCalendar (apk+odex)? For Stock Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Because I messed up the whole calendar when I was trying to install Android 5.0 Calendar. Now it opens, but when trying to add a event it force closes.
Thanks!

I've got the Google Calendar for Lollipop, I got rid of my KitKat calendar; here's a Mega link, let me know if it doesn't work and I can get the actual .apk to you somehow. No fc's for me when I try and add an event:

Still, same problem. But anyways, thanks for trying. But does anyone know how to kind of ''reset'' Google Apps? So everything would be in the original state. I tried flashing stock gapps, but the problem stays.
Now, I tried reflasing the whole factory image with no wipe, but the calendar still force closes.
Thanks.
EDIT: - Solved. Mod please lock/delete.

Hello guys, I have just flashed a new ROM (UCALC4 sky ICS - seanscreamz). I am getting an error with gmail because when the ROM flashes, he has it inverted colorwise, and gives us the revert. I am not familiar with the android signing process, but I can no longer update gmail via the google play store for this reason. gmail does not show up in the installed applications list, only in the running processes and I have no way to delete it. I was wondering if anyone knew where it is located so that I can delete it and grab the fresh one from the play store.

i think that you have to have 4.2+ android in order to work :/ i tried my self on viperS 3.1.3 but fc even i did this step
In order for Google Now/Google Seach to work properly you MUST copy libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so to /system/lib, replacing the original when asked.
But nothing :/
worked for me

Hi there. In case that you run into this problem of having Google Search but no Google Now here is how I fix it.
This is a problem that I have being having for quite sometimes and is back in N5. Just a little background, I have a GS4 and my Google now is working there perfectly. But only after some tweaking. When ever I installed a new rom, if I forgot to setup Google Now (running for the first time) right after installation, and the application gets an update I loose the Google now option in search setting and Google Search (aparently after version 2.6 and up), in Google Setting application. And no Google Now cards or anything just a plain search bar with the option of voice search with the microphone. Normally I will get it to work by clearing data on the Google Search application and uninstalling updates. After that, running Google Search will bring the Google Now Setup and I will finish it. After Google Now setup I can update Google Search and have Google Now working perfectly.
In my N5 since Google Search is part of the system and launcher clearing Data on the application don't help also there is no uninstall updates option. Since I rooted my N5 here is the way I fix it. Installed a additional Launcher because the N5 launcher does not work at all without Google Search application. Any launcher you want will do, if you don't do this you may be left in the dark with no home screen or application drawer so Don't Skip This Step. Get your hand in an old Google Search ApK (Velvet.Apk) preferably 2.6 version, also get your hand in the New Velvet Apk version 3.1.8. With Titanium backup uninstall Google Search 3.* that comes in your N5. Install the old version of Velvet Apk and run it. Google Now setup process should come up. finish it. You will probably get a Stop Working Application error. Now install the Velvet.apk 3.1.8 (latest). You may get 1 or 2 more Stop Working Application error from the Google Search application but Google Now should show up and running in your launcher and through the other ways to access it. Reinstall the Home.apk file
Hope this help anyone that has this problems as I use to do.

is there any way to uninstall without using titanium backup? it wont run if you use ART instead of Dalvik
Try removing or maybe better renaming (changing the .apk extension part) the Velvet Apk from the System folder using any root capable filemanager. It may works.

Actually mine was giving me a lot of problems, Google Search was foreclosing and I was not getting results. I did almost the same procedure except that I updated from the 2.6 version to the 2.8 version through Play Store. That way Google Now Works and Google Search. If I upgrade to the 3.0 version pf Google Search it star to foreclose again. If I stay in the 2.8 version everything works except the Launcher. So if the only thing that you are missing is the Ok Google you are in better shape than me. I am using Nova launcher and kept the 2.8 version. I will still experiment with few Ideas to see if I get it to work perfectly.

I found an interesting situation where after installing Beanstalk 4.4.200 and pa-gapps-mini, my android browser bookmark sync was gone. All I could see is "Local" in the browser not the additional bookmarks from my Chrome account. Just to make sure I went to Settings > Accounts > Google > [email protected], the Browser option is not there! So, I updated to the newest version of Beanstalk (4.4.225) and grabbed the gapps posted by the OP (gapps-kk-20131208.zip). Still, no solution. I tried searching everywhere and found no solution.
Then, I found that there is an APK that takes care of this called ChromeBookmarksSyncAdaptor.apk
I stumbled upon it by digging into the zip file for pa-gapps-full. It should be under the gapps location: system > app > ChromeBookmarksSyncAdaptor.apk
I pulled it out of the pa-gapps-full package, put it on my Infuse SDCard (thank you Dropbox!), and installed it by using Root Browser to copy the apk file into /system/app
After a reboot, the option to Sync in the Android accounts area is there. I just had to check it. Now I can see Chrome bookmarks in my Android browser.
PA-gapps thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Thought I'd share incase anyone else ran into this problem.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?
Thank you!

If you are not rooted, sounds like you are still on the stock ROM. If that's the case, all the appropriate APK's will still be there, and the problem is related to a bad sync. Remove your google account, and re-add. That should fix it.
Btw, you don't need root to install non-market APK's, just get an APK installer from Google Play and adjust your settings to allow non-market apps.
Finally, does Chrome even work with Gingerbread? I thought it was only ICS and up?

Yes, i have a stock Android 4.4.2 on Note 2. Ok. I will try to remove it and add it again.
Amm, and this problem is with the stock android browser not the chrome.

Oh okay, makes sense.
Hmmm... I didn't realize that bookmarks synced with the stock browser...
I did't work -.-
Yes, i had synced bookmarks in stock browser, and all of a sudden is gone. It sucks.
Hey guys,
If this is a duplicate please let me know, but I personally didn't find any information here before I tried a few methods to make these work.
Make Gmail Work
Convert the following apps to system apps:
Gmail
Google Play Services
Google Services Framework
Make Google Contacts Work
Disable Amazon's default contact app.
Install Google Contacts and convert it to system apps.
Download Google Contacts Sync (remember to download version 5.x for api level 22), install, and make it system.
Wipe app cache / data if needed.
Both apps mostly works, Gmail still crashes occasionally, but WAY better than before and is now usable. Edit: Gmail failed after rebooting and did not work again after that short, sweet, few minutes of working... But Contacts work pretty well.
Going through logs, looks like it's Amazon's download manager causing the crash. If anyone knows where to find a replaceable download manager let me know! Google's only supports 7.1 and up.
Good catch! Have you tried apkmirror? What's the namw of the Google's downloadmanager? I have older lg tablet(android 5.1.1) , maybe that one will work.
Nevemind, I've found it and extracted. Let me just find some file host.

Your Google Downloader doesn't work. Couldn't get the apk to install, even if I put it in the system folder manually.
Anyway, in the process I accidentally deleted the .odex file for the original download manager. If you or someone else could provide me theirs so I can fix this, I would really appreciate it. Can't download anything on the play store or amazon app store now.

Have you tried oldies but goodies to get GAPPS going?

I've been running contacts for a few days now, converting to system and wiping cache isn't necessary, in my experience. I can't get gmail working stable for the life of me though. I read some discussions that said the reason why it fails is because it has a permission to auto download without a prompt (for attachments) and that Fire OS has a problem with that. I've tried running older versions of gmail, and I've rebuilt gmail with the download activity removed, tried converting gmail to system and to priv-app. No luck.
I got gmail working. It's a user app and I used appsettings module v1.15 for xposed to set orientation to force autorotate. I don't know why it worked, but it's survived many reboots now. I have all the google services installed and the Amazon email app is installed but I'm deep hibernation via rom toolbox. Hope this helps

Can you try sending yourself an email with an image and then try to open that image in gmail?
Gmail works fine for me on the Fire 10 2017 apart from crashing when opening images.

I tried to show the picture and it didn't crash. I tried the force autorotate method but failed for a few times. Then I chose not to show the picture automatically (&force autorotate) and it worked, at least for now.

Here's my experience: an embedded image is fine, an image as an attachment will crash it. i messed with this for a while, couldn't get it to work, and went back to 9folders email. It makes sense, since from what I read, the reason it crashes is because it doesn't get permissions to download attachments (because of a signature problem between gmail and download manager). I think someone already tried to replace the download manager with a google signed one and the result was a bootloop. I wonder if there is any way to give gmail root rights, so that it gets all of the permissions. Or to sign gmail with the same signature as our download manager.
