Question about OTA - Verizon HTC One (M8)

On 4.4.2 and hit the download button for the ota. File downloaded but it didn't run because I hit home while in another app(as the screen went back to home I saw what looked like an ota window disappear). Trying to check for the update again and nothing happens. Checked /cache and don't see it there either. Do I just need to wait longer for it to be available again? Waited about an hour so far.
Already s-off so will be flashing twrp after. Interesting is that it only said 4.4.3 was available when I checked before. Guess I would have to upgrade twice this way to get to 4.4.4.

Try a reboot. If not don't worry it will eventually pop back up.

Just go to sdcard and delete update.zip and then reboot and update ....
Thank if worked. . . at least try it ... ... Worked for my tab

Thanks. Not update.zip on sd. Tried a couple of reboots, will just wait it out I guess.

It's in cache. You either need to wipe cache or go to /cache/FUMO and delete OTApkg.zip.

Thanks. Had checked /cache but didn't see it there. Just gave it another try after getting home from work and it took. Got the notification for the 4.4.4 update after reboot.

You have to have / mounted as read/write in root explorer mode to see it. After update it's gone.

I can't find it. Not rooted.

[Q] Someone Help

When trying to upgrade to the sprint stock system update 2.31.651 my phone just goes off comes on and just sits the four hours on the htc white screen...What should I do?
1. Ask Sprint, because this is something to do with the "official" software release
2. Learn to read
3. Remember - this is not your helpdesk
4. Most important - Read (again) and post in the right forum

Try To Turn Off Your Phone, Pull The Battery Out, Put It Back In...
Then.... Power Your Phone
Back On....
"Holding The Volume-Down-Button"
Once On....
You Should See The "Hboot-Menu" Where You "SHOULD"?? Be Able To Use the "Volume-Up-Button"
To Select The "Fastboot-Menu"
Where You Can "TRY" To Perform A "Hard-Reset/Factory-Reset" By Pressing The "Menu-Button"!!
*NOTE*
Everything Will Be Erased,
Except For What On The SDCard!!
Hopefully This'll Work??
Good-Luck!!

Did you have your phone rooted?
If all else fails you're most likely going to have to run the ruu which will restore your phone to factory.

I don't see any other solution. I believe you are going to need to run the latest ruu.
This is the latest build, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=800586

Someone update via OTA from the # 1 ICS leak

I popped the notification, update and then between here and now I find that there are chances of my phone is brick. Who here have been updated and have been victorious in that?
Currently the download is in progress, do not know how to stop it.
If you take the ota update from leak 1 it just puts you on official ICS. If you deleted bloat or have a custom rom or anything, it'll just say update failed and I guess you'll have to fxz back.

He says "install now or install later" but then gave me space appears in 30 in 30 minutes.
Download the FXZ but I'm afraid the brick.

[Accidental] OTA update and re-root with no factory reset. {i497} 10.1

Tried to OTA and keep root and not factory reset(had to re-root and install recovery but no factory reset!) and went through a interesting process and thought maybe someone could improve on it to save time and keep apps and data.. Ok so I decided to update my tab via ota and try and save root and recovery(currently using CWM). I got voodoo ota rootkeeper and I backed up superSU, then did temp un-root, backed up apps and data through titanium backup, well sorry backed up then temp un rooted with voodoo, did all my other backing up and started download of 4.1.2 update, tablet did normal download and shut off and went to Android screen, loaded some then went to CWM automatically and asked i wanted to flash un-trusted zip, to say the least I was nervous but ok'd it and it loaded and then poped up again in CWM after it finished flashing zip and said ROM may flash stock recovery on boot but this can be undone! ! I was reluctant once again but I ok'd it and WALLA it rebooted normally with new 4.1.2 except it said update failed or interrupted I closed that screen opened voodoo rootkeeper restored rood and again WALLA root. I haven't tried to reboot to recovery yet but root seems fine and tablet is same as before update, exact same as if nothing ever happened. Need input because I'm not a developer just a flashaholic!

Ok flashed TWRP recovery and superSU and busybox from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43045886 using Odin 1.85 unchecking F.Reset Time. Works fine and and never had to factory reset during update process. All of this was done by just trying I guess, don't know if or how close I was to bricking so any info would be great. Just thought this whole process was interesting. Thanks goes to all the hardworking developers.

Yes. I already reported this thread so a mod can remove it.
Also instead of making double triple quadruple posts just use the edit button!
I already posted a howto how to upgrade and root the i495 earlyer this week
Its way less complicated then this whole story
But its in the galaxy tab 2 forums where it belongs

Less complicated yes but I didn't have to factory reset either, and the OTA went through without having to un-root, Odin and Kies factory reset and sometimes OTA will not go through when rooted so I figured it was worth a look! Sorry for wrong forum! And thanks focussoft for instructions and links!

Messed up pretty bad.

I unlocked and rooted my Nexus the day I got it, but today I decided to finally flash a ROM. I installed CWM through the Rom Manager app, backed up my EFS, and then hit Factory Reset. It started, but then froze. After waiting a while, I decided to force shut it down, which wasn't such a great idea. I can turn my phone on, but the entire SD Card directory seems to be gone, and I have no signal, even after restoring my EFS backup with the zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2510966. CWM can't access any backups, or anything on the SD Card. What are my options? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You probably just deleted your SD card partition. I'm not sure its gone forever but you can try flashing a factory image

[Q] Can't access /system from recovery !

Hi guys.
I have some problems with my recovery, here is my story.
I was running last TWRP, and while doing an update of my favorite ROM, the installation was stuck at fomatting system... I tried to reboot several times and nothing to do it couldn't work.
So I installed (in a dirty way) CWM to try it. Formatting seemed to work and it's still working (or at least it's written that the operation is done) BUT when I want to update my ROM and when the script needs at the beginning to format system, it's stuck for several minutes. Sometimes it works only after 3 or 4 times (or maybe it's because I don't wait enough) and so then everything works out but I've got a message like "the error was system", can't remember sorry, if you need what is exactly written I'll tell you.
So why should I do ?
Thanks.
Hope you understood me, my english kinda sucks..
I think your best bet at this point would be flashing the factory images and starting fresh. I don't use twrp myself, but for what I've read here, it's best to let it finish what it's doing and not reboot.

Well when it's endless I can't let him finish I guess...
I don't know why system image would change anything because it has nothing to do with recovery. Maybe you meant stock recovery and then put back CWM ?
Up please I need an answer

Same thing happened to me. In fact posted a similar post earlier. I used the nexus recovery tool once to get back to stock and that worked but erased everything on my phone.
Did it one other time successfully flashed one rom and then some thing happened but this time I had a backup in twrp and was able to restore that.
The only thing now is my battery won't charge past 77%.

Yeah that is a great how to but I've already rooted and unlocked phone. I understand how to flash roms, I have at least 10 android devices in my home that I flash roms to.
I know the process, it is the same on most devices. The problem with this one is when you go to flash a new rom it says it can't mount system and gets stuck in endless install.

I had the same issue flashing elemental kernel. After the reboot I couldn't access my SD and my baseband weren't recognised. So I reloaded a nandroid backup but the issue was still present. I have never encountered a so strange problem. Resolved reverting to stock and reflashing elementalx.

Glad to see yours is working. I was able to flash the stock 4.4.1 but it was still feeling a little wonky. Battery got stuck again this time at 35% so I used nexus tool to return to stock completely but still same issue with battery. I think I'm going to lock it and exchange it at the T mobile store.
