I am facing a nightmare with promotional Flash SMS, my carrier allows them to pass in, without my consent, and they claim it is all legal! I am trying to get someone to develop the right app, and if not, show me directions of where to start, the app is simple, it needs to scan the textual content of the incoming FLASH SMS (USSD code), and if a certain text appears (customizable), it should press the "cancel" button
Those Flash SMS are different from "balanace USSD" in the fact that they don't just have an "OK" button, but two buttons: "Send" and "Cancel"
And if -God forbid- you mistakingly click Send, you have to go through a long process to deactivate the flush of spam messages you get. You have no idea how "surprising" those messages can be! It's a noble request, please help! :'(

The problem with most current task managers/switchers is that they
dont let you switch between programs when your in one of them.
Im using an Elf with HTC task manager V2, and to change to an open
program, I have to go: Start > Today > X button thing > program.
I very much like the idea of the HTC TS, but it could be more efficient.
I dont know about anyone else, but i dont often use the third button
along the top of the HTC TS. (theres "stop all" "settings" and "Memory")
My idea would be to make the "drop down" button stay in the top right
corner permanently, and when you click it, it gives you the list of open
programs like usual, but instead of the three current buttons, have:
"Stop this one" "stop All" and "Minimize."
The settings button could be moved to where all the rest of the devices
settings are.
This for me woule be the ultimate task manager, but sadly I am no
where near a good enough programmer yet to be able to pull this off,
so im putting the idea out there for anyone who might be able to manage it.

That was really a request in form of an idea ..... sneaky, sneaky!
Chances are that this thread will have to be moved to the Q&A section. Thanks for the "idea" though
You know, TaskFacade gets the job done pretty well also
you should try wktask... its the best because it does exactly what youre asking for... all the open tasks are tabbed at the top like your average windows start bar... you can hold down any tab for a drop down box full of options... terminate, minimize with x button option, hide from task bar (i use with phone, comm manager, etc), etc... ... i use that and morttasks app from mortbuttons with my slide up gesture... it pops up like the cube used to. its very useful when using apps that dont have a task bar like opera mini, spb mobile shell, etc... but hope this helps...

You're making an app that you want to include an email button in? Though I don't know the exact process, nor exactly where to send you for instructions, you can call the email function in the app you make. I'd suggest looking in the XDA University and if you can't find an answer there maybe try asking a developer in the general android hacking and development forums.

Hi - I don't know in which thread I should post this question:
I have a group of team members to whom we will be sending SMS notifications when there is an available consult for them to claim. Inside this SMS will be a consultation ID that must be entered into our automated call service for them to claim the consultation and move forward.
The initial plan was for the SMS to include the phone number as a link, with a pause extension and the consultation ID so that the Member would only have to tap the link to respond.
"There is a new consultation available - to accept, tap the link below
555-555-5555,,,12345#"
On iOS devices, this is working perfectly well, but it appears that Android is unable to recognize the comma characters as a part of the number, as only the 10 digit phone number is a part of the link.
Is there any way around this, or is this just a lacking feature that Android lacks?

After the latest update, it seems like "Touch to save" option has disappeared in Google keyboard. This really makes the process of saving new words to the dictionary painful. We need to select the word click on Add to dictionary and then Ok to save any new word which is a tiresome process.
If anyone had found an easier way to save new words to the Google keyboard dictionary easily, please post that solution here. By the way, double clicking the word also doesn't work. My device is moto g and I believe this is a common issue for any device.
Any help please?

Hey guys,
I can copy text in the Memo app only. When I select text on a web page or in an e-mail, I only get the gray toolbar at the top allowing me to select all, share, and search in google for whatever I selected. There is no pop up with the normal options of (select all, cut, copy, paste etc)
Please tell me how to fix this is a basic function every other phone has and I'm considering doing away with android altogether because of it.
Thanks,
Capobman
