Status 7 means that you need a newer recovery. I just used CWM 6.0.4.7 yesterday to put CM11 on my parents tab2.
Hope this helps

Also try installing zip from " internal " storage.
Pp.

Hi, from CWM download page, the latest version is 6.0.2.7 for the Tab2 10.1 wifi (P5110).
With it installed following Cyanogenmod tutorial, I also have the status 7 error when trying to install both Cyanogenmod 11 latest nightly build, or SlimKat 8 stable.
Device is not rooted, but tried to install ZIP files from internal sd.
Checksums are fine.
I'm interested in the answer if you don't mind me to squat your post?
PS: I'm used to use CWM on my gt-i9100 and gt-i9305 with no problem.

Finally solved by updating CWM to unnoficial 6.0.5.0 found on the post here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548476
Official 6.0.2.7 can't install kitkat roms and CWM team don't update it anymore for the Galaxy tab 2.

If you want a more user friendly touch interface, try TWRP from Android Andi's recovery thread.

[Q] E:signature verification failed?

Hello and thank you ahead of time,
I have been trying to load my first ROM onto my Nexus S after finding the ICS "update" that Google gave me was a load of troublesome crap.
Through this forum I successfully rooted my phone and installed Super User app. However after wiping date/factory reset and wiping the cache, I tried to install Cyanogen and get the following lines:
-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Your guidance is greatly appreciated!
The recovery on your phone, does it say Clockworkmod recovery at the top? It sounds like you may still be using the stock recovery.
Yes it says Android system recovery <3e> at the top.
I installed Clockwork Mod recovery before I rooted my phone. I guess with the wiping of my device it is gone.

That does happen. You'll need to install clockworkmod again as the stock recovery cannot flash unofficial roms.
Does anyone have a link to Clockwork mod that I can download right to my phone? I'm having issues in general with my computer's internet and in China I apparently can't find or download directly through the marketplace.
i know the link but i cannot leave reply

pardon my ignorance.
will this apply for SGT P1000 also? if so, how to use this "img" file?
i had been running back and forth with this rom flashing for a week now. i just can't get through the signature verification failed part.
help will be highly appreciated.
i already installed clock work mode, but it's still show recovery e3, what should i do?
After you instal the cwm flash the recovery from cwm and reboot into recovery, this is a cwm option. From the recovery flash your favourite rom.

[Q] Can't flash AKOP 4.4.2 P51##

[ROM][20/01][4.4.2][P51XX]AOKP (Would post there BUT 10 post limit).
I am getting error 7.... (I know it's common but I have tried all the fixes I know that usually work.)
Now I can usually fix this one way or another. BUT at a loss ATM.
- CWM v6.0.2.7
- Tried CWM and TWRP
- Removed CWM Touch now on Standard one.
- Tried rom in root of Ext-SDcard
- Tried rom in root of SDcard
- Tried modifying the updater-script removing assert section
- Tried all 3 builds (27, 20, 14) of P5110 (Yes mine is a Tab 2 10.1 WiFi
Now I am out of ideas.
Any help please.
Been flashing ROMS for well over a year now on Asus Samsung s3 / Tab 2 can usually find an answer. This time not.
Anyone flashed this? What CWM did they use?
I can flash aokp_p5110_jb_milestone fine.
Help!
Hold up... Just had a brain fart. Back ASAP...
Update your recovery. Status 7 error is out of date recovery. You need at least CWM 6.0.4.5

There are over 100 posts about "Status 7 error" and how to solve it ..... idk why not using the search function .... and idk why nobody posts the whole error message the important part is not "Status 7 error" - but everything else from the error message

Of course I searched, I was using ROM Manager to update..
Assume that it was at the current level.
Obviously not
Been here 2 years. Look how many question I posted.. Can't POST in developer section cause of the 10 limit. cause I use search and rarely ask.. Hahaha!!
On the CWM site for the P5110 it lists "Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (GT-P5110) - 6.0.2.7" as the current version which was why I assumed I was upto date.
Thanks anyway
Hoping this is going to be OK [RECOVERY][GT-P51XX] Unofficial ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.5

ROM Manager is not up-to-date
CWM 6.0.4.5 will be ok.
You can also find some recoverys (CWM incl. swipe-gesture, Advanced CWM incl. Swipe-gesture or latest TWRP) from me here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581782
Or install latest PhilZ Touch.

[Q] T-mobile LG G2 TWRP won't install CM11 ROM

Hi Guys,
Urgent issue. I rooted the device using Kingo, installed TWRP and then transferred the zip for the CM11 nightly and the gapps. I confirmed the nightly was for the D801 model which is T-mobile and the version of the G2 I have. Like a fool I forgot to backup my previous rom and TWRP says:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/cm-11-20140208-NIGHTLY-d801.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/cm-11-20140208-NIGHTLY-d801.zip'
Updating partition details
And there's a red ominous 'Failed' at the bottom of the prompt. Please help, I have no idea what to do, I'm a noob at this. Help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Can you restore the phone and boot back up? If so, replace TWRP with Philz Touch CWM. I had trouble flashing kit kat rom with TWRP too. But Philz Touch recovery seems to works just fine and it also has the option with restore a backup from TWRP too.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have resolved all issues. Turns out you need TWRP 2.6.3.5 to flash any CM11 nightlies. Also was using Windows 8.1 so the adb drivers were not straightforward to install to use adb push. I pushed and installed TWRP 2.6.3.5 and then flashed CM11 and she works like a dream!

To flash that KitKat, you had to place a newer CWM or TWRP recovery version.
To flash cm-7.2, you need to go back to the older recovery!
For KitKat ROMs a recovery equivalent to 6.0.4.5 or newer is required to flash. The newer recoveries are capable of flashing CM 10.2 to CM11. All older Android versions will require the use of an older recovery, pre 6.0.4.5, such as CWM 5.0.2.7 Touch by vivekkalady.

Problems flashing KatKiss 5.1_030c ROM

I am running an Asus TF101 B90 tablet. I have just rooted and installed KatKiss 4.4.4_036. I am using ClockworkMod v 3.2.0.1 roach2010-tf101-r1 for recovery. This appears to work fine. I have tried the defined step,s both before and after flashing the 4.4.4 ROM, to flash the 5.1 ROM without success. I have tried this with both a full wipe and without. The results are always the same. After it starts the install the system gives me the following error messages:
Set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/KatKiss-5.1_030.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
I have the same issue with KatKiss-5.1_030c.zip. Yesterday was the first time I rooted an android device. Any recommendations on what and how I need to change things so I can move to Lollipop? Thanks.

Tim,
First of all thanks so much for your work keeping the ASUS TF101 alive and working! It means a great deal. I did flash the TWRP 2.8.1 recovery system. That worked fine. I was then able to flash the KatKiss-5.1_030c ROM. I am now running Lollipop 5.1.1! Two questions. I ran Root Checker Basic. It can no longer validate that I am rooted, though it could when I ran 4.4.4. Is this to be expected or is there something I need to fix? Secondly, Lollipop seems a bit slower than 4.4.4. Is this to be expected or is there something I need to change to up performance? Thanks.
John
