[Q] Asus tablet doesn't connect to audio dock - General Questions and Answers

Hi all,
Recently I got myself the new Asus MemoPad 7 (ME572C), with the intention of using it as my car media system.
I've bought a microusb to usb & aux cable (sorry, cannot post link to cable) so I can hook up my tablet to my car's stereo while charging it.
The charging is fine but there is no audio coming out of the stereo. The tablet just uses the internal speakers. I've also tried connecting the tablet to an audio/speaker docking station of philips with the same results: charging is fine but no audio from the dock, just the internal speakers.
I've read I should change some accessory options in the settings menu. But there is no such option in my settings. I've checked all options but none mention anything about docking audio.
Anyone has a clue on if and how I can make my tablet connect to my docking station and make my cable work?

Don't understand what kind of cable you are trying to use, could you post a link or picture? The tablet may not support charging and audio out through the same port. Have you tried charging through the usb port on your tablet and connect an AUX cable to the headphone jack on your tablet?

See attachment.
Yes I've tried charging through usb with the 3way cable and connect another aux cable on the headphone jack. This makes it charge and play audio through my extra added aux cable, but is not what I'm looking for. My idea was to use 1 cable for both charging and playing music in my car who doesn't have an usb in the radio, for better looking cable management.
Would this support be hardware of software related? In other words: is there a way I can add this support on my tablet?

MicroUSB to audio

Hey
I'm about to build an diy audio dock for my xoom and i need some help regarding audio from usb port.
Do you know whether an adapter like this will work, or maybe an other solution for my problem?
Thx in advance
I have an older Motorola version of that adapter from a previous phone and I tried it, it did not work.
Now it is a different adapter so who knows. I know the Xoom does port audio out the USB connector when plugged into the docking stations so it may just be that this adapter I have does not make the proper connections.

Dock with Aux out?

As the title says, is there a dock available for our phone that has aux out (read: a headphone jack so I can connect the dock to my sound system with an aux cable)? I've tried the ATT website, Ebay and googling. If not, is there a way to convert from micro USB to aux out? Thanks!!
Edit: I just remembered our phone has MHL, would this adapter work by connecting it to the dock and then to my sound system with an HDMI?

[Q] Adapter Nightmare

I have a BOSE stereo with a USB port that normal takes input from a 30 pin apple cable (ipod or other piece of proprietary garbage). So, I now need a new generation A2DP bluetooth dongle that will connect to the 30 pin end of said cable, with the USB end plugged into the stereo. This should theoretically allow me to stream A2DP from an android device (non-proprietary wonderfulness).
Any ideas?
:silly:
Probably doesn't help you, but when I was in the same dilemma few years back I bought a Pioneer 7" touchscreen head unit with bluetooth. Absolutely love it, best 1k I've spent in a while!!
You mean, something like this?

Specifically mentions the Bose, so...

How about like this type?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0094G44PS/ref=pd_aw_sims_10?pi=SS115&simLd=1
Sent from my SM-N910G using XDA Free mobile app
Nope
Quote from the Amazon listing for the device:
"2008 Infiniti M35 (does not get power, with power adapter will pair but car will not recognize it as an iPod)"
Strike One...
The I-Link device plugs into a 30-pin cable that terminates in a USB plug and a 3.5 audio plug -- if I had a 3.5 aux jack on the stereo, I wouldn't need anything else...

Audio over USB

Has anyone tried an "Y" style audio and usb c charge cable with G5? Such as this one ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07176LPDT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cxOHzb2QDXMWE )
I like to use my H850 in my car with a win sheild mount hooked to my car stereo through the top 3.5 mm headphone jack. I tough something like the above adapter might be nice and I could charge the phone at the same time.
I'm not sure if the G5 supports analog audio out over USB or if the above adapter has a cheap DAC in it as I could not find documentation on it. I have read elsewhere that the G5 does not work with USB DACs but that it does work with USB C headphones, which may be using a different standard.
Thanks.
Ok, just remembered I have a small USB audio "card" that I tried with my USB OTG cable. As long as I kept the USB setting on "power external device" it worked just like an external audio device. The card has its own volume up, down, and mute button which worked. It treated it as a "USB audio / dock" and responded to changes to that section of viper4android. The only downside is I am sure it draws more power (since the card has an LED light) and with this setup I cannot charge the phone.
I haven't tested the cards mic input or spdif output yet. It is based on the VIA Envy VT1620A chioset.
I use a USB headset through a USB-A to USB-C adapter and it works fine. I don't know about charging at the same time.

[Q] Wireless charging + USB C audio? (without the official USBC audio adapter)

Hello, I've bought this phone 1 week ago and it works really nice.
Some things I really don't like, like the chinese ROM (which I'm waiting for the unlock to switch to global) and the fact that we don't have the 3.5mm headphone jack.
I know that the phone comes with one adapter, but it might get damaged in the long run (the cable is not sturdy enough). I tried an USB 2.0 sound card connected to the phone using a USB C to USB 3.0 OTG adapter, but by doing that, the wireless charging stops.
In fact, anything that I plug in the OTG cable will stop the wireless charging.
So, I want to know if those cheap USB C audio sound cards will behave like the official USB C adapter, or they will stop the wireless charger.
Also, are those USB C passtrhu cables with a sound card working in this phone? Because with that, I could plug a wall charger and also get the headphones.
BTW, I know I could use BT, but thats not my idea.
Any feedback will be appreciated,
Thanks!
I think those audio jack/usb c cables should work.
The phone probably stops the wireless charging because the phone cant supply and get charged at the same time.
By using those cables you use the data pins for audio and the power pins for charging so it should work.
If you want to test this theory out use the original usb dongle and put it on the wireless charger.
The official headphone adapter is analog without a dac so it is not a usb device as such. It must use a dac already in the phone. Wireless charging works fine with it. I can confirm the plugging in a usb card reader stops wireless charging though.
