Poor video quality on Facebook - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I took some videos using my Galaxy Note PRO 12.2. Then, I uploaded the videos to Facebook. How come the video quality is so poor? Is it due to some settings or during the upload, some kind of conversation was done automatically to reduce the video quality?

That could have a million reasons.
What codec did you upload it in? What container did you upload it in? (avi, mkv, etc) What settings did you pick on Youtube? Are you viewing the uploaded file in the preview or as everyone else would? Did you select the HD setting in the play settings?

Also post a link to the video so that we can see it and maybe help you.

MMS playback

I received a MMS, which is a .3gp video file. When I tried to play it, it was playing in full screen mode. The quality is very bad. I'm just wondering if there's another way to play the MMS file in its original frame size. Maybe a different video player?
Thanks.
sorry i post this in the wrong section.

[Q] Problem playing videos from sensation over dnla to hd tv

Hello
I have a strange problem.
Yesterday I recorded a video(in 720P mode) with HTC sensation, came home, and played it normally on my samsung 40LEC650 HD TV over dnla(allshare), wirelles over phone.
Then I recorded some more videos (in all posiblle resolutions and sizes), tried to play them on tv, and error occurs - video codec not supported.
Then I tried again playing the first video, and it plays normally, just every other doesnt.
All videos offcourse in 3gp format.
What happened?? And what can I do to be able to play all videos?

I think I ve found out what the problem is. Transfer your videos on to computer and check properties od each one. Check the bitrate and frames per second. It seems that tv doesn't play files with low bitrate or fps.
I ve recorded some videos, and those with bad sunlight (light from surroundings) have lower bitrate and won't play.
I think that's it.
Check YouTube user jemecb Video1- this one plays
Video2 (bad light) - my tv won't play
If anyone knows how to get past this please help
Greeting
There is a cameramod that, while it isn't widely agreed upon that it improves the quality of the image, does increase the bitrate quite a bit in the videos.
So if it's bitrate you need, then try the modded camera from the sensation development forum.

[Q] Can someone upload a 10s MP4 format movie?

I am really desperate to get sensation next month.. My only concern is its recording in 3GP format which None of the HD media players support..
I want to play an Mp4 format movie on my HD media player. I heard Sensation car record in mp4 now after 2.3.4 update..
Just a short 720p and 1080p (5-10seconds) video is enough to test it..
Thanks
I just recorded a video at 1080p and it only does 3GP - no option to change to MP4
Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078414
Then why is it so that few members Here said they could record videos in Mp4 format?
Do i have to install a custom Rom to get that option?
Possibly, I'm using my own ROM based on the XE RUU and recording at 1080p does it in 3GP. Whether using lower quality uses MP4 I don't know
T-Mobile USA Rom has been changed to MP4 for recording format. I'll see if I can upload a quick video to mediafire.
There you go.

Hey thanks that really helped... Its playable on my HD media player..... Cant play those 3GP video ****ty formats... I dont know why HTC adopted that? they should have realized that we watch HD movies on TV with Mediaplayers. No on PC everytime...
Should I consider that the same codec will be ported to other stock roms aswell?
btw... u had to record a pixeled video of tv.. for first second i got scared that it has such a bad quality recording then my eyes fell on TV frame..
Is that an indoor video taken in low light? I know all mobiles mess up recording indoors... but I expect sensation's Video quality to be equal or maybe better than SGS2 atleast...
I know in stills sgs2 is better but Video looked quite the same in both sets in youtube video samples..

[Q] Xoom record video in MP4 not 3GP?

I hate to post a nooby question but I have searched and searched and cannot understand, or find an answer to my question.
I have a Xoom and several months ago it recorded video in MP4 file formats and stored the files under the "video" file folder in the gallery. Sometime ago it stopped doing this and is now recording video in 3GP and storing the video in the camera folder.
I know that the 3GP is a variant of MP4 but my networked media players do not support the file extension and I do not want to have to edit the files manually.
Why/how did this change and how do I revert to recording video in the MP4 format?
Thanks.
Anyone with some experience can recommend an app?

somewhere in the developer forum there is a modified XML that changes the video recording of the camera to mp4 and boosts its quality. If I recall, though, the variable frame rate that the Xoom records with screws up playback (for me at least) on an Xbox.
Thanks Jeff. I will search it out.

[Q] Poor video quality when uploaded to Facebook

Hi,
I recently bought the OPO and I've noticed that when I upload a video (1080p - H.264 AAC) on Facebook (via wifi), the video quality is poor. Youtube does not have this issue. At first I thought it was still processing but even after 24h, the video quality remain the same. I did upload more than once.
Am I missing something? I've compare with other people who upload their videos and I do see the HD option at the bottom of the video, but not mine.
Thanks.
I believe its a facebook thing. I think any mobile upload is low quality. But if you use a computer to upload the video there should be options..

its FB's video compression. YouTube and Vimeo will compress your HD videos much cleaner for sharing with other viewers.
