I live with a friend and they just showed me that they have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that won't boot, turn on, or charge. When pressing the power button the screen flickers black for a second then turns off. Here's what i've tried.
Power Button + Vol Down
Power Button + Vol Up
Power Button + Finger on Screen
Remove back panel and detached battery for 15-30 mins
Tried all of above on and off charger
Tried letting sit for days charging
Still same results. The tablet never got wet/dropped. Just randomly happened one day they unplugged it from charging in the morning :/
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
EDIT: This is a Verizon LTE Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

We kind of figured as much, I just didn't know if there was some other button combo or magically hidden reset button somewhere inside the tablet :/
I've been reading about problems with the Galaxy Tab 2's and weird battery problems/freezes...

Too late for you, but for others with this issue...
I was having this problem for a few days, removing my micro sd card somehow magically fixed it. Think it was trying to boot from the sd card.
Leaving mine in download mode for till the battery died is what caused my tablet to do nothing. I didn't have all the files ready and my setup was crap.

The battery certainly s$%^s on the tab2 but i had a very similar problem which turned out to be the usb/charger/interface cable. when plugged in it appeared that it was charging but the level never increased. after replacing the cable it began showing an increase. it still takes a painfully long time to charge. hope you get it working, its a pretty good tablet when it works :good:
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Won't boot, charge or turn on
I realize this is a late comment on the above thread but I just experienced the same problem with my Tab 2 10.1. I took a close look at both the usb cable and the female receptacle on the tablet and found some very small pieces of trash on both of them. I took a dental pick and very carefully cleaned the receptacle and then used some "canned air" to blow out the trash and I am now back in business. Maybe it will not work for everyone but did the trick for me. Good luck.

Remove charger and let the phone battery die, might take a long time depending on how much it was charged
Try connecting the white MicroUSB > USB adapter that came with the phone to something power hungry to drain it quicker
Power off you device and then wait 10 seconds. After waiting press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons at the same time
After the phone vibrates, let go of the Power button, while still holding the other two buttons until Android System Recovery screen appears.
Using the "Volume Down" button, highlight "wipe cache partition" and press the Power button to select it.
After the cache partition is cleared, the Galaxy S7 will reboot automatically. This worked for me ans I hope this will help

Run the battery out, once the phone is off it might get out of whatever loop it is stuck in
Then connect charger and power on

Red LED should not show when charger is not connected though
Press power button plus volume up and down hold for 5 to 10 sec it will restart ur phone same thing happen with on s6 but not on s7.
I once had to press vol up and down, power and home (that's all buttons) at the same time for ten seconds for the S7 to reboot as it was stuck and seemingly dead. No led on at the time though. But I have disabled the leds in the settings anyway.
UPDATE!
The battery discharged completely(red led was off),first i tried to put it in download mode and IT WORKED!!! But the phone wouldn't turn on because the battery was 0%.I charged it and now it works fine :| I hope this was something software related and not hardware and i hope this will never happen again.Thx for the help guys!

Great
Sounded like it just got stuck, and because you can't take the battery out you have to wait for discharge :good:

Yup ?
Same problem
I have the same issue... Tried to charge my phone with 15% battery and after a few hours it was 8%. Tried to reboot, charge with the phone turned off but nothing was happening ( not charging, not booting up. tried buttons combinations as well ). The led is not showing up on mine because i disabled it from the settings so i'm not sure if it's charging or not. Took the phone to an authorized service on friday so next week i'll be getting a response from them. By the way, the phone is only one week old :crying:
need your help please.
my j7 prime is totally bricked, i mean, no recovery, no download mode even if press the 3 buttons combo for 5 or 10 minutes.
last thing i do was flash enigma 4.0 and it works but with the system ui fail (flash the screen over and over) so i restart a couple of times and 3rd of 4th time, the phone simply never boot again. screen black, no sound on the pc when i connect, not even a black screen.... totally bricked.
need your help please.
After so many restarts maybe your battery is flat? Maybe let it charge for a 2-3 hours before retrying?
Gonna try.
I already connected the phone to the power but less than 10 minutes because last time battery was on 60%.
Thanks for your answer... is a ray of light.

That doesn't mean it can't reboot.
It may seem like it is dead and has no power if the device has crashed.
POWER + VOL DOWN will hard reset the device.
the same

hi, is there anybody to find the solution? my device is the same. what should i do?
Hello everybody.
I am trying to get to recovery mode but I did not succeed so far.
I looked at a few sites and youtube, too. It was advised to insert the earphones and to press the on/off and vol+ at the same time.I tried to press on the the on/off and vol+ and tried after the on/off and vol- but nothing happened so far.
Does anybody know what is the REAL WORKING WAY to get to the recovery mode?
Thanks a lot,
Arye
Press and hold Vol + and Power button until you see the Samsung logo, then release both.
No need to plug in anything.

Timing is everything... watch a vid on it.
Most likely it's just your bad touch
I've made the same mistake rebooting my 10+, it can be annoying.

Ahh yes... the Steve Jobs "you're holding it wrong" comment comes to mind.
Gotta hold both buttons until the "Samsung", or carrier logo shows up. Then release.
I don't have carrier branding, so I forgot most will see their carrier logo instead of the Samsung logo.
If you're releasing during the device startup logo, that's too soon.

Probably got the China model that why it doesnt work. You need to plug in the usb c cable to computer then do what others mentioned.
