[Q] automatic reboot after lock up ALWAYS

Hello.
I´m new owner of Xoom "refurbished by motorola" bought on Don´tRetail.
With serie rom, updated by OTA to 3.2, all run perfectly. Enough smooth and run, but Quadrant give me a poor results (1700 points).
After unlock, flash recovery clothwork (3.2.0.0 rc4), I flash tiamat roms (2.0, updated 2.01, and later 2.1 hammerhead).
In all this scenaries, when just flash the new rom, work correctly, but when I installa any application...oh oh...
...when I press power button to suspend it, after eight second Xoom automatic reboot.
I back to stock status (reflash serie rom, serie recovery...all serie) and xoom work correctly.
when I reflash to use another time Tiamat´s rom...here is the problem...when I installed any application, if I suspend Xoom reboot automatically after eight second.
If I plug xoom to pc, and in "cmd terminal" I made:
adb logcat
I can suspend xoom without it reboot.
I tried to elevate minimal frecuencyes in setcpu, but same results.
I tried to do a logcat > logcat.txt in terminal emulator, and suspend the xoom...same result...reboot after eight second.
Any sygestions for I can use Tiamat roms???? With stock rom I have 1700 point in quadrant...with Tiamat without overclock (my xoom don´t let me overclock ) I have 2800 points.

Ok, I am just asking this to make sure I am 100% clear with this story.
Everytime you do an image with no apps and you shut down, the Xoom doesn't restart, but when you download applications it does... If this is so, I would suggest that you list the applications that you put on your tablet when it does restart, because to me, it sounds like it is an application that is bugging out on the Xoom.
Android systems are set up to force a restart if there are too many system resources being chewed up by applications that are a "High Priority" status and this causes a system resource lock up, and unfortunately, the only way to fix that is to force restart the system. IF it is a app that is doing it, all you need to do is make sure that app is not running to allow it to do so. Good ways of finding out is to use Titanium Backup (Marketplace) to freeze the apps (but that is only for a paid version...) or as someone else just previously suggested in another forum post is Autorun Manager where it allows you to freeze applications from starting up.
I would also suggest that you use the LogCat function in the SDK Tools that is stored in DDMS (aka ddms.bat located in the SDK TOOLS Section). This little program will allow you to do LogCat on your computer as well as save the log as a txt to upload to us (or for easy copy and paste) and as well as allows you to take screen shots and so forth. This might help you out finding the problem too as well as help us

You had this trouble after you flashed the new ROMs, are the correct version? (aka Wi-fi only vs 3g romsm, cause there are 3g roms for Tiamat)
Did you clear the cache before and/or after you put the new ROMs on?
I hope we can get this resolved as soon as possible for you!

With original-stock rom all work all right. My machines arrived with 3.1 Honeycomb, and via OTA updated to 3.2 (HTJ85B).
With this roms, all work correctly. I installed a lot aplications and work allright. I root this rom, and all are working well.
If I try to install any rom from Tiamat, doing previous wipe, the rom runs perfect. I install Titanium to reinstall all my aplications, and all work well. I can work about hours without problems...but with this roms (with all tiamat´s kernel and launpad kernel...) in the moment I suspend, after 8 or 9 second the tablet reboot automatically.
I tried to do a clean install, and only install one aplication, like flash player...and all are ok. After it, install another one, and after it another...but at tirth or fourth there is the problem another time...and tried with diferent aplications. Sometimes the problem go after install flasplayer, sometimes after install RepliGo, sometimes after install dolphinHd...
The more stranger thing is that if a plug the tablet to pc, and make a "adb logcat"...if I suspend de tablet...no problem, no reboot.
It´s possible that mi gpu aren´t righ? I say this because I guess that when the system go suspend, the gpu frecuencies go down (or gpu voltajes) and this made machine reboot... and it´s possible with tiamat´s kernel voltajes and/or frecuencies GPU are diferent than in stock rom.
It´s possible flash a tiamat rom without customiced kernel??? If I could try a tiamat with stock kernel, or with gpu without variation in voltajes or frecuencies.

I would actually ask if you have your wifi set to go off when the screen is off. This is a known issue...unless the wifi sleep policy is set to Never, the Xoom may reboot when the screen is off. It could be as simple as that.

But I remember dont change this between flash and install all apks.
At this weekend I´ll probe it and say you, now I need stable tablet to work.

[Nook HD+] CM10.1 development for sdcard last update 09/04

I decided to start a new thread for 10.1 development on Nook HD+.
Starting with 5/30 build there is a new sdcard layout, so you will need to redo your sdcard from scratch if you were running anything different. See at the bottom of the post for historic info on legacy sdcard builds.
Installation instructions:
- Grab cwm early7.1, gunzip and write to your sdcard using dd under Linux/MacOS or WinImage under Windows. Minimum supported size is 2G. Sandisk Class 4 is best recommended, Sandisk U1/Class10 (you can tell them by being red and gray in color) are NOT recommended,
- Download latest CM sdcard build you want to install, currently latest is: cm-10.1-20130904-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-sdcard.zip
- Download other files you might want to flash.
- Place the install files you downloaded onto the Nook (or you can do adb push later in cwm).
- Insert sdcard that you wrote cwm image to into your powered off Nook.
- Turn on the Nook. CWM interface should load.
- In cwm navigate to install zip from sdcard. -> install from internal storage. (use volume buttons to navigate, home button to select, power button to go one menu level up).
- Choose your files to install and install them.
- When done installing, press power button a couple of times to get to the initial menu and then select reboot option.
- Nook should now reboot into CM10.1 that you can enjoy.
If you plan to use USB Host feature, you will need a gender changer, as B&N decided not to release a special cable so far. The control to enable USBHost is in quick settings panel (slide down in the top right corner of the screen to bring it up).
Known issues:
- Nook app reports incompatible in market (workaround1: just sideload it ; workaround2: change ro.product.device to nookhdplus in build.prop) - this is because B&N blacklists ovation platform for the app. Revert back once done, as otherwise you'll lose sound.
- Certain sdcards still remain unstable.
- In Android File Transfer "Internal memory" refers to sdcard and "sdcard" refers to Internal nook storage. This is not a bug and is intentional.

I installed it finally after several reinstalls of image on 2 different cards (Samsung 8GB class 10 and A data 8GB class10) finally succeeded on Samsung.Took very longtime to boot and after optimizing apps constant message "unfortunately setup wizard has stopped kept coming and could not proceed any further.Reinstalled image on sd card reinstalled the zip,same result.

Got it to boot finally!
Using the same 32gb SDcard as I was using for CM10. Had to wipe card and install the image (early 4 as suggested) and then adb push over the binary dated 01/07 and install it, on first boot was hanging on the Cyanoboot screen as mentioned by the OP, had to hold down power and shutdown and then power back on 2 times for it to actually start to boot, on 3rd boot it loaded fine, so my tip is to be patient and you shall persevere

here is my feedback for the build 01/07.
The 2 first boot was hanging on the Cyanoboot screen but it boot correctly at the third.
Beside the bugs mentioned by the OP I also have freez of 1-2 second on every app how uses intensively internet (maps, firefox...)
3D games like Temple Run runs smooth
I have a FC for terminal emulator so I can't see dmesg command to analyse the freez bug with internet apps.

Usage review
Right I've been running this as my daily driver for 3 weeks now and gotta say other than a few little issues it works great
Issues are:
1. WiFi takes 3 goes to connect up most of the time, may be encryption specific (e.g. my work connection is WPA PSK and works most of the time first time but my home connection is WPA2 PSK encrypted and always requires me turning wifi on and off a few times before it gets past authenticating.
2. Random reboots, may well be sd card related as did have them before on CM10 too. Have found it happens fairly regularly when plugged in and charging (usually overnight) but can happen at any time, quite often in the stock browser, so most probably sd card i/o related.
I can try and grab logs if needed for the above?
Overall though works great and after having tweaked my build.prop to think it's a Nexus 7 I have even gotten Sky Go to work (UK based satellite tv broadcaster streaming app) so am super happy with it.

Yeah, I'm suspecting that the reboots are because of i/o issues with writing to the sdcard. I never have the tablet connected to adb running logcat when it reboots. It tends to reboot when it's just been sitting there for a while, never in the middle of something. I had to just go back to the stock rooted B&N kernal for my wife's HD+ because she was complaining about the crashes.
On the other hand, my HD running CM10.1 has been pretty stable - one reboot per week. I just did the hybrid install yesterday, so I'm hoping that it's completely stable now. Only time will tell.

Just prepare a new SD with his new image (from his hybrid thread) and install the same way as you normally do on SD. Just have to use his 1/30 or newer. It is all automatic. It leaves /boot and /system and /sdcard on SD and puts /data on internal memory (as a folder under internal data). That way stock can still boot without hanging with the SD in and data runs faster.
Edit: But this is only implemented on the HD, so it will not help you. You might look at his old hybrid, with that one you can take the card out once booted, which I think is what you wanted. If that got set up on the HD+ it would make it so the card gets taken out, and it stays on CM10 until rebooted.

Have anyone idea or guide how to get never version CM10.1? On my Galaxy Tab 10.1 i use nightly build and it got many many great updates and fixes. For Galaxy i know git and can compile it itself, but for Nook no.

See my edit. For HD only. Only source of CM10.1 is verygreen, and you have to wait for him to update.

I'm not sure what you mean, while dual booting. You mean while booted to CM10.1? If that is what you mean, it is under the /emmc folder.

You are still not being clear. What do you mean accessible? Do you mean some specific program cannot load the files? And how can you view them, with a file manager? Do you mean seeing the files on your PC? You need to be more specific if you want help.

we really need an update
ive been waiting for an update for almost a month now please update this rom
and how do i get drm to work i have netflix but i cant use it cause of drm

Verygreen used to update every couple of days or so, but for the last month development has almost stopped whiich leads me to believe that there are RL issues involved in which case i would think that it is rude to ask for updates. If verygreen can't continue development (for whatever reason) we only have to hope that another dev will continue and build upon his work, there's not much else to do/happen, andvasking for updaters certainly doesn't really help...
Back on topic: this rom is by far the best I've used to my nook. Unstable as the others to be sure but noticeably smoother (maybe it only seems so due to the added animations from 4.2). Also I love the rest of 4.2 additions (notification bar, etc), it would be indeed great see this rom developed further, but as I wrote to my prologue, each to its own time...

Problem with freeze

I have a problem with the phone. What is this doing to me with all that flashing roms and kernels to mobile.
I'm now with Kyrillos ROM 9.7.2 with G3Mod's 2.5 and I freeze, get an error of some application, may be the theme, or whatsapp and I have to restart the phone. He remains in unusable condition, you can move the status bar up and down, turn off wifi etc ... but if they call you, it sounds, it does nothing (locked), the theme does not work (you can not enter the menu or anything).
And so with all the roms I've tried and kernels. But who else does this, is with the kernel fugumod.
I thought it was problem of restoring the program applications with Titanium Backup. And I started installing the applications of 0, but it turns out I do the same, and each "X" hours I find the phone frozen, not receiving calls etc. ..
What can be the problem? I'm thinking it may be a problem with the SDCard or something: S, but the Sdcard works very well, is a Samsung 16GB HC 6

try to raise cpu voltages for +25mV on each step and try to use some other governor....maybe governor u use cause freezes.....or it might be low ram level and phone get's stuck....

[Q] KatKiss on TFT101G

Hi to everybody, thanks the suggestion of Federuco, I installed the ROM modifified by ShevT fo TFT101G; even if it asked the PIN for the Sim inside, when I try to navigate with the 3G it doesn't works.
Also I noticed that GPS it doesn't fix at all (the signal blincking for a while, but no fix).

3) Reboot
4) Wait that it has finished booting and launching all the stuff you have starting at boot
5) Start your GPS app outside with a clear sky line, to speed things up stay in range of the wifi / internet connection.
Do not let the gps app loose focus when it is trying to get a fix.
Do not let your tablet sleep / turn off the screen either.
Doing that here, the first time and with a cold gps start, and even staying in my house,
I get a 6 sat fix within 30 seconds and 11 sat fix in 1min 15seconds.
From there subsequent fixes takes about 3 seconds to grab 7 sats and about 10 seconds to reach the 10-11 sat fix
(you still want to let it sit outside for a bit after the 1st fix, so that the ephemeris data gets consolidated and updated to help faster fix later on)

For 3G module functionality have you tried last ShevT KatKiss_3g-4.3.1-20131227-029 release?
Also I have a TF101G and as soon as possible i switch from stock to KatKiss, maybe we could exchange tips and opinions.

thanks a lot for your prompt reply; this afternoon I'll try to follow your suggestion and I'll let you know the result; about the 3G I'll wrote a private message to ShevT and I hope he reply; it's an annoing problem, but I want to resolve it.

Found it. Thanks. Just one question. I have 2 camera apps and one seems to be related to the gallery app. Any idea how to "solve" this? I want to remove that one -maybe to reflash the gallery app???

I'm currently using the latest version of UBER-L kernel (01/01/15).
I have formatted my Micro USB to F2FS and would like to use it with my phone. TWRP recognises the USB and mounts it successfully, but the ROM (OptiPop) does not mount the USB. Both mount the USB fine when it is formatted to FAT32.
Is it possible for me to use F2FS using USB-OTG?

I disabled trimming and I dont see a difference with f2fs. I would conclude that it isn't necessary with f2fs

GPU clock not going above 450MHz
Hey, I'm using this kernel (latest version as of now), on a clean flash of Optipop (also latest as of now - 11/01) with F2FS.
I set the max gpu clock to 650000000 in the uber_v1.3.cfg file in /etc
(also by terminal as in the 2nd post just to be sure) (echo "650000000" > the path and all)
Apps like System Monitor Lite and CPU-Z confirm that the max gpu clock is 650Mhz (Adreno 330 @ 650Mhz).
I have also set the performance governor (in the config file, and I tried via synapse + UKM 3.6.1 too) (I have set synapse not to apply settings on boot, so that should not be interfering with the init config of uber kernel until I set something in it.) I have no other kernel tweaking apps anyway.
However, the clock only goes up to 450MHz no matter what. It goes directly to 450 when touching the screen due to the performance governor, so I know settings are being applied.
However System Monitor, CPU-Z etc all show, current clock: 450MHz, Max Clock 650Mhz.
Even benchmarking with GFX bench gives results basically identical to the stock Nexus 5 with 450MHz, so there is no performance and FPS difference that should be there.
I searched the developer thread and found a few posts from many months ago that the gpu overclock was working properly for many people, with an appropriate improvement in FPS and benchmarks, with a couple of people also having my issue, that whatever of 650/533/450 max I apply, gpu doesn't go over 450MHz. However I couldn't find any solution.. it stopped working properly at some point between those builds when Chet introduced 533/650 and now?
I can't post in the dev thread (less than 10 posts).
This is reproducible, right after a clean boot, not a thermal issue (am not overclocking CPU, not running any CPU benchmarks, temp is less than 50C).

Installed Optipop back onto my N5 today. After a few hours of the phone being on the UI starts to act up then eventually needs a reboot to get back to being functional. I then flashed UberL kernel and now my screen is fuzzy and glitches out. Never had this problem in the past with Optipop or UberL. Please don't ask if I dirty flashed or deleted the android folder. I completely wipe my phone before I install a new ROM. I have been installing ROMs for a good minute now and have never seen this before. I have tried at least 5 other rom/kernel combos.....none have the same affect as UberL and Optipop. Yes I've tried F2FS ONLY Permissive Only and EXT4/F2FS Permissive and Enforcing with no luck.

Has the issue with the missing charging icon when the phone is turned off and plugged in reappeared? I have System, Data, and Cache formatted as F2FS and flashed F2FS-ONLY-Lollipop-Kernel-Cl3Kener-Kexec-Permissive.zip before flashing UBER, but I am still having this issue. Everything else appears to be running smoothly.

Is there anyway to know if I isntalled corectly this kernel ? I changed a setting in the cfg file and it seem to not change anything. For exemple,
10.2 : Double tap to wake

Confirmed. I have the same problem. Nothing in the uber.cfg file works. Its as if it wasn't even there.

Format rom and then delete cache + tmp\mksh. Make sure to have a fresh ROM folder. Reinstall OptiPoP.ZIP, then flash the kernel before even boot. Now u can boot. install GA APP. Some time reinstalling work. Am lcuky...
Always do the following AFTER installing the kernel:
1. Clear cache
2. Clear dalvik
3. Fix Permissions

After 2 Benchmarks, i can say that doing this fixed MY problem. Uber/sabermod is now working realy well for the performance. Uses AnTuTU to check if its working. It upgraded a lot the performance for me.
