[Q] V10b latest version? I'v heard there is V10d out!?

My model info:
Model number: LG-P920
Android version: 2.2.2
Baseband version: L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7
Build number: FRG83G
Software version: LGP920-V10b-JUN-16-2011
when I try to update it, it says, that current version is the latest, but I'v seen that there is V10d out already (July 8th update?)

It says I dont need the update?

The LG PC update utility says v10b is the latest for unbranded Optimus 3D's too (in Customer Support -> Supporting Model menu)

I have an unbranded phone,my SW version is v10d

I asked LG about that damn update since there is so much confusion about it.
Here is their response:

It is OTA, I recieved it to my unbranded phone with no sim card in it, over wi-fi.

I'm stuck on 45% is this normal?
edit phone got bricked but i saved it LG tech = useless
if your update fails or goes into clockwork recovery etc you will need LG mobile update on your pc and install the lg p920 drivers
turn your phone off take the battery out leave it for 10 secounds, connect battery and usb cable hold power and volume up hold it for 10 secounds let go then do it again for 10 secounds
now run LG mobile update click customer support > recover type your imei let it update once finished power up phone now you will get a screen on the phone that says updating let it update

Argh. My phone now just keeps booting into ClockworkMod Recovery.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

I'm so happy, just updated to 10d and its fixed the terrible picture quality I was having when using the camera. I had literally felt like I was using a camera phone from many years ago until this update, it was that bad on 10b.
NOTE: Video quality VASTLY improved, Photo quality still complete garbage. Its weird now as video quality is superior to photo, quite clearly a bug IMO.

I'm getting a "connection failed due to authentication error" when I try to check for OTA updates.
And the PC utility is still showing v10b as the latest for unbranded Optimus 3D's in the UK. Any ideas about how I might be able to get v10d?

I have unbranded and can't get automaticaly update via phone also when I try to update via PC, PC having communication problems between PC & Phone :/ any1 know how to fix it? I have latest drivers and I also can't see microsd card when I turn that USB on when I plug in phone via usb.

you mean that message what pops up when plug in via usb? I did tried with and without it turned it on, still can't detect it and can't update phone via PC too :/

Sony Xperia Z3 Root Problem (With Windows 10)

Hi there, I am currently a user of an iPhone 6 and ordered a second hand Sony Xperia Z3 which arrived a week ago. I haven't had time to set it up as I have been away with work, so last night when I tried to root the handset (a requirement for me) I had great trouble. I have a lot of experience in rooting Android handsets having been with Android for a number of years before my short stint with iOS. I received the handset on 4.4.4 firmware and couldn't use the giefroot tool as my firmware wasn't compatible. I had a software update so updated to Lollipop and tried again, it still gave me the same message. I then tried to downgrade the firmware using Flashtool however after around 3 hours, the application could STILL not recognise my device through fastboot as I couldn't get the drivers to install.
I have three more days left in my return warranty and I was wondering if this is a common problem? I have read on the forum about compatibility settings I can change to get the drivers working, is this a viable solution?
Also - on a side note, the phone I received is in great condition(cosmetically). However; there seems to be a little bump where the frame separates from the screen just where the volume buttons are. Would this effect the waterproofness of the handset.

Disable driver signature verification, than try to install the drivers again. Those are really needed to flash with flashtool.

I get the error "DPInst.exe does not execute on your current operating system" when I try to disable driver check
EDIT: Setting compatibility mode of the exe in Flashtool/Drivers to Windows Vista solved the problem (I had this previously set to W7)

Try to install concept marshmallow software through concept installer. It installs all the drivers and programs needed. I use windows 10 and that solved my problem.

Im in japan. my phone doesn't show ota for marshmallow, only for Sony bloatware. and pc companion on Mac says yes there is an update available... But then after about ten seconds the dialog box is replaced saying that I am running latest version available (though i have 5).
Same results when I tried VPN.
My phone is unlocked as originally purchased. I have a data sim.
Does it refuse because I have only 500mb on internal? There is no error message-it just changes its mind.
Any ideas? Just wait?

There is actually a mac version of Flashtool, but maybe not xpirifirm so you might have to find a pre-made FTF.
I guess you don't have root?
Update manually with Flashtool? Lots of guides available. Might not even have to make your own FTF file, but I recommend doing so if you can as then you know what is in it.
Essentially this is the same as using Sony software to do it, but you have more manual options. Download the files with xpirifirm, decrypt them with flashtool (not as complicated as it sounds), then it will make an ftf file for you which is the bit that contains all the system for the phone / update, then follow instructions to flash it onto the phone.
I'll look for a decent guide link.
My top tip is to make sure the TA partition stuff is excluded when you select what components to add to the ftf file to be safe, but flashtool should exclude this by default. And to make sure you download the software for your exact device so double check it when you choose
It really isn't as overwhelming as it may seem when you first look at it.

Something along the way is causing the problem. Tried reinstalling PC companion?
I say manual flash because that eliminates the variable that it's your phone causing the problem and also gets you updated as you wanted soooooo two birds with one stone
If you can't so it by PC I hope the phone eventually sorts itself out

Did you use xperia companion? If you used that, then there might be no update available yet for your phone, because xperia companion have a bug that shows an update is available, but there really is no update available.

Yes I'm using xperia companion. I guess I'm experiencing that bug you mention.
How can I establish if an update is available when I have no carrier? If I have no carrier then is it still dependant on the country I'm in? I know others have received the update for d6653 in other countries.

download the above kdz.. download & install "LG UP"..connect your phone thru USB (im assuming u have LG usb drivers installed & ur pc detects it perfectly)
open LG UP.. select the kdz file
Select "UPGRADE" & execute... 10-15 min for installation & another 15-20 for booting up.

Guys, I purchased an unlocked AT&T LG V10. It's currently running h90020j. I haven't received any ota updates yet.
My concern is that if I flash the new software version, will my phone get locked again? I use Etisalat SIM card in it.

i want to update my Unlocked AT&T LG V10 to the latest update H90021W. i tried using lg bridge but it prompts me to update from the update center from the phone itself. when i try to update from the phone, it shows "Device is up to date".
my question is that if i update via flashing the firmware file, will my device be relocked by AT&T? i live outside USA and Etisalat as my carrier. i have already downloaded the .kdz file for v21w software. i worried whether the device will get relocked by AT&T. help me out guys.
also i am getting a pretty poor battery out of my V10. wondering whether the new update would give me a better battery life.

I have updated to H90021W months ago it went smooth and error free. all my data was kept in tact and I have face 0 issues since then. I hope they find a way to get the kdz file for the future updates. Also no it shouldn't relock the device mine was unlocked when it updated and stayed unlocked.

Lumia W8.1 last version

I'm trying to update my phone to Windows Phone 10, but first I have to update it to Windows Phone 8.10.14219.341 (mine has 8.10.12393), does anyone have the image to flash it to the last version of W8.1?? I tried with WDRT, OTC Tools, changing .reg, and so on,
Plz help.

I had the same issue . Do a factory reset using WDRT. Install with default features and wait for an hour. Make sure phone is on auto update it will be updated automatically to 8.10.14219.341
However after I upgraded to windows 10 the keyboard did not work so had to revert back to 8.1

Thanks but, I did more research about that version, it's called Lumia Denim, and as I understood the minimum firmware version is around xxxx.xxxxx.xx51.1xxx, but mine has xxxx.xxxxx.xx24.0xxx, I went to lumiafirmware . com and what a surprise, all the RM-877 models with "LTA" in the name doesn't have the requeried firmware, does that mean that with my carrier I can't install the last firmware without lossing my mobile functions?
If anyone knows how to tweak someway the firmware or something I'll be pleased.
