can you attach the screenshot?
If you are not getting audio & video is playing, then it might have dts audio track.
If it's so kindly read http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/mx-player-custom-codec-dts-support-t2156254

It's a kind of scam. The message shown in screenshot is not from mx player. A video can't raise any message, warnings & popups. It's not the warning/information & it's the actual content of the video. Even you can check it with PC. It will show the same.
One more important thing is that the website mentioned in the video is not the official Yify's one. So, It's completely a spam. Don't download any codec or player from the website mentioned in the video. It may contain malicious spyware programs.

,
I have same problem!

That's a scam YIFY site. I would consider uninstalling whatever you may have installed, and/or wiping the device if possible.

Even i downloaded from that site ...

Had exact same problem
I had exactly the same issue with two movies i recently downloaded from the so called official yify website. And after struggling a lot for 'missing codecs', i l realized i wasted 1.5 GB of data usage

Definitely a scam.. The file compresses with a ~50% ratio (800MB -> 400MB), which clearly shows the file was artificially inflated (using some unusual compression flags on the video I'd guess)... So the info is simply not there..

Definitely it´s fake!! I downloaded 2 movies from the site, both with same message when playing it.
IF you listen 1 or 2 minutes on each movie you can hear the same audio, so it´s purely fake and they maybe are getting money from those websites advertising the site.
I would unnistall the "codecs" they offer inmediately and scan with an updated antivirus the whole machine.
I hope this helps.

I did it too... damn... I feel like a moron now :crying:

Thanks

well I found a workaround yesterday which is too long for me to be doing constantly but I uploaded the video to youtube and then used one of those youtube online converters to turn the movie in to a regular mp4 (the mp4 that gets made by the phone is strange and won't play)
All you have to do to play the video with QuickTime is to rename the file, replacing the .mp4 suffix with .3gp.

Divx player is for playing divx video formats. It uses a Divx codec that compresses lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality.
If you need more info. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DivX)
Some are running custom ROM's with the functionality removed. Follow this post to get it back.
Still don't understand what this is for...DIVX plays fine on the stock player without registering anything. What am I missing?

Did all this and the vod registration "transfer video" interface did not see my G2x even though windows popped up a "what do you want to do with this" so I closed the divx file transfer interface and copied it over using windows.
When I tried to play it on the G2x it said I'm not authorized. Tried deleting and re transferring and it didn't work.

Kinda suspected that's what it was...just wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation. I try to avoid DRM, but I guess being able to play the stuff could be a plus. Thanks, again.

.m4p will be added in the audio extension list. even though it might not be played as it is DRM protected audio file format from Apple.

Bug: MX player Pro build 1.9.5 dropped WMV support?

Hey, I was using MX player Pro build 1.9.3 without any issues.
Today it updated to 1.9.5 from Play Store.
Since the update, I cannot play any video that contains a WMV1 or WMV3 video stream.
The player tries HW decoder, then SW, then gives an error:
"This video format (wmv3) is not supported."
All those videos used to play back perfectly in the past up to (and including) build v1.9.3.
What's going on...?
I'm on Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. I launch videos using ES File Explorer.
This setup has worked absolutely flawlessly in the past for WMV files or AVI files containing WMV video tracks.

Message itself clear. Looks like MX Player has dropped support for some more codecs.
May be yet another patent issue. Anyhow, Custom Codec will work as usual with all codecs.
Not happy with this either. Especially for an app I paid for.
Hopefully just a bug they will fix.

Dear jguy, the solution you supplied doesn't work. I followed it to the letter. Version 1.9.3 was flawless. I'm sorry I upgraded. I'm a paying user. I use my tablet to make a living. I use video to teach English. Not being able to employ my collection of WMV3 files blows a hole in my resource collection. If only I could reinstall 1.9.3.
