Hi XDA.
I will try and make as much sense as i can as i am new to rooting etc. Please forgive me if i use incorrect terminology.
Ok so i purchased a Chinese One+ and tried to follow instructions on a YouTube video on how to flash it to the current Cy OS.
This didn't work as planned as my One+ said that there was an issue with "E Footer" so i then followed these instructions to install it via command prompt. (being a new user i cannot post an external link to show you the instructions i followed) However a Google search of E footer is wrong will take you straight to them.
This went well and the install was complete however i was unable to get any signal with my phone network EE. The sim works in my nexus 4 so that isn't an issue.
So i now want to re flash the device using the one plus toolkit but i have hit upon a few snags.
1. I have followed the USB driver guide but cannot find the Samsung drivers on the system to show up to allow me to complete the link between the phone and my win 7 machine.
So currently my One+ shows in device manager as A0001 and not a Samsung android device as the guide illustrates.
2. Do i need o unlock bootloader to flash?
3. The download CM115 link when pressed gives a 403 error so i have downloaded CM11s via an external download but am unsure what one file in the package i need to select to start the flash.
This is all academic however until i manage to get the phone to show as a Samsung Android.
Any help would be appreciated as i am stuck.
Thanks J
Download this: http://builds.cyngn.com/factory/bacon/cm-11.0-XNPH38R-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip
Extract it, reboot your phone to fastboot, connect it via USB and double click the flashall.bat in the extracted folder.
If this works.....
You sir are a legend
Doing it now.....
Im really sorry but there appears to not be a flashall.bat file within the zip.

Thanks i really appreciate it.

Right so you have windows good. I'll upload my flashall.bat in a few minutes. Are your fastboot drivers working?
Excuse my ignorance but i have been installing various things all day. I have the phone in fastboot mode however it sounds like what you're referring to is something else.

Go to command prompt and type fastboot reboot. Does the phone reboot?
I've just installed the 15 second ADB installer. However it still isnt working. Here is another screenshot. Thanks again for your help.
Solved the driver issue.
I have jumped onto a dedicated windows machine instead of bootcamp.

Not a problem, anything for a fellow xda user. So fastboot works? Make sure you have the fastboot folder for CM11s on the new PC. Here is the flashall.bat: https://mega.co.nz/#!9UAQRKJS!Kuau0ulgCrxrvE5wBH5Ib54Bv6E64U1RkXje_ONMxUc download it and put it in the folder with the rest of the files and double click it. It should work.

Yes, just to test the drivers.
Right got that working but we now have this..
I think we are close!
Ah I see, I think your download had an error
Maybe try it again and make sure the downloaded file is around 487mb
---------- Post added at 08:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 PM ----------
This is the size it should be
Ok re-downloading now.
What state should the phone be in to get this to work. Should I have de-bugging enabled and MTP?

Sorry if the question isnt clear, here is my delemma
So My N5 I had deleted the system partition (or folder) and I no longer had a rom, now my problem is that I cannot get a new rom installed.
I have TWRP as my recovery but no roms.
I also cant do adb sideboot, It always says: Error: Device not found
What Can I do about this?
Does adb Sideboot need usb debugging enabled?
Thanks!
Sounds like you may have to install the drivers for adb on your computer

Why not just flash the factory images from fastboot?
So I tried to using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509428 one of mthe multi tools, and it seems to go through and it stays boot looping in the boot animation.
hrmm.... very weird
EDIT: Ok I was able to flash stock via the direct google link, Now a question about adb sideload, How does that function? Do I have to have usb debugging enabled?

Windows batch file = .bat file. If you're going to screw with your phone, at the very least you should probably make sure explorer shows all file extensions...

Red my thread. Ensure fastboot is set up correctly and test if fastboot can see your device please. We cant really troubleshoot unless you do this.
If fastboot CAN see your device, flash the images separately (manually)
eg
flash system, then flash cache, etc

hello there, i am trying to root my htc one x+
But while typing "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" to unlock the bootloader, i get the response "waiting for device" forever!
on the phone,it is showing "fastboot usb" and also the cell is being detected on normally being connected to the pc!
I even checked the device manager, all the drivers are proper, no exclamation mark near the htc device.
I downloaded the fastboot files from htcdev and ran it. Also downloaded and installed Android SDK as mentioned on htcdev. Also downloaded AdbWinApi.dll and Adb.exe from here:
http://adbshell.com/download/download-adb-for-windows.html
Placed all of them in a separate folder &ran the above command.
Also i copied adbwinapi.dll and adbwinusb.dll in win\system32 just in case.
i also ran the adb.exe
Also turned off the fastboot option on the device
Also restarted the pc and left it overnight just in case....
I have no idea what's going wrong! Any help!

First of all download and install the official andorid sdk from google and then try to run fasyboot from there.
Follow these instruction to install the complete sdk tools.
If this doesn't help try reinstalling your device drivers.

I tried the same thing on different pc and it worked!
But i have another problem!
I installed cm11 nightly for my on my x plus from here:
http://get.cm/get/qG0
After that my imei has gone blank along with the baseband version.
I did a bit of research and found that by using ruu, u can get the imei back.
So for that i needed turn my s-on to s-off by the foll commands:
adb reboot
if i am not mistaken, while the phone is rebooting i am supposed to put the 2nd command:
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
The problem here that I think is the phone reboots so fast that i guess the command fails to execute and i get an error saying :
error protocol fault (no status)
So, how to turn off fastboot or quickboot in cm11? There is absolutely no option in the phone. I tried battery settings, power settings, everything!
is there a way to disable fastboot/quickboot in bootloader mode?
plz help!

you have to run the root.bat file, you cannot dir the boot.img
I know I have to run the bat file but you asked me a screen of the folder
I have this message:
strange... idunno for me its working well (windows 7 pro) and the boot.img is in the same directory... do you have some antivirus, anti spam apps running?
A other member of Frandroid forum has exactly the same issue. But he is running W8.1
That is really strange.
I am running win 8.1 as well
POThe only thing I can suggest is to change the line
fastboot -i 0x1bbb boot boot.img
to (in your specific case)
c:\users\user\desktop\idol3_6045_root\fastboot -i 0x1bbb boot c:\users\user\desktop\idol3_6045_root\boot.img
and see what occurs.
I'm thinking you may have fastboot somewhere else on your computer as well and that somehow, it's looking in the local directory of that fastboot. While that goes against everything logical (local directory should always be checked first), I'd give that a shot.
If that still doesn't work, open the cmd.exe with elevated permissions (right click "command prompt" in start menu, and run as administrator)
The problem seems to be resolved by using Windows 7 instead.
http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/223905-tuto-root-de-l-idol-3-55/?p=3417628
using win 7 is not a solution... there have to be a way how to do it, because there are thousands of users with win 8.1 who using fastboot and adb commands...
Is it a drivers issue? Does "adb devices" return anything? Or "fastboot devices" if you're in the bootloader? If you don't get a device listed after executing that command, the OS isn't fully recognizing the Icon 3.
I've all but abandoned using Windows for interaction with my Android devices. The driver issues are too big a pain in the butt. With Mac, and no need for installing drivers, the only issue is the occasional usb cable that doesn't work well. I don't mean that as a Mac is better than Windows thing. I use both and am not into these kinds of battles. But it is easier on Mac in this case.
OP, have you tried this with a different USB cable?
is your bootloader unlocked?
And I take it you've enabled Developer Options and USB Debugging?
After all my talk about the ease of communicating with Android devices from a Mac, I'm now unable to successfully issue fastboot commands when in the bootloader. I've tried using sudo, making sure to include arguments that address the device, etc. I can execute adb commands when the phone's system is booted, though. But fastboot commands either get me a "waiting for device" or nothing at all. I thought I was able to do this successfully yesterday, when I was just testing it out. Today, I was going to root by booting into TWRP and flashing SuperSU.

Hi all new here glad to be a member
anyway i just unlocked the bootloader and rooted with magisk through BOOT.img patching.... my Question is, are there any custom roms or anything out yet for this phone? Android 12 .thank you so much
Thats amazing. From my own research i understand this phone is so new that people have yet the get their hands on it to work on it also the fact that it uses a mediatek instead of a snapdragon is a sticking point for a lot of developers even though its basically the same phone as the g power 22 and g play 21
Hi sam9566
Yeah I broke my other phone cheap . So I looked for an unlocked carrier phone close to me and Walmart had like 7 maybe. But they were in lockup couldn't find it. So I asked the guy in the back he looked around and took his key out and went into this metal cage that you couldn't see into and pulled one out and sold it to me really quickly . Then I had to wait 9 days for the OEM UNLOCK to be UN-greyed in dev options. But in those 9 days I waited for an email from moto for my unlock code but never showed. So I got on live site chat and within 2 minutes the person gave me the 20 digit code . And after 9 days I unlocked the bootloader, then I used the Lenovo software to get the factory Rom extracted the boot.img used magisk to patch then flashed.. lol been debloating the crap out this phone.. it uses 51% storage after setup is completed
nice lets try to actually keep this thread alive so maybe we can get a lineage rom for this phone eventually???
well got rid of all the preinstalled apps and moto junk lol got down to 39% storage used. now what lol im bored
Yeah im still completely lost on how you did this could you possibly post a step by step guide???
lol ill try
1: download https://www.motorola.com/us/rescue-and-smart-assistant/p MOTOROLA SITE please be patient the program is slow just a warning if anyone thinks its hung..
2: Download magisk from GITHUB on your phone and install it.
3: download ADB_Fastboot
4: open rescue and smart assistant program and do the steps it says to do, then once it finds the ROM it MIGHT say already have latest... Say download anyway..
5: now once its done downloading dont do anything else. go to the download location and open the file and copy the BOOT.IMG to desktop or where ever you want it..
6: Now copy the BOOT.IMG to your phone's internal storage Download folder.
7:Run magisk and click top install then select and patch a file. locate the boot.img on your phone and patch it.
8: once done copy the patched file back to the PC i put it in ADB FASTBOOT folder. rename it too BOOT.IMG open CMD with admin rights or it wont work.
9: type (adb reboot-bootloader), should reboot into bootloader. now do this command (fastboot devices) make sure it see's the device.. then type ( fastboot flash boot boot.img ) -BOOT.IMG is what ever name you make it but for simple measures i did boot.img. let it finish reboot device with ( fastboot reboot ).. now open magisk and let it finish what its got to do...
10: ENJOY hope this helps someone out.. i never wrote a guide before as you can tell hahaha.. let me know if there is any QUESTIONS
Gonna have to dig out my windows pc ugh
lol what device do you have?
