Any way to limit cache file size in Chrome? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use chrome almost everyday to kill time, browsing the webs and everything I could do in chrome to kill time
The more I uses chrome, the bigger the cache file size. Is there any way to limit this cache files to 100ish Mb? so I don't need to clear its cache for every few day

I'm guessing you're using a 16Gb Nexus 5?

There is no way. You have to use Android's built in cache cleaner or another app to do it.

Well I checked the whole themes and apps section here but did not find any such thread. Thanks though good to know.
Great!!
Text free app does this too, I think maybe these apps need 4.4 compatibility updates

The most annoying thing ever

OK, every time you install an app it then states ur internal storage space left!!! If I'm watching a YouTube video it pauses and same with all games!!! What the hell its so annoying that I have to replay the vid or game. And if I'm downloading a few at a time.... Oh my god its horrendous. Is there anyways to turn this off???

I'm with @simms22 on this one, I've never seen anything like that. Do you have any third party apps that might be doing it? Anything intended to keep your device clean?

While installing apps from the playstore, it's common to get storage messages(toasts) if you have little space left on the device..
Not sure why it pops up while playing a game though.

I installed sky go as an example....

That has to be an app you have installed. I don't think I have ever been that low on storage space though so I actually don't know if thats normal.
How do I get rid cause I have this problem on my tablet too. Any idea what the app is?

YouTube

I am using a new nexus 5 which I bought recently and I'm having this problem with YouTube app that voice search is not starting a search on it I to manually type words but on Google now and other apps its fine I'm using non rooted stock rom
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Voice search isn't working on my YouTube either so you aren't alone. It acts like its listening then does nothing after I speak to it. Probably just the app though because my nexus 5 is a few months old

No connection play store

Hi, today I've used towelroot to root the nexus 5, everything seems to be fine, but the Play Store has this problem...
I tried to delete cache and app data, but it doesn't work...
What can I do?

are you connected to google servers or not?(white vs colored signal bars)

no, different bars. when you pull down on your notification bars, the signal there. if white, then connected to googles servers, if colored then not connected. and using xposed could create issues in itself, undocumented issues.
Mmm... It's orange too, so I think it isn't connected..
How it's possible? And what can I do?

if its orange, then its not connected. first off, just try rebooting. if still its not working, uninstall the xposed completely and try again.
I have to uninstall the modules too?

yea. unfortunately, xposed brings so many undocumented issues into the mix that im going to need it completely uninstalled to help with your issue. i mean whats the point of trying to figure the issue out if you keep installed the one thing that can create these issues?

ok, now im trying to figure out why you arent connecting to googles services.. has this been like this for a while, or only started today? if it only started today, it can happen occasionally. id give it a day or less to see if it connects, i guess the issue could be google side as well.
Yes, it's happened today after configured Gravity Box...
However, I've read some topic on the web saying that it could be a root problem, even if I have never heard about this...
Mmm... I'll wait until tomorrow...
Thank you for the help, I'll keep you informed

all "root" does is give you permission to change system files, thats all. only way it can be a "root issue is if you went and changed system files(which i doubt). so if it happened after configuring gravity box, chances are that its related to it. again, xposed comes with many many undocumented issues.
Understood, hope it will work

Laggy lollipop interface

My phone seems to be slowing down and taking a lot of time to switch between apps.
Are there any known issues about that?
