CROMi Xenogenesis downgrade to Inheritance - TF700T
Hi,
I have a TF700T and has always been extremely slow.
Bootloader 10.6.1.14.10
I decided to go from stock to Xenogenesis, it is better but still really slow, even with - the highly debated - fsync off or on.
Can I downgrade to Inheritance or will I risk bricking my device since I am on a higher Android version?
Forgive my ignorance, still learning the basics..
Thank you in advance!

You can downgrade your ROM, but you must wipe data in the recovery first ("Factory Reset"). And if you restore app data from a backup, apps may fail because a version downgrade for app data is not supported.

problems installing cromi-x on asus tf700t
Hi there, I hope someone could helps me. I am trying to install cromi-x, last version, on my asus tf700t but its impossible.
After doing all the process by the aroma installer, I have a message saying that "there is no Os installed, are you sure to reboot?"
Other times I have a boot splash loop.
I have followed all the steps (I think) wipe system, cache and dalvik cache and after that install the rom.
I am on TWRP 2.8.0.1 and my bootloader version, is US_epad-10.6.1.14.10-20130801. So I guess I am in the right version
to flash with cromi-x ? I have tried with odex and deodex version, with same result.
Any help will be welcome. Thanks!

Did you flash the Rom without a kernel??
You have to choose one of them in Aroma.

[Q] Upgrade from Cromi - 4.6.1 to Cromi - 5.0 RC2

Sorry for my noob question as I'm sure this is trivial to most users here. I would like to upgrade from Cromi 4.6.1-10.6.1.15.3/USDEODEX to Cromi 5.0 RC2 as noted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44978968&postcount=5625
I'm Unlocked, Rooted, and have TWRP installed.
I've rebooted into recovery and made a Nandroid backup of my current setup. Then went back and made a wipe and attempted to install the 5.0 RC2 .zip from an external micro SD. I receive a "failed" response. So I restored the Nandroid and I'm back where I started.
I'm rather new to flashing Android ROM's and was very successful in getting to this point by the very detailed instructions in the Cromi thread which I followed to a T.
My question is why am I getting a failed response? Not sure what I'm doing wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated.

RC2 is not signed yet so if you have signature verification turned on turn it off in TWRP before flashing. If it happens then you have a bad download so download it again please.
Very well, will give that a try and will report back. Would that setting be easy to find or do I need to have a look around under the advanced settings?

The box to uncheck is right above the "Swipe" button before you flash the rom.
sbdags full release roms are usually signed (and it says so in the zip file's name). If the zip is not signed, turn off the verification. For unsigned zips it may be a good idea to check md5sum to make sure you have a good download.

[Q] Help - Clarification on [How To's]

Hi
I finally have decided to try and unlock, root and install custom ROM to my TF300T. It's lagging a lot and I am going crazy over it.
I am not new to rooting and flashing roms, I have done the same numerous times to my beloved GNex and a couple of other mobile phones I owned before. Having said that, I have only followed the tutorial to flash. So, not a total newbie but sort of.
I am trying to make this tablet more usable (my usage is is restricted to browsing, streaming sports/movies and a few games). The more I read the more I am getting confused. I just would like a clean ROM which doesn't lag and hopefully a method that has lesser possibility of Bricking.
I am on the latest firmware from Asus (But, It did come with ICS if I remember correctly before I updated to 4.2.1). I know when I updated it came with new BL so, using custom recovery/roms designed for 4.1.x is not an option (please correct me if I am wrong). I intend to follow these steps -
Please point me in right direction/correct the steps/suggest better steps where ever needed. I just want to know if I am on the right path so far.
1. Unlock BL with latest Unlock tool from Asus website.
2. with [UNLOCKED BL], install 2.5.0.0 TWRP &SuperSU ( will follow - [GUIDE][13/11]Update/Recovery/Root/Downgrade Android 4.2.1 on Unlocked/Locked Devices ) - OR should I install 'openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300t-4.2.img' from TWRP site?
3. Once #1 & #2 are complete, I can choose a Custom Rom and flash. Anything else to be wary about?
Questions
1. Should I use 'Flatline - Unbrickable Transformer TF300T - Jellybean edition'?
2. I do not have much data and I can download the apps again if needed. So, Is Nandroid backup/Backup with Titanium necessary? (for recovery of the system/ROM - I do not care about the apps/user data at this point)
3. Can someone suggest what they think is a better combination of ROM+Kernel? From a post I see the following ROMS I can choose from
joelalmeidaptg's post :
Here you have a list of ROMs that are compatible with the new bootloader and are safe to flash once you are on 4.2.1 firmware:
CleanROM Inheritance Xenogenesis from sbdags
Energy™ from NRGZ28
GRIMLOCK from hardslog
CyanogenMod 10.1 Unofficial from pcoussa
ROM-THEME- STOCK KERNEL Stock Asus Firmware 10.6.1.15.3 from surdu_petru

After unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP, I would recommend installing CROMi-X.
It is based on stock so you do not need to wipe before installing (you can keep all your apps).
It has a nice graphical installer and you can choose lots of different tweaks.
It comes with a variety of different kernels - I use _that's OC kernel.

Thanks for the reply. Which version of TWRP? 2.5.0.0 or the latest one from TWRP site that ends with 4.2.blog?

Use the one that ends in -42 since you are on the 4.2 bootloader. Flatline NvFlash is always a good idea. A helpful guide is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545610.
cromi x for sure
cromix is def the way to go with this tablet-get a fast microsd-partition and use a kernel with data2sd like thats.
good luck, if installed correctly you'l feel like it's a brand new tablet
---------- Post added at 11:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 AM ----------
also, i find it's better to install cromi without installing a kernel first (using stock). then after cromi is up and running, use kernel installer to install desired kernel and tweaks. have fun and make sure to read everything

What version of Android are you on? Twrp should flash with no issues (most of the time anyways)

TWRP 2.8.6.0 not mounting anything
Hello. I'm new to xda so sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area but I have flashed the newer versions of twrp several times and each time I reboot into recovery it will not detect any partitions. It will not even let me look at my SD card files. I have tried several versions of twrp and nothing has worked. It wouldn't be a big deal except that I don't care for the CWM backup system and much prefer TWRPs. I am using invisibleks cm 12.1 ROM and am not using any custom kernel. Thanks in advance!

I've had the same issue with this the new 2.8.3.0 and 2.8.0.0. versions of my touch screen not working while in recovery. I have a d850, towel rooted, and installed this recovery both through adb and flashify. What could cause this issue? I am able to use flashify to flash a kernel, but if I want to change roms, I wont be able to. I have to do a battery pull to get out of the recovery.
TWRP 2.8.50-can no longer no longer change splash
I was able to change splash on TWRP 2.8.30, 2.8.40 using Android.Image.Kitchen.v2.0" bumping resulting IMG and flashing with Rashr. No more.
All steps appear to succeed- but rebooting to recovery shows original splash. Please help. Thanks.

I use Online Nandroid Backup and Nandroid Manager. It's a good workaround for now until the SD read issue is fixed for TWRP access. Here are the links. Remove if not allowed. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.bkrestore&hl=en https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.h3r3t1c.onnandbup&hl=en
use Flashify for flashing recovery, and no problem with adb.
TWRP 2.8.7.0 Shield Tablet Bug
Hi there,
unfortunately i found out that flashing the new TWRP to my shield tablet was a fail.
Sometimes i need to clear my dalvik/cache partitions. If i do that withing the new TWRP and want to reboot into system, the nvidia bootlogo shows up for about a seconds
and then then screen stays black.
Nothing of the reset options nor does a factory reset inside twrp help, i have to re-flash my (stock) rom again via fastboot. Then everything works fine again...
Edit: did it three times now to be sure its something wrong with TWRP when cleaning up dalvik/cache partitions. Will check if this happens with CWM too...
Also used two different rom versions from nvidia website 2.2.1 and 2.2.2.
It seems hard to get into any custom recovery, not just TW. My current workaround is to:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
It almost looks like custom recoveries don't get loaded when requested.
Hello guys. I flashed twrp 2.8.7.1, then used it to flash CM Kitkat (10 or 11, i cant remember). But now i occasionally will lose touch screen function. I dont know what is the cause, twrp or CM, or another thing maybe? Anyone have any idea to my issue?
Thanks in advance.
