[Q] Maps notifications from Sold Phone - General Topics

Hi all,
Around 6 months ago I sold a Samsung Galaxy S3 on eBay. Before I sold the phone I did a factory reset and thought that would be fine.
However, I am getting map notifications from the old phone. From Bangkok Thailand! I have removed the phone from my devices in the Play Store and done everything else I could think of but it is still happening and its very annoying
Obviously the new user probably doesnt realise and they dont have access to paid apps in the store as they dont have my password - basically I find it very irritating and would like to know how to stop it.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Mark

[Q] a question about moto milestone missing android market

Hello
So, I'm a total beginner, I only know about something called ( android ) 3 weeks ago, And I bought my milestone before 10 days from now.
However, my milestone doesn't have a market in it, the icon doesn't even exist in my phone, i tried looking for solutions on Google, called the Moto service line in my country, but they all said that it's normal, and that the whole market isn't allowed in Saudi Arabia yet, but three days ago my brother bought a Samsung Galaxy S and the market was there and he always brag about the application in front of me and I'm always like ( I wanna kill you right now ) while putting a stupid smile on my face so that he don't get the feeling that his device is better than mine.
however let's not stray from the problem.
I downloaded some alternative markets, like Applanet and Slideme, they were ok but still there are some cool apps I didn't find, and yesterday I saw the "Appbrain" but I couldn't download it because I need to access the market first, but luckily I found an .apk and I downloaded it, but it needed an update which need an access to the market !, so, I'm here, taking a shot.
can anyone tell me how to install an android market on my milestone plz ?
anyone ?

[Q] Getting my Samsung Galaxy S2 tomorrow

Hello everyone,
I am getting my Samsung Galaxy S2 tomorrow from a guy that has used the phone for less than a week. He told me that the phone is like brand new, no scratches, etc. I am kind of worried, because he told me that he installed the latest version of Cyanogen 7. He told me to NOT reboot the phone, because I am going to encounter problems ; he told me that the android setup (or whatever) is going to pop up. Also, I don't know what he was talking about, but he said he couldn't delete applications.
I don't know anything about android, is it possible to change the OS or even fix the issues he has mentionned?
Edit : He told me that he unlocked the phone, using an ''illegal'' application. Will the guarantee still work ?
If I change OS, is it still going to be unlocked? Or will I have to re-unlock it?
Thanks in advance,
heyangel
Yes it's possible. I suggest you take a look in the forums including guides regarding your new phone.
You've got nothing to worry about, enjoy the best phone on the market

Thank you for your fast and nice reply. I really appreciate it.
A friend of mine told me that it might brick, if I am unlucky while changing OS. I am really afraid, since I am paying 500$ for it. Is it worth it? Less than 3 weeks of usage.
Edit : He just told me he fixed the issue, he can delete applications.

[Q] What happened to Android

I'm a recent Iphone convert, but i started out with Android. I got board with iphone, as they weren't doing anything interested, but i was still reluctant to get an android again. The last one i had lasted 6 months before it started running like rubbish, regardless of reflashing. This was back in the days of Android 2.3.
One of the things i loved was the amount of things you could do with a rooted phone. I've recently come back, got a galxy s5, and rooted it within a couple of weeks. There's still plenty of apps, but the two i really wanted are now gone. There's no add blocking apps, or apps to change the app stores region (maybe i'm wrong, but i cant find them). Would love for some suggestions.

you can still block ads, you just have to use google search to find the apps or methods. ad blockers were banned from the play store some time ago.
sorry, i dont know anything about region switching.

Reactivation lock doesn't match my samsung account

Please , if you or someone you Know , sold a Samsung Gear S2 on Amazon Warehouse Deals I need you to unlock it, it could be the one I bought.
Thanks
Hi, my name is Cesar and I live in Argentina. My parents bought me a Samsung Gear S2 when they went to New York Last Month.
When we were looking for the price i found a deal on Amazon Warehouse for 40 dolars less, so i told them to bought that one.
It has been a couple of weeks trying to pair it whith my phone, talking to Amazon Coustomer Service, to Samsung Coustomer Service here and in the USA and the only solution is to find the previous owner and he/she unlock it
Please, I really need your help to diffuse this message.
Thanks
PS: if anybody needs pictures of the phone or the Amazon bill please let me know.
I bought and returned one, and I know that I I didn't unlock it (didn't realize I needed to). I doubt my returned S2 is yours, but I don't even know how to unlock it from my Samsung account!

Aparently you only have to sing in in Samsung web page, go to your products and remove it
It`s seems easy, please let me know
Thanks
I don't even see it as an option when I log into my Samsung account from a web browser - I see other devices - such as tablets and older phones. I do see my current phone listed which is currently paired with the S2, But no Gear S2 is listed on the Samsung Find My Mobile account.
There's no easy way to find out if reactivation lock is enabled - there is no more security option in settings. When I first got the watch, I distinctly remember not enabling that feature - but after subsequent resets of the watch (for testing) I was unsure if I had enabled it at one point. I eventually found a way - if you attempt to reset the watch, it will say in the warning message - that reactivation lock has been enabled for the watch.
Yes, I have tried like a thousand times, i really don´t know what else to do.
In The Samsung web it´s a way to unable it but you need the gear app for the phone i think.
I´m getting very dissapointed with this, it´s looks like a great whatch bue I have it in a box, it really sucks.
Have you found a way to fix the issue. I have the same issue

AT&T S6 still won't work right tried everything

I've searched far and wide on these long threads and tried most of them. Twice or more and I still can't add certain. Accounts specially samsung. Yes the phone is Samsung account locked the phone was reported stolen so my brother could get a new one and he gave me this one. Now that I don't have a working phone I need to get this thing up.and running. It's got activation lock on even when I turned it off double factory reset and all those tricks and asks work but not 100%. I'm broke and can't buy a good phone and would love the help
No one on XDA will help you when you obtained the phone through fraud.
