[Completed] [Q] Increasing internal memory - XDA Assist

The main reason I want to root is to increase internal memory available for app installation. I have a tablet with AML8726-MX with 8GB memory and 16GB sdcard. Adding 2GB or 3GB would be good.
Once I install the root or custom root firmware, should I assume that I will be able to adjust the partition size for internal memory. I assume this would be done by editing some file.

Hi,
On a Windows PC, adjusting drive space is simple... But it usually isn't possible on an Android device. But I suggest you ask here and see if anyone has any ideas,

[Completed] repartition lenovo s820's internal storage

Hi,
Last few month ago I bought a 4GB lenovo s820, version 4.2.1, baseband version s820.v12 and build number s820_row_s108_130603. This device work fine except for the storage. This 4 GB device have 2 partition which is internal storage with total space 2.13 GB and usb storage with total space 1.46 GB. The internal storage used up to 1.4 GB for system leaving me with only about 500 MB for apps. I didnt use the usb storage as i have a 32 GB sd card. So that usb storage is totally waste of memory.
Is there a way to remove the usb storage and merge it into single partition instead of 2 partition? This way i can have extra 1.46 GB for my apps.
Thanks
Hi,
I'm not too sure on exactly what you are asking, but the page to ask for help on that device is here...

And you may want to include as much details about what you are asking as possible to get useful Answers. Just posting "hi" won't get you very much help. ?
Good luck!

[Completed] [Q] Need Help Iball Andi 4di. Not able to install app in SD card.

Hi,
I have Iball andi 4di anroid phone (RAM - 256MB, OS - ICS 4.0.4) and it has 8GB sd card.
Problem which I am having is not able to install apps in SD card. After Installing 1-2 small app (5-10MB size) internal memory gets full and msg displayed continuously "low memory space". (due to this issue not able to open the existing app)
In the setting I can see and have already selected the option to install the app in SD card but after sd selection also it installs the app in internal memory.
Tried with reset (factory reset) several times but its not working.
If I root the phone does this problem will be resolved? Can anyone help me about this?

[Completed] [Q] My tablet won't install apps on INTERNAL SD Card

I have a tablet (Made by a company called MyAudio, they are only in our country so i wouldn't be suprised if you guys didn't heard about them). It has an 504MB internal memory (for OS and stock apps) and an 5,75GB INTERNAL SD Card. The problem is that it installs the downloaded apps to the internal memory and not the card, so it can't be really used. Also 504 GB storing the OS and ALL apps is clearly not enough for anyone. I only have like 100 megabytes for installing apps. The tablet is running Ice Cream Sandwich, so the apps can be moved to the Int. sd card, but not all of them, and also I can't even install apps that are too big, because it installs them on the int. memory first, and THEN sometimes they can be moved to the SD card. So is there any solution to this?
Hi,
You may possibly need to Root the device, if there's a way, and use something like "Link2SD" app to install on external sd.
I need your exact model number to see if info on this already exists on XDA. Though very likely you'll need to ask for help here,

[Completed] Gionee Elife s5.1 - Internal Storage Issue

I am having Gionee s5.1 phone with 16GB storage (no SD Card support) running on 4.4.2 Android version. The phone storage divided into 2 sections:
6.25 - This is called Internal Storage. Android version is installed on this with pre installed applications.
9.75 - This is used for media storage and currently no file or images in this storage.
I have uninstall all the unnecessary applications (Pre-installed) from the phone and keep only Cleanmaster, Whatsapp, Facebook Messagner and imo. I have automatic update of apps is off as well as from google play store.
Now the problem is, when I bought this phone it has around 2.3 GB space available and a week back, with above configuration and application, it shows mes only 471 MB space left. I have gone through each and every application manually and removed the cache also used Cleanmaster for the same but no help.
Someone told me to do Factory Reset to resolve this and I do last week. At that time my internal storage back to 2.63 GB free of 6.25 GB allocated and I am happy. Again I configured my phone with above software and disabled the auto update of apps from google apps a week ago. Today, when I go to Settings -> Storage, it shows only 400 MB space left of 6.25 GB. I am not sure what to do and how to deal with this situation. I googled solutions to deal with it like root the phone (King root used) and use Link2SD or App2SD to move the apps but those app said SD partition not mount. I tried minipartition wizard to partition for 9.75GB as shown on the various blgs, but my phone shows message of Corrupted SD Card. No luck... :crying:
Can any one let me know how can I merge internal storage (6.25 GB) with phone storage (9.75 GB) to use the phone without any issue?
Or
How can I use the Phone Storage as Internal Storage and move applications to Phone storage?
Urgent help is greatly appreciated...

[Completed] Looking for possible solutions to memory partition problem on MTK device...

Hello.
I recently purchased a chinese off brand tablet and had an unexpected issue with the memory being partitioned. The model is vKB011B and it's processor is mt6592. It's running a Mediatek flavour of Lollipop 5.12.
The issue is that, while it has 64GB of internal memory, it's memory has been partitioned into one 4GB block of "Internal Storage" and one 60GB block of "Phone Storage". Apps, and most app data, all install to the 4GB partition so it runs out of memory very quickly. I can side step the issue to some degree by moving apps to "Phone Storage" but only some apps can be moved like this.
Basically I want to gain more access to this memory for the purpose or installing apps. I rooted the device and tried to use App2SD but it seems that this app only works with an External SD. I found a thread here describing a way to tell my device where to install apps but this doesn't appear to have any other option but "internal storage" and "external storage". I tested it just be sure and it doesn't change the install location without an external SD.
So I'm looking for what I can do to make my device install to the 60GB partition and preferably any app data as well.
Alternately I found this thread regarding altering partitions....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/guide-repartition-internal-memory-data-t3052242
But I am uncertain if this will work the same with my particular device since it sounds like his device has unified memory he's just stealing from the system memory. It also seems fairly risky if there is a means of simply installing to the 60GB partition with out altering it.
Finally, I am wondering if there is anyway to switch my device to unified memory?
Thank you very much for your time.
