Signature on stock email client - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Just got a TMobile Z3 to replace a TMobile Note 1, and am generally very happy with it.
However, whilst the Note stock email client opened a (for want of a better description) word processor mini-app when you created or edited an email signature, the Z3 stock email client just pops up a simple text box in the same situation.
I want to be able to create a more structured signature than the Z3 seems to allow - is this a limitation of the Sony skinning, the current Android version, or am I missing an option? If the stock client can't do this (for whatever reason) can anyone suggest an alternative email client that can handle signatures.
TIA
Knots

I've not seen any device with default email client that offers more than a simple text signature (not to say there isn't)

WM6 Smartphone or Dumbphone?

I previousely had a Nokia E50, that is not considered "Enterprise" enough by WM6 users, But it had some basic features missing in WM6 Smartphone, does any one know how to overcome them:
1. I can not only Send mails, its always send & Recieve.
2. I can not send mails to a group of mail ids, I have to select contacts individually.
3. I Can not assign a assign a specific ringtone to a group of contacts.
Is Microsoft Stupid or What? Or do they keep everything for PPC version (I dont know since I do not have one)? Or do they think that they are giving the smartphone edition as a obligation, a social service of sorts?
1. Why do you only want to send mails and not receive. Its not possible as of now.
2. Use the software EssentialContax Pro that can send mails to a group.
3. You can assign ringtones to individual users. To do it for a group try using photo contacts pro. It has many additional features too.
Both features might be supported by one of these softwares, so check on the developers website for that
Re: Softwares
Thanks for the infor, but my point is, when you are buyig an enterprise device, these features should be inbuilt. Why do I have to pay extra for getting some basic features (the price of HTC S710 is double that of Nok e50)?
I have checked flexmail, but its pretty expensive! (in Indian Context).
Re: Why I just want to send mails: GPRS connectivity in India is exceptionally slow, so If I have to urgently send a mail, I wont have to wait for the downloading of all the mails thats in my inbox!
in the advanced settings of a mailaccount you can choose to send/receive or not when you click send.
i don't know if it is only a wm6.1 option, but on mine you can choose that!

Why? Because you feel those features are 'basic'?
I've looked at Nokia E devices, but they lack certain functions which I feel are essential. Main problem for me is that Nokia is not able to sync all calendar / contact information with Exchange. Does that make the E-series 'dumbphones' ? No. It only means that I am not satisfied with the functionality I get in *my* situation.

Correct me if I am wrong, but dont you think there are a lot more people who prefer sending sms or mails to a group of people than those who has an exchange server in office for syncing contacts etc?
Thats how I went about getting the S710... defined some "must haves"
1. MUST sync with outlook (exchange) Calender, mails, contacts.
2. MUST have a normal keyboard somewhere
3. Must look pretty much like a normal phone (size/dimensions)
Now that I have my s710 some new demands are added:
MUST run photocontacts pro (the profiling is simply awesome)
MUST be able to easily have more functionality installed (WM)
Thats about it

But it does run Photo Contacts Pro! BTW I am not using the official ROM, using WM6.1 Clean ROM
I know it does thats why its a new "must" for my next phone

[Q] Modifying default email service providers?

Is it possible to add or modify the list of built in email providers that Android knows about?
For example, at our company we are using Pantech devices. When the Email application is launched for the first time it asks you to select your email provider: MS Exchange ActiveSync, gmail.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, att.net, aol.com, aim.com, lycos.com, Other(POP3/IMAP).
I want to modify this to include our companies default email settings if possible.
I've already rooted the devices to customize them so that is not an issue; I just simply cannot find ANY information about this. Are they built in to the APK? I've opened the APK but couldn't find anything inside of it that seems to list the providers.

[Q] Remove/block INCOMING email signature?

Samsung Galaxy SIII (I9300), Stock ROM, O2 network, default messaging app
New phone, old problem:
My girlfriend will send me several emails from her work address each week and it means also getting the long signature from her workplace at the bottom of each one (including a couple of long hyperlinks). This makes finding the important part (her messages!) an annoying process of scrolling. On a PC, that's not much of an issue (though the signature - which includes lengthy disclaimers and so on - still takes up almost half the average email length).
I wonder then, is it possible to either block signatures from being downloaded (preferably on a sender by sender basis) or at least remove them after the email has been downloaded to the phone? Perhaps the email app (or any email app) can't differentiate between the message and the signature, in which case the former of those isn't going to be possible.
Incidentally, I don't want to root the phone, at least not in the next 12 months until its guarantee runs out.
So, is there an app (whether email client or add-on) which can do this (preferably free!) or am I stuck with lots of scrolling? And no, I can't get her to manually remove the signature at her end!
(Posted in general Q&A as I can't see this being a particularly Samsung-related issue)
Not gonna happen

I fully understand your issue and I understand that it is very annoying, but I'm afraid that I have to disappoint you.
The sender writes the email and because the signature is part of the mail, it can't be removed I think.(it would be just like removing hello..., dear...).
I looked around the internet to check but I couldn't find a solution. Maybe she can sent you emails with another e-mail address?
If I'm wrong, then somebody please correct me. So sorry, not gonna happen.
Hope you still find a solution

Thanks, that's what I pretty much figured. I'm guessing the only way a program could know what part of a message is the signature would be if it had direct access to the sender's email program (e.g. Outlook) and that's not going to happen. Unfortunately, sending from a different client isn't a practical option due to her work's security policy.
Oh well, unless someone comes up with a miracle solution, scrolling endlessly it is then!

[Completed][Q] Microsoft exchange mail on LG3

I have a brand new LG3 smartphone, where I want to install a microsoft exchange mail. However in the process it is required that the mail server is allowed to change a number of safety settings on the phone. The mail provider claims that the server do not need to do this, and if I try to install the mail on an I-phone theses request do not come up. Can anyone tell me why this requriement comes on the LG3 and equally important should I allow the Email server to do all these things - ex erase the data on the phone?
Hi,
Can you clarify? Do you mean LG G3?
Regardless, apps have the permissions they have. Really all we can do is install them or not install them.
Thank you. Thread closed.

Gmail for work e-mail setup failure???

Hey all,
After a brief departure from Android to iOS, I have came back with OG Pixel.
While I love everything about it so far, I have issue setting up my work e-mail on Gmail app.
Everytime I enter all the information needed, correctly, it tells me
"This server requires security features that your Android device doesn't support, including: Restrict text email size, Restrict HTML email size".
Funny thing is the work e-mail works perfectly fine on Galaxy models...
From googling, I've found out that it might have to do something with Gmail version?
Any input would be greatly appreciate!!!!
